And to end on another head-scratching note, a Republican congressman from New Jersey has been missing in action for almost three months now.

If I was a betting man, I would wager he had a stroke.

He claims he's dealing with a "medical issue" and will be back to work in a few weeks, but here it is three months later and no further details have been given.

My Magic 8 Ball has confirmed that he had a stroke.

So the New York Times went on an old-fashioned journalistic-shoe-leather hunt for him, but couldn't find hide nor hair of him anywhere.

Should have used a Magic 8 Ball, what with the price of jet fuel and everything. :)

Trump dared to compare it to the Eiffel Tower (which was initially supposed to be dismantled after the world's fair it was built for was over).

Incorrect history as relayed by Donald Trump.

Many don't know that it was supposed to be taken down immediately after the World's Fair.

~ Donald Trump

Totally false!

The facts: "La Tour Eiffel" was completed in 1889 to serve as a grand gateway entrance for the World's Fair and had a two decade permit and scheduled for demolition 20 years later in 1909. Gustave Eiffel saved the tower by self-funding and promoting its scientific worth. He installed a military wireless telegraph and weather equipment at the top and performed radio experiments and was subsequently granted a 70-year extension on the permit after proving the scientific value.

Fast forward to August 1944 during World War II where Adolph Hitler ordered Dietrich von Choltitz to blow up the tower upon exit from an over four-year occupation of Paris; however, the French Resistance had disabled the elevator cables wherein the Germans would have had to climb over a thousand stairs in order to rig it to blow... which didn't happen, and the rest is history.

Question everything Trump says because he lies like he breathes and has been proven repeatedly to be exponentially ignorant of history and to just make things up in order to suit his own self-serving agenda.

On the bright side, Trump can recognize animals on a MoCA test that is designed to screen those who exhibit cognitive decline for signs of dementia.

And I missed this news, so retro-actively nominate the Democratically-controlled legislature of Maine for MIDOW.
'Gov. Janet Mills has signed the supplemental budget, which includes a new tax on the wealthiest Mainers and makes the free community college program permanent.

The state budget calls for a 2 percent "millionaire’s tax" on an estimated 2,400 households.'

At least an honorable mention goes to the winner of the Democratic primary in New Jersey - or perhaps the voters who tuned out the hideously anti-Muslim disinformation.

'Adam Hamawy, a surgeon who became a hero of the pro-Palestine movement after treating patients in Gaza, is heading to Congress after winning a Democratic primary in southern New Jersey on Tuesday.
...
Republicans and pro-Israel groups launched attacks on Hamawy, tying him to the so-called “Blind Sheikh” convicted in connection with the 1995 bombing of the World Trade Center and with a medical charity Hamawy volunteered with during the Bosnian genocide that was later accused of being a front for Al-Qaeda. '

There's a political cartoon out there just waiting to be drawn. Picture a coat-check window, with a line of people in front of it. But instead of coats, the sign says "Spinal Check." The person behind the counter is handing the person they're waiting on a full spine, while saying: "Here you go, Senator! Once you get it reinstalled, you'll find it's really liberating to get your spine back!" ...or something along those lines.

An Elephant is showing a ripened pear to Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam is pointing at the Elephant while exclaiming: "I said, 'I want you to grow a PAIR!'" ;)
