As to Boaty McBoatFace, the County actually picked this as a finalist (it made the commissioners laugh) and drew the attention of everyone who saw it. I haven't looked for pictures of voters out and about with these stickers, but I bet these started lots of conversations.

The county was trying to "engage youth" in the voting process with this contest. They may not have expected it to go viral, but they plan to run a similar contest this year, I believe, for any ballot items that arise. I plan to check in on that. Should be wild.

As of 11:00 a.m. on Nov. 9, the Washoe County registrar of voters office reported it has processed and counted 40,166 of the 79,351 mail ballots that were received prior to Election Day.

That leaves 39,185 mail ballots received prior to Election Day still to be counted. In addition, the registrar of voters office reported receiving 18,479 mail ballots on Election Day.

Here is the party breakdown of the 18,479 mail ballots received on Election Day:

Democratic: 5,961
Republican: 6,226
Nonpartisan/other: 6,292

In total, that leaves 57,664 mail ballots that have arrived at the county registrar's office still to be counted.

There was a huge election day turnout in the rurals. Clark County usually has enough election day turnout to overtake the rurals... but not so this midterms.

The remaining votes to be counted are mail-in ballots which naturally heavily favor Democrats... just better hope/pray there are at minimum 100,000 outstanding mail-in ballots... the more outstanding mail, the better.

PLUS monthly impeachments of Biden, HeadBoard (or, if you prefer, Horizontal) Harris, and various Cabinet Critters...

Meaningless in the grand scheme of things but it's the race I'm closely watching. Hall screwed up just about every election she has run including this one as she has announced that beyond the initial reporting of results so far, there will be no updates until 6pm tomorrow. But aside from that I had to go through her office to get a deed transferred to a trust and even though my letter was drawn up by a lawyer, it took three visits, each requiring a notary to notarize the updated letter as no nit was left unpicked by Hall's office... this one is personal.

I blew it this year again. I only remember about half the time... I have a Hallowe'en banner too (all of them were done by our long-missed in-house cartoonist). But I forgot to put it up! And it's not subtle (like the White House one was)!
