Well, that section on re-opening the Strait of Hormuz aged poorly. Already closed again with Iran citing the continued US blockade of Iranian ports as the reason. Not exactly a surprise, one would assume that Iran was under the belief that the US would respond to re-opening the Strait by ending the blockade, and since it didn't, they closed it right back up. I have to wonder if they made that decision based on something they were being told by US negotiators or simply based on their own hopes.

Here are a few honorable mentions that I noted this week:

Congressional Democrats are doing an effective job of highlighting the incompetency and smugness of Trump's underlings - and remember, many people attribute Bondi's forced exit, at least in part, to her disastrous appearances before Congress.

'ought, whose avoidance of congressional testimony over the past year led Democrats to put his face on a “MISSING” milk carton, was purportedly in front of the House Budget Committee to testify about President Donald Trump’s 2027 budget request. But Democrats took the opportunity to press their numerous grievances against Vought, a key architect of Project 2025.

Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.) pressed Vought on violating the Impoundment Control Act, which bars presidents from spending money on something Congress didn’t approve. It also bars presidents from blocking funds appropriated by Congress from going out.
