The House January 6th Select Committee Hearings [Episode 6]

[ Posted Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 – 15:58 UTC ]

Donald Trump, when he was president, was mocked in many ways. The most amusing of all, though, was the giant balloon someone created of Trump caricatured as a baby, in diapers, clutching a cell phone in one of his tiny hands.

Today's hearing in front of the House Select Committee on January 6th proved beyond a shadow of a doubt what most observant people had already realized: Donald Trump was indeed nothing but a big baby. He is a man-child whose mental age seems stuck somewhere between two years old and perhaps five. He throws tantrums. He throws his own food. He cares about nothing but satisfying his own warped urges. His biggest concern on January 6th was that the crowd size of his rally looked impressive on television. He continually harps on this, speaking just this week about his crowd that day as (of course) the biggest, hugest crowd ever to assemble. It's all about Donald Trump's ego, and it always has been.

This was revealed at today's hearing, in great detail.

The sole witness called was a top aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Cassidy Hutchinson was either in the room for important meetings or she spoke with the participants immediately afterwards. She was no low-level staffer, she was able to give an extraordinary first-person viewpoint as a Trump White House insider.

Not widely known yet (as I write this) is a shocking report from Punchbowl News that today's hearing was apparently called on such short notice because the committee feared for her safety. That's an extraordinary thing to say, but it certainly sounds plausible. Vice Chair Liz Cheney noted, at the very end of the hearing, that some of the committee's witnesses had been reporting attempts to intimidate them by former colleagues and those in "Trump World." This is the behavior of a mob boss, plain and simple. Today's hearing was a surprise -- called at the last minute, with no statement of what would be covered or who would appear -- and that seems to have been due to the committee wanting to get her testimony on record as soon as possible because they are concerned about her safety.

Again, that is an extraordinary thing to say. But it isn't all that surprising, really. When Trump throws a tantrum, he expects results. Baby Trump is also Mob Boss Trump, and that thought should frighten us all.

Public Hearings of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol [Episode 6]

Today's hearing was conducted (with the exception of the official actions with the gavel of opening, announcing a recess, and closing the hearing) entirely by Vice Chair Liz Cheney. Cheney asked all the questions and directed the flow of the information being presented.

Chair Bennie Thompson opened with one remark that seemed to be rhetorical when I jotted it down, but now I am not as sure: "The truth won't be buried. The American people won't be left in the dark." That certainly sounds different after reading that the committee feared for the safety of the witness.

Cheney began by showing a map of where Cassidy Hutchinson worked, just off the office of the chief of staff and the vice president, or a short 5-10 second walk down the hall from the Oval Office.

Cheney started the questioning by asking about a meeting with Rudy Giuliani on January 2nd. Hutchinson testified she heard Rudy tell her: "We're going to the Capitol. It's going to be great. The president's going to be there. He's going to look powerful." When Hutchinson mentioned this conversation to her boss Mark Meadows, he replied: "There's a lot going on. Things might get real, real bad on January sixth." Hutchinson testified what her own reaction to all of this was: "That evening was the first moment when I remember feeling scared... nervous about what would happen on January sixth."

In other words: this crime was premeditated, it did not just spontaneously happen.

We then got a rundown of how the day unfolded as told by police reports from the scene. The Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies knew that the potential for violence existed. They reported seeing people with ballistic helmets and body armor. They saw an AR-15 rifle and "Glock-style pistols." They saw knives, poles made into spears, and bear spray. One Capitol Police bulletin starkly warned: "Congress itself is the target." When Meadows was informed of all this, Hutchinson testified that he barely even reacted: "I distinctly remember him not looking up from his phone." He wasn't interested. The president was informed, and nothing happened. Meadows "did not act on those concerns."

Cheney then asked about what happened at the rally at the Ellipse. Hutchinson spent the rally backstage, in a tent, where she couldn't really hear what was going on out on the stage. But before Trump spoke, he was reportedly "furious" because he wanted the crowd to appear as big as possible on television: "He was furious because he wanted the arena we had a the Ellipse to be maxed out to capacity." He "was concerned about the [television] shots."

Many people weren't going through the security checkpoint (where they had to pass through a metal detector -- a magnetometer, or "mag") because they could see and hear the stage from outside the secure area. Trump was not happy about this, and assumed there was some sort of backup at the checkpoints. When told this was not the case, but that those people weren't coming in because they were armed and didn't want to have to give up their weapons, Trump exploded:

I overheard the president say something to the effect of: "You know, I don't effing care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me. Take the effing mags away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here. Let the people in. Take the effing mags away."

Hutchinson edited Trump's words to say only "effing" in her testimony, it's worth noting, rather than use the vulgarity Trump assumably actually used.

When it became "clear to us" that the police protecting the Capitol were being overrun, Hutchinson tried to tell Meadows, but Meadows showed no interest whatsoever -- he "almost had a lack of reaction" to hearing that more officers were desperately needed.

Many people tried to get Trump to tone down the speech he gave that day, to no avail. When he spoke, Trump lit into Vice President Mike Pence repeatedly, and got his mob to focus on him while the riot was happening.

In the days leading up to the rally, we learned that Trump was pushing hard for either walking with or riding in his car alongside the march up to the Capitol. Pat Cipollone, from the White House counsel's office, was adamant that this not happen: "We have serious legal concerns if we go up to the Capitol today.... Please make sure we don't go up to the Capitol.... We're going to get charged with every crime imaginable" if that does happen. He was specifically concerned with "potentially obstructing justice" and even "inciting or encouraging a riot."

After Trump's speech at the rally, he first pressured the Secret Service to allow him to go to the Capitol, and then had a major temper tantrum when told it wasn't possible. There's just no other way to describe it. Trump really wanted to walk with the mob, but he would have been satisfied if he had been driven to the Capitol, where he would either (according to Mark Meadows and Rudy Giuliani) give another speech outside the Capitol or go "into the House chamber."

Stop and think about that for a moment. What would have happened if he had gotten his way? Would we have seen Trump's Secret Service detail fighting Capitol Hill policemen? Would Trump have tried to order the cops guarding the Capitol to stand down? What would have happened to Mike Pence? Frightening thoughts indeed....

Hutchinson then reported a conversation she had had with a Secret Service agent after everyone got back to the White House. He asked her: "Did you effing hear what happened in the Beast?" [The "Beast" is the term used for the president's armored car, his personal transport.]

She was told that Trump thought they were going to the Capitol when he got in the car. Robert ("Bobby") Engel, the head of the Secret Service detail for Trump told him: "We're not." Trump had a "very strong, very angry response to that," and was "irate." Here's what happened next:

The president said something to the effect of: "I'm the effing president, take me up to the Capitol now." To which [Secret Service agent Bobby Engel] responded: "Sir, we have to go back to the West Wing." The president reached up toward the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm and said: "Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel, we're going back to the West Wing. We're not going to the Capitol."

Trump then made a "lunge" for Bobby Engel's "clavicles" and had to be further restrained.

The first segment of the hearings wrapped up with more stories of Trump's unhinged behavior. After Bill Barr told a reporter that the Justice Department simply had no evidence of voter fraud on any widespread scale, Trump was so furious that he apparently hurled his lunch at the wall. Hutchinson testified that she went into his dining room afterwards, and found the server picking up the pieces of a broken china plate under "ketchup dripping down the wall." She grabbed a towel and "started wiping ketchup off the wall."

You know, just like a 2-year-old throwing a tantrum would do.

Here is how HuffPost transcribed this testimony:

I remember hearing noise coming from down the hallway, so I poked my head out of the office and I saw the valet walking towards our office. He had said, "Get the chief down to the dining room; the president wants him." So Mark [Meadows] went down to the dining room [and] came back to the office a few minutes later.

After Mark had returned, I left the office and went down to the dining room, and I noticed that the door was propped open and the valet was inside the dining room changing the tablecloth off of the dining room table. He motioned for me to come in and then pointed towards the front of the room near the fireplace mantel on the TV, where I first noticed there was ketchup dripping down the wall, and there was a shattered porcelain plate on the floor.

The valet had articulated that the president was extremely angry at the attorney general's AP interview and had thrown his lunch against the wall, which was causing them to have to clean up, so I grabbed a towel and started wiping the ketchup off of the wall to help the valet out. And he said something to the effect of, "He's really ticked off about this, so I would stay clear of him for right now. He's really, really ticked off about this right now."

There were several times throughout my tenure with the chief of staff that I was aware of him either throwing dishes or flipping the tablecloth to let all the contents at the table go onto the floor and likely break or go everywhere.

In other words, he had these man-baby tantrums on a regular basis.

This ended the first half of today's hearing, exactly one hour after it began. A 10-minute recess was called and, 15 minutes later, the hearing resumed.

The second part of the hearing got underway with a few questions about Roger Stone and General Michael Flynn -- both of whom had to be pardoned or their sentence commuted by Trump for federal crimes unrelated to January 6th, Cheney helpfully pointed out. She played a clip of Flynn exercising his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself, including (astonishingly) taking the Fifth to the question: "Do you believe in the peaceful transfer of power?" Flynn couldn't honestly answer that under oath, which certainly says something.

When asked about the events at around 2:00 P.M. on January 6th, Hutchinson testified that she tried to get her boss Mark Meadows to care about the fact that the United States Capitol was under violent attack: "Hey, are you watching the TV, chief?... The rioters are getting really close. Have you talked to the president?" The answer she got: "No, he wants to be alone right now."

Hutchinson then got frustrated: "I remember thinking in that moment, Mark needs to snap out of this and I don’t know how to snap him out of this. He needs to care."

But he didn't. Until Pat Cipollone barrelled into his office:

I remember Pat saying to [Meadows], something to the effect of: "The rioters have gotten to the Capitol, Mark, we need to go down and see the president now." And Mark looked up at and said, "He doesn't want to do anything, Pat."

Cipollone responded forcefully: "Mark, something needs to be done or people are going to die and the blood is going to be on your effing hands. This is getting out of control. I'm going down there."

What all this shows is that a competent White House chief of staff might have actually done something proactive to stop the events of January 6th, but that did not happen. Trump had already hired and fired many chiefs, and he wound up with Mark Meadows precisely because he was spineless and had no leadership qualities to speak of.

Hutchinson later heard part of the meeting between Cipollone, Meadows, and Trump, as she brought a phone to her boss so he could talk with Jim Jordan, who was down at the Capitol. This was the precise moment when the "Hang Mike Pence!" chant could be heard on the televisions. When Meadows and Cipollone returned to the office after the meeting, Cipollone told her Trump was "calling for the vice president to be effing hung." This was because: "He thinks Mike deserves it. He doesn't think they're doing anything wrong." Minutes later, Trump tweeted out his displeasure with Pence, which just whipped the crowd into an even bigger frenzy.

Hutchinson reported her own feelings, at that point: "As an American, I was disgusted. It was unpatriotic. It was un-American. We were watching the Capitol building get defaced over a lie." Others felt the same, and excerpts from a few of the resignation letters Trump got that day were read into evidence, including one which flat-out said: "I read that tweet, and made the decision to resign." Two cabinet members -- Betsy DeVos and Elaine Chao -- also resigned.

Hutchinson laid out three groups of people in the White House, one group who urged Trump to take swift and decisive action (which included both Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner), one group who was somehow "neutral" and appeared content to just keep their heads down, and one group who wanted the strategy to be "deflect and blame."

Trump was very reluctant to record a video or issue any kind of statement telling the insurrectionists to leave the Capitol and go home. He finally did release a video at 4:17, where he told the rioters: "We love you, you're very special."

Hutchinson recounted how Trump was also very reluctant to give a speech the next day, and pushed back on the text he would be expected to read. He still didn't think the mob "did anything wrong," and Trump refused to condemn the violence in any way. He also pushed to include a line in the speech offering pardons to everyone involved. Mark Meadows also wanted this language in the speech, which isn't too surprising since Mark Meadows (as well as plenty of others, including Rudy Giuliani) wanted a pardon from Trump, just in case he was ever called to account for his actions (and inaction).

This was the final bombshell of the day, and Cheney and Thompson then wrapped up the proceedings.

Conclusion

Cheney used her closing remarks to issue a rather vague warning. She did not use the names of anyone involved, but she read a few statements from witnesses the committee had called. They read exactly like a witness in a RICO case being threatened by a mob boss, as previously mentioned. Cheney stated: "I think most Americans know that attempting to influence witnesses to testify untruthfully presents very serious concerns," but didn't make any explicit promises about what the committee would do with any potential witness tampering or intimidation.

It is all of a piece. Donald Trump hates to be told "No." When he is told that reality is not the same as the fantasy world he lives in within his own brain, he lashes out. He throws things. He grabs for a steering wheel. He attacks the Secret Service agent who is supposed to be protecting him. That right there would seem to be a federal crime -- not the most serious uncovered by this investigation, but perhaps the easiest to prove.

Donald Trump was told there were weapons being carried by people in the crowd who had come to hear him speak. He didn't care. He wanted to invite them into the rally anyway, weapons and all. He didn't care that the Capitol was being attacked. He didn't care that Mike Pence's life was in danger, and would most likely have been happy to see the mob hang him right outside the United States Capitol. Trump wanted to be leading the rioters, even inside the Capitol. He tried to wrestle away control of the steering wheel of the car that was driving him, throwing an absolute epic tantrum over being told he couldn't go. He threw his lunch at the wall when he heard Bill Barr tell the American public that the Big Lie was indeed a big lie. He was actually known for throwing his food around in this fashion, because apparently it was a regular occurrence. The only thing he really cared about that day was that his crowd was as big as possible, for the television cameras.

There is only one possible conclusion after hearing the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson. It was revealed today that the Secret Service moniker for Trump was "MOGUL." But realistically, it should have been "BIG BABY."

There is only one possible conclusion after hearing the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson.

You cannot say you weren't given ample warning since I gave you a preview 18 days prior:

Upcoming testimony not to be missed: Cassidy Hutchinson, Executive Assistant to Mark Meadows and eyewitness to lots of things. She (reportedly) told the January 6th Committee that she was eyewitness to Mark Meadows incinerating documents after he met with Rep. Scott Perry after the 2020 election. As you may remember, the House committee released testimony in April that Hutchinson named Perry, Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Lauren Boebert as the members of Congress "who were raising the idea of the vice president doing anything other than just counting electoral votes on January the 6th." She also testified that Perry had vocally supported the idea of urging Trump's supporters on a march toward the Capitol. She also testified about another meeting wherein she witnessed Republicans discussing delaying the joint session of Congress (illegal). She testified that that meeting was attended by Jordan and Greene as well as at least nine other Republican lawmakers.

On May 25, Politico reported that the Jan. 6 select committee heard testimony indicating that Meadows heard Trump say something supportive about those who were chanting "hang Mike Pence" during the riot. A witness told the committee that Meadows had been in the dining room off the Oval Office when Trump made the comment and that Meadows told people nearby "that Trump had signaled a positive view of the prospect of hanging the vice president."

Secret Service code names are one word. Better to go with one of the following for the Tiny-Handed, Cheeto-Faced, Diaper-Wearing Shitgibbon:

"INFANT" -- Defined as 29 days to 24 months
"NEONATE" -- Defined as 0-28 days
"ZYGOTE" -- Defined as a "baby" but only by stupid people.

Hispanics are not happy with Joe Biden. According to a Quinnipiac poll last week asking if voters approve or disapprove of Biden’s handling of the Presidency, only a dismal 29% of Hispanics approve; disapproval is up to 53%. Biden’s cratering numbers aren’t surprising, since Hispanics have been shifting Rightward for the better part of two years now, but the 29% approval is shocking at first glance. Hispanics, a reliable Democratic voting bloc for decades, have turned their backs on Biden and the Democrats.

The truth is that the Hispanic-Democratic relationship was always a tenuous one. The fracturing dates back to the Trump Presidency. The progressive-led Democratic Party obsessed with woke cultural transformation has been diametrically opposed to the cultural pragmatism favoured by working-class Hispanics for some time now.

In other words, about what you’d expect from hysterical Democrats who hate America and want to destroy every institution they cannot control...

But the PTDS suffers amongst the GOP???

That's a whole 'nother kettle of fish... The lying and dishonesty of the Trump/America haters is downright treasonous...

If it hadn't been for President Trump, the Roe v Wade and Democrat Eugenics v Casey would still be the law of the land..

One would think that those Trump/America haters on the right would at least give credit to President Trump..

But, they are too sick with PTDS to think rationally...

That much is obvious to even the most politically naïve American....

I Was Wrong About Trump. He Didn’t Destroy the GOP, He Saved It

When the Republican Party formally nominated Donald Trump four years ago at the national convention in Cleveland, I thought the GOP was making huge mistake. It seemed Trump would certainly lose in November, and that every Republican officeholder who climbed aboard the Trump train that summer would be purged from whatever came after his inevitable defeat. It would be the end of the GOP as we knew it.

I was wrong about all of that—and in hindsight, I’m glad I was wrong.

Kelley has a lot of money.. But that won't make much difference because Arizona is a border state and the massive frak up that is Biden's Handlers' illegal immigration debacle is going to drag Kelley down..

Hutchinson, a former top aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, testified to lawmakers Tuesday that Ornato told her former President Donald Trump repeatedly demanded that the Secret Service take him to the Capitol on January 6. Ornato further told Hutchinson, according to her, that Trump lunged at a Secret Service agent and tried to grab the wheel of a presidential SUV when agents would not allow that.

However, a source close to Ornato told Fox News that Ornato watched the hearing yesterday and was shocked when Cassidy made the allegation about the steering wheel.

Both Bobby Engel, the top agent on Trump's Secret Service detail who was in the car, and Ornato, who was not in the car, testified to the January 6 Committee in private over the past year, the source close to Ornato said.

Not everything with a "heartbeat" has sensations. (Actually the "heartbeat" in question is just some vaguely-rhythmic electrical activity, at the point where the ultra-authoritarians want to call it one, well before there's a heart at all.) And not everything with sensation is a person.

Murder, despite your and PeTA's rhetoric to the contrary, involves the intent to kill a person. Not a steer. (Maybe if the perpetrator considers the steer to be a person? Nah, not even then.)

On the other hand, if a person is undergoing a heart transplant, and doesn't have a heartbeat or sensations at that moment because they're under general anesthesia and their atherosclerotic heart has been removed but the new donor heart hasn't been implanted yet, it's still murder if you kill them by intentionally interrupting the surgery.

Anyway, onward to what I dropped by to say:

Broaden the war. Russia maintains its empire by threat, but is now overextended in Ukraine. It does not have the wherewithal to make good on that threat in other vassal states and occupied territories. To resolve the current crisis with minimum bloodshed, we should act on a broader front than Russia is capable of responding on. We should empower Georgia to reestablish de-facto sovereignty over Abkhazia and South Ossetia. We should seek to enable color revolutions in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. We should support pro-China factions in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. We should use the power of the purse to support the further development of Turkish arms manufacture in exchange for normalization of relations with Armenia.

I'm probably wrong about the specifics. The point is that we have a variety of options for how we approach each vassal state in the Russian Empire. No country wants to be part of a foreign empire. All are held there by the threat of mass murder. So an empire has only one card to play. An outside agent, though, can respond separately to the different conditions in each vassal state.

In the long run, China and the West are each vastly stronger than Russia. As long as the other tacitly supports i, either can provide security against Russia to any country that joins the global international order. The same world order has both enabled China's rise and supported America's continued prosperity. China and the West would both be much worse off in the Hobbesian condition of empire against empire that Russia wants to impose on the world. That means that, although there will inevitably be points of disagreement, our interests fundamentally align with those of China. Now is the time to cooperate with China, and implement a response that (if we calibrate it right) China will loudly condemn in its entirely, while quietly supporting almost every detail -- as we do the same with the Chinese response if they calibrate theirs right.

New J6 Narrative About Trump And Secret Service Collapses Hours After Tuesday Hearing

Blockbuster testimony from former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson collapsed hours after Tuesday’s show trial hearing.

In her more than two-hours of uncorroborated commentary, just about all of which was based on hearsay, Hutchinson depicted an image of an unhinged president who was not only complicit in his supporters ransacking the Capitol but was eager to attend the spectacle.

Moments after the Hutchinson’s testimony, NBC’s Chief White House Correspondent Peter Alexander reported “a source close to the Secret Service tells me both Bobby Engel, the lead agent, and the presidential limousine/SUV driver are prepared to testify under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel.”

CBS News followed up with “confirmation” of the agency’s categorical denial, likely from the same sources.

Hours later, another pillar of Hutchinson’s testimony fell apart when a spokesman for Former White House lawyer Eric Herschmann told ABC News a handwritten note for which Hutchinson claimed authorship was actually written by Herschmann.

The note, displayed by Cheney as an exhibit, included a statement for the president to read as the riot unfolded on Capitol Hill.

“The handwritten note that Cassidy Hutchinson testified was written by her was in fact written by Eric Herschmann on January 6, 2021,” a spokesperson for Herschmann told ABC News Tuesday night. “All sources with direct knowledge and law enforcement have and will confirm that it was written by Mr. Herschmann.”

Why aren’t they saying that they are willing to testify that Trump didn’t throw a tantrum about not getting to lead the insurrection in person? Oh. One more thing...

WOW! Anyone who bothered to watch her testimony could have told you that she was testifying to what what she was told by Secret Service agents… not that she witnessed it firsthand.

Not factually accurate... Even the moderator of Weigantia here said in the commentary that the lyin' biatch's testimony was "first person"...

So, you are WRONG, Russ.. :D As usual... :D

On another note, you caught up with Strange New Worlds yet??? :D

    OK NOW... ni ni :D

sorry i don't always have a minute to read and respond during the day, but i'll try to be brief:

there's no documented evidence yet to contradict what Cassidy Hutchinson said, just a vague report that the secret service members who were present may testify to something different from her account. as far as i'm aware, the only part of her testimony that's hearsay is about what happened in the limo on the way back from the speech on january 6th. the rest is her direct experience, and there's zero evidence contrary to any other part of her testimony.

hearsay may or may not be accurate, which is why it requires extra corroboration and isn't always accepted as evidence in a court of law. you're entitled to hope that her evidence will be refuted in its entirety, but that doesn't seem likely. at worst (or at best from your perspective), someone told her a story they'd misheard. that doesn't negate the plate throwing, table tossing, wiping ketchup from the wall, or even that donald asked to go to the capital and had to be convinced otherwise by his security detail.

AHHHHH So NOW the OTHER SHOE drops..

This moron Trump Hater has NOW walked back her claims..

In fact, she most assuredly did not walk back her claims even a scintilla.

She wasn't testifying to what she WITNESSED...

She testified to WHAT SHE WAS TOLD!!!

She gave a lot of testimony. The vast majority of it was actually what she witnessed. As for the incident in the vehicle, it appears your usual lack of reading comprehension and perpetual ignorance regarding simple English has confused you again.

Hutchinson then reported a conversation she had had with a Secret Service agent after everyone got back to the White House.

    Reading is fundamental.

It appears you spent all day confused about the facts. #SSDD

“Ms. Hutchinson testified, under oath, and recounted what she was told.”

Thanks for confirming your usual confusion. It also appears you missed the part where she also testified that the person who was in the vehicle with Trump (eyewitness) was present at the time and did not dispute a single word of what she was told.

    IE Hearsay....

Not refuted at the time by the person who was actually in the vehicle who was actually standing there when it was relayed to her: Tony Ornato.

Tony Ornato worked as Trump's security detail leader, the number one guy protecting him. Trump liked this Secret Service agent Ornato so much that he gave him a political job in the White House... which broke every Secret Service tradition in the book about fraternizing. Ornato remained a Secret Service employee while Trump employed him politically to direct the Secret Service at Trump's campaign events, political rallies, and photo opportunities, including the forcible clearing of peaceful protesters from Lafayette Square.

Ornato denied that Lafayette Square was cleared of peaceful protesters for a preplanned photo op; this is a lie. Anyone who thinks Ivanka carries around a very large Bible in her purse all the time and just so happened to have it on hand for Daddy to foist into the air (upside down like a fool)... I got a bridge to sell you. Ornato was at the center of the planning of that Trump photo op at the church.

Perhaps the eyewitness embellished the story. Who knows? Ornato knows, and he was there and didn't deny it, but he's also a known liar and Trump loyalist. What isn't in dispute is that Trump was irate when the SS wouldn't allow him to join the mob he just sent to the capitol (which was a preplanned conspiracy) with Trump knowing full well at the time that they were armed and dangerous.

As anyone paying attention to all the testimony could observe, the Committee obviously wants to question White House Counsel and these Secret Service agents under oath. They obviously know more already.

At the end of the last hearing, they dangled the fact that witnesses are being tampered with (illegal) and that the Committe is well aware. As Speak2 so rightly noted above, they also implored those who wanted to add to their sworn testimony to come on down. If anyone thinks this was an accident, I got a bridge to sell you.

    :eyeroll:

Keep rolling your eyes; maybe you'll find a brain back there. :)
