The big question is whether Trump is even interested in making such a deal, though. As the shutdown drags on and as the public is affected more and more (in a number of ways), public opinion could begin to shift against the Democrats in a big way. If that happens, then eventually the Democrats will likely have to fold and do what the Republicans want. That's the Republican path to success, as far as they are concerned..

Nonsense! Why would it change?

First, Republicans control all three branches of government and can even blow up the filibuster if they want. No one with a brain blames the party out of power, c’mon.

Second, what are the two parties holding out for? Democrats are holding out for affordable healthcare for twenty million Americans and seeing that no one goes hungry in the greatest nation ever.

And the Republicans? The exact opposite. And their OBBB is now down to 38% approval and sinking. So the longer this shutdown lasts the more Americans will wake up to this.

And forget Democrats needing Trump — he’s the Republican’s problem to manage. No one with a brain buys any so-called ironclad agreement with Trump. Trump is deteriorating by the week and cannot even speak normally.

Democrats CAVING would be the most stupid, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory choice. Only the DINOs would support this. Democrats have to show that they have a spine. For the people.

I just really think you mailed this one in, Chris, by regurgitating essentially conventional wisdom. As though normal politics still happened.
