I want to see progressives and D.S.A. candidates win, and I want to see establishment and mainstream candidates win. I say this because if all of the various wings and factions within the Democratic Party manage some victories here and there, then this will largely avoid a huge round of finger-pointing and blame-gaming. If one faction or the other does well but the other one doesn’t, that could exacerbate the rift between the two, so I am hoping that won’t even be possible because Democrats do well across the board.

Right now, even before the results come in, we are actually experiencing a rare and brief moment of total Democratic Party unity. Because everyone in the party — progressive, establishment, lefty, centrist, Democratic socialist, whatever — has now come together to speak with one voice.

One voice condemning in the worst possible terms the betrayal by Representative Haley Stevens in Michigan.
