We know for a fact that Trump's grip is slipping because the GOP grifters and talking heads are becoming shifters; they know which way the wind is blowing, and they're following.

As for the GOP primary voters, remember they are generally the Party faithful and the cult minions and definitely not to be confused with the Party as a whole. Obviously there are so many seats that are cracked and packed and gerrymandered, but for those seats that are still competitive, the Trump "stamp of approval" is a stench that is going to linger in the general election no matter how hard they try to extricate themselves from it.

A special election for state representative in Michigan last night saw the Democratic candidate win by about 20 points, whereas the prior election was about a 7-point win for the D's... another double-digit swing in a special election.

Midnight, Eastern time. This just in on the NY Times website:

[Head] "Most Trump-Backed Challengers Beat Indiana Incumbents Who Bucked Trump"

[Sub-head] "President Trump endorsed primary opponents against seven Republican lawmakers who opposed his redistricting push. At least five of the Trump-backed candidates have won their races."
