@kick,
the comic absurdity of their lies doesn't make them any less dangerous.

Yes, sir, and arguably makes them more dangerous with the ever-present false equivalency BS and right-wingnut race to the bottom conspiracy theory garbage that used to be considered right-wingnut fringe now being your standard operational mainstream right-wing idiocracy. #MoronsAreGoverningAmerica

Personally, I think Elizabeth Warren deserves MDDOW for her revised wealth tax proposal. Taxing unrealized gains is just a bad idea and likely unconstitutional, especially with the conservative supreme court. This has been hammered home with her new proposal. A new way to tax that will only effect the ultra wealthy billionaires, it will never affect me they said. I had an argument of time and further generations of politicians slowly chipping away to bring that new tax to the masses but felt it might be a little too slippery slope. Nope, they're speed running it. They don't even have a bill that would pass committee and it's already dropping that tax down to 50 million, two orders of magnitude closer. One more order of magnitude and it gets uncomfortably close to my retirement accounts. Big middle finger to Warren.

But it gets even worse. I noticed in 2024 Bernie's wealth tax helped get a lot of billionaires to contribute to Trump's campaign and assorted super PACs. A lot more 50 millionaires than billionaires...It also give the right wing punditry class a solid issue entering in to the midterms when they are desperately looking for one.

I think Elizabeth Warren is past her best buy date and needs to retire with all the other ancient democrats...

Maybe we need a new word for the way Donald Trump seems to be running the country: "chaocracy."

The shoe definitely fits him... despite the notable girth of the ginormous bilateral bloated cankles, almost as pathetic as his pathological perpetual neediness of praise and prizes stemming from his inherent insecurity requiring constant validation by whatever means necessary. #Lyin'King

Or maybe something along the lines of "Dicktocracy," as in: Dick Tater is a wannabe Dictator... the initials fit. #WannabeKing

Jon Stewart famously named it "bullshitocracy," the "premeditated, institutional bullshit designed to obscure and distract," large-scale systems designed to keep the public distracted and confused.

But the good news is this: Bullshitters have gotten pretty lazy, and their work is easily detected, and looking for it is kind of a pleasant way to pass the time, like an I spy of bullshit. So I say to you tonight, friends, the best defense against bullshit is vigilance. So, if you smell something, say something.

~ Jon Stewart

Get out and protest... and then sit back and behold the hysterical hypocritical low-info false equivalency right-wingnut weapon worshiping Second Amendment ammosexuals attack your First Amendment right to protest because it opposes their cult of Hair Dick Tater.

While I agree wholeheartedly with the MDDOW, let that NOT obscure the fact that, once again, Chris's glaring "blind spot" for one Senator persists. (Sadly, another Democrat joins the repeat offender for at least a dishonorable mention this week):
'The Senate voted Monday to confirm Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma to be the next Homeland Security secretary, ...
Democratic Sens. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania and Martin Heinrich of New Mexico voted to confirm Mullin.'

While the victory of Gregory in Trump's Florida House seat is delicious, the OTHER Democratic win in the Florida Senate seat is more impressive. He won with almost ZERO outside help, written off as "hopeless" by the state and national Democratic Party.
'In Hillsborough, Navy veteran Brian Nathan pulled off a narrow win in the race for a state Senate seat previously held by Republican Jay Collins.
...
According to the unofficial results, Nathan won by 408 votes, giving him a margin of about half a percentage point.'

The meat of TP #7 is perfect, but the TP itself? Meh!

How about "What could we have if Trump's bombing campaign hadn't happened?"

And if Democrats were smart, they'd rush out a "calculator":
insert "education" and the "free college education" - or "x thousand teachers for a year" or "free lunches for every student for x years" pops up;
insert "healthcare" and "Obamacare subsidies for every American for x years" or "free healthcare for every American child for x years" pops up;
etc

the dhs shutdown news is kind of amazing. completely contrary to their general tendencies, Democrats have been consistent and disciplined, while congressional Republicans and the White House have been the opposite of that.
