Program Note

[ Posted Wednesday, March 27th, 2019 – 16:34 UTC ]

I've got some bad news, I'm afraid. Monday, I thought I was out of the woods and all better once again. Tuesday, however, I started a relapse and was barely able to get a column that made any sense out. Today, I know what I want to write about, but putting the words on the page has proven impossible. I wake up, am coherent for about 15-30 minutes, and then get so exhausted that I have to go back to sleep again. This has cycled all throughout the day, and it seems to be getting worse. So my apologies once again, but there will be no new column today. While I thought I was done with the flu, apparently it is not done with me yet. I'm taking this day by day, and have no idea what tomorrow will bring, folks, so I'm going to have to ask you for some additional patience while I fight to get well once again.

Flu relapses are all too common, I fear--people feel ok until they try to get back to things and then discover they aren't ok after all. Take it easy, don't rush it. Plenty of fluids, food little and often, as appetite allows. REST.

Luckily, I am a lucid dreamer, so it made sleeping that much a little more enjoyable. Get well!

Meanwhile, the Suppress-Mueller-Report operation continues. Blotus tells Hannity if he'd had Barr instead of Sessions the investigation would never have happened - Hannity purrs. The Bad Guys are winning! They have money, they have power and they have no consciences. America is now the country for sociopaths!

Barr will go down in history as a conscienceless tool of the most corrupt potus backed by the most cowardly dishonest party in American history.

And unless Mueller eventually makes a move or a move is made due to him, his reputation will be forever compromised. What does it matter that he ran a clean investigation if his results won't be shared?

Of course, the fact that they aren't releasing the report puts the lie to the screams of "exoneration!" we're hearing from the GOP.

Only the deplorables believe Barr - the rest of the country sees the cover-up for what it is.

Many people say we need to focus on 2020 and "vote" the bastard out. But that relies on fair elections - no cheating.

This report isn't just about DJT's collusion - it's about Russian interference in our election. This administration is suppressing our knowledge of that so that it can happen again. Why would we believe anything else? They've stopped all efforts to combat cyberwarfare.

Our democracy is being taken apart piece by piece, courtesy of Blotus, GOP, and deplorables.

You are going to need those Deplorables' votes if you entertain even the SLIGHTEST hope of taking the White House..

Attacking and vilifying voters who don't agree with you is NOT the way you win them over.

Paula just nailed it in her next-to-last paragraph - Trump and the Russians are making us stoopid.

If that is actually your interpretation of that paragraph, then it looks like you might have missed her point. I believe Paula is saying that regardless of the part of the investigation pertaining to whether or not Mueller found evidence of anyone's involvement that met the penultimate threshold of "beyond a reasonable doubt," there is a counterintelligence component regarding facts regarding Russia's methods. You know, if you want to fix a problem, you isolate it first and then do something about it. Americans deserve something done about it versus the POTUS insisting it's all a "hoax" and turning a blind eye to it and doing nothing.

But remember, that only applies to the crazies deeply immersed in "social media" (Facebook). That means there are probably only two sane people on this board - CW and me!!!

If not being on Facebook and social media are your criteria for "sane people," then I regret to inform you that you and CW aren't alone in that regard. The collection of data... "datamining"... is a lucrative business and has been for decades; however, in this day and age, people are just giving away their personal information on social media sites while they are laughing all the way to the bank... the offshore bank. :)

They're just wasting their time... just more kneejerk reactions from the biggest victims on the planet. It was a coordinated effort ordered by Trump. I have a copy of the talking points. Same shit, different day.

The stench of the cover-up gets more powerful as Repubs get in line and begin attacking Dems for even looking into the matter.

Trump's standard politics of "grievance"... SSDD. Well, Mueller isn't a "Dem" looking into the matter, and when he found actionable crimes that rose to the level he could prosecute, he handed them off to other prosecutors. Those cases are still being prosecuted. :)

No names were given in the indictment, so I wonder if Mueller’s report will tell us who the mystery traitor is?

Yes, sir. That "speaking indictment" revealed that on August 15, 2016, the conspirators (GRU) posing as "Guccifer 2.0" received a request for stolen documents from a congressional candidate. The Russian operatives responded to the request and sent the candidate the stolen documents.

You'd think this fact would be a giant honking clue, wouldn't you? The GRU didn't just hack the DNC computers, though; they also hacked into some GOP computers.

    Mueller knows. :)

[20] nypoet22: Not so sure. If Mueller just handed over to the bad guys evidence that would harm the bad guys and then just sits there and lets the bad guys bury it, I guess you can call that "doing his job". But I don't think history will see it that way.

Evil happens when good people sit by and do nothing.

Meanwhile Comey didn't "do his job". He made a bad decision to play politics about HRC while sitting on the info that Russians were interfering AND that DJT was already under investigation.

The notion that if you piss off everyone you're doing your job needs to be retired. It's just another way of saying you won't make a judgement on merits. It's an evasion. It's cowardly.

    So, there's that...
