Due to a sudden and unexpected wedding, there will be no column today, sorry. One of my oldest and best friends decided to tie the knot unexpectedly, so my presence was required elsewhere. Congratulations to the happy couple! My apologies for the interruption in service, and fresh columns will resume tomorrow.

The end of the saga! My apologies once again for the lack of new column today, but this will be the last time (for this particular reason, at any rate). Spent the day dealing with the car again, but the transmission has now been rebuilt and it's charging around as good as new. [...]
The saga of the transmission continues, which once again ate up my whole day. I will try to get to answering some comments later (something I've been lax at this past week), but my apologies once again as there will be no new column today.

There will be no new column today, sorry. For the next two days, this site will be undergoing a technical upgrade, which should (knock wood) be completely transparent to you. However, it is an extensive operation, so I can't make any promises.

My apologies, but I've been having massive upgrade/router/modem/ISP problems all day today, so there will be no new column. Sad to say, tomorrow's column is also at risk of not appearing. I'll do my best, but at this point can't make any promises....
