Program Note

[ Posted Tuesday, May 27th, 2014 – 23:41 UTC ]

Important Question For All ChrisWeigant.com Readers:

Does anyone actually use the "Comments RSS" feed here? There may be a problem with it, and rather than dig into fixing it, it would be a lot easier for me to just turn this feature off.

But I will not do so if people are actively using it -- so PLEASE let me know right away if you use this feature of the website, below, in the comments.

Thanks, and sorry for the interruption.

Obama insisting he is not weak reminds me of Trelane, the Squire Of Gothos...

At the end, Trelane petulantly whines that he would have beat Kirk..

Trelane then fades away to nothing insisting, "I would 'ave.. I would! I would 'ave......"

Just like Obama's Presidency is fading away to inconsequential nothingness on the world stage.....

I don't know what a comments RSS feed is, either. But, I'd get rid of it if I were you. :)

What? You didn't like his foreign policy speech today?

    Shocking...positively shocking.

It was whiney and petulant and basically stated that the US is abdicating it's role as the world's only superpower..

Which works out real well, because the world is already way ahead of Obama towards that goal...

I haven't had the chance to listen to the speech yet but I'm pretty sure he said many of the right things and omitted some things that I think are very important.

    "SMALL" price??

    Are you kidding me!???

Do you want to envision a world where CHINA is the only superpower on the planet??

    Or RUSSIA!!??

    "Small price" my arse!!

The problem with the "peace at any cost" mentality is that it is nothing more than slavery..

I haven't had the chance to listen to the speech yet but I'm pretty sure he said many of the right things and omitted some things that I think are very important.

    Oh I am sure..

Obama ALWAYS knows how to SAY the right things.

But when it comes to DOING the right things??

Obama makes Carter look like the epitome of competence...

    The VA

    The IRS

    Benghazi

    Fast & Furious

    DOJ Targeting Reporters

What more do ya'all need to realize that Obama is NOT the second coming??

Oh and let's not forget the utterly BLATANT lie that, under TrainWreckCare that "If you like your health plan, you can keep your health plan"...

AND the total Train Wreck that was the Obamacare rollout...

On the competency meter, Obama makes Bush look like perfection...

In a couple years, China's economy will surpass that of the United States...

Thanx to Obama and the Democrats...

There is absolutely NO REASON that China can't supplant the US as the planet's only superpower...

Save the emergence of a STRONG American President who has a backbone...

    Gods know Obama ain't it..

Oh sure, he can bully Americans around, assassinate Americans at will, whatever strikes his fancy..

But Obama cowers before the likes of Putin, Assad, Kahmani and Kim Jong Un...

    Michale,

I didn't say that China's economic output would not eclipse that of the US. That is an inevitability and, in fact, it may have already occurred, depending on what parameters are being used to measure that sort of thing.

I did say that China will never replace the US as global leader.

You think Putin is a strong leader? Have you looked closely at what is happening in Russia, lately?

    Why not?

Fear and respect is what makes a global leader..

Because of Obama and the Democrats, our enemies do not fear us and our allies do not respect us..

You think Putin is a strong leader? Have you looked closely at what is happening in Russia, lately?

Exactly.. Putin is feared and respected by his allies and his opponents...

Putin is a very strong leader..

Obama is a very weak leader..

    To the matter at hand:

I don't know what problem you are having with the RSS feed, but the feature seems to be functional at my end of the pipe.

Would turning off the feature affect aggregation by Google and other search engines? It's very easy to search reader comments at CW.com by simply entering a reader's handle and chrisweigant. I sometimes use a google search to find an old comment quickly, but I don't know if that has anything to do with aggregation by means of RSS.

Interesting, but outside my limited expertise.

Interesting. You're right, the RSS is how external sites pick up on what is commented here. But I've been having a problem with it, for technical reasons, so I thought just turning it off would be the best answer (if nobody was using it).

I'll look into a more nuanced fix, but for the time being, I've removed the option from the top-bar menus and from the site. If anyone has gigantic problems with me doing so, please chime in now, or forever hold your peace.

    Thanks
