Welcome back to ChrisWeigant.com. As you can see, things look a little different.
For those of you that have been wondering, I tried to update people with tweets, but not everyone uses social media, so I’ll recap what happened. Last Wednesday, an artificial intelligence program blasted out a serious security flaw in the underlying computer code which runs this (and most of the world’s) website. So my ISP forcibly upgraded the code (PHP), which promptly broke the site.
So I am being forced into doing what I’ve been promising for years now — a true upgrade to the site’s look and functionality. But we’re not there yet. What this is (what you see now) is a temporary site that will be active for the next few weeks. The whole fiasco could not have come at a worse time (obviously) since the midterm elections are now only one week away. So I’m going to just use this rather stripped-down and clunky version of the site until we get past that point.
I apologize for the lack of functionality, and the lack of the whole history of the site (all the old columns). Please just be patient for a while and we’ll try to get everything working and running after the election circus is over.
For now, I am going to post the column I wrote for last Wednesday. And then hopefully I will be able to write a new column for today, too. My sincere apologies for the interruption in service here, and for the rather temporary nature of the site right now. Please be patient, and soon enough we’ll have things up and working once again. Thank you to all my loyal readers for sticking with me during the whole process, too!
