Ah, Lieberman. He could have been the perfect Vice President.

Thought this cartoon was particularly apt because it's hinting at the fact that the Democrats don't really have much of an opposition to the war. Their argument goes something like the following: troops are dying so the war is not successful so we should bring the troops home.

If there is more to their argument than this, I'd be interested to hear it from someone.

The problem with this argument is that if the body count goes down, Republicans can declare success. Hmmm ... sound like anything that's happened recently?

Dems need to have a clearcut opposition to the war. Something like:

"The war in Iraq was sold to us with false information. The area is more dangerous now than when we entered it. We destroyed a regime hated by our direct enemies, the jihadists, and created thousands of new recruits for them. This war has cost more than 3,000 American lives, thousands of seriously wounded, and hundreds of billions of dollars."

This, by the way, is straight from Ron Paul's website. No wonder so many progressives have a soft spot for him. He can manage to say in a paragraph what Democrats have struggled with or been too scared to say.
