Here's another fully live performance that was NOT post-performance edited before being uploaded to YouTube.

The human emotion just oozes ...

Yes. I have been trying to find a fan-shot video of the WHOLE song but it doesn't seem to exist.

I love what she did, though!

Here is a rare example of a fully live performance that was officially uploaded to YouTube where the fully live vocals were NOT edited by digital pitch correction.

The truly great thing about this is that we get to hear the very same actual live vocals that the live audience heard with all the nuances and expression and emotional impact that go along with experiencing a fully live performance!

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V_sB6iMDmY" rel="nofollow">10cc - I'm not In Love (BBC Radio 2 Piano Room, Feb 2025)</a>

Three cheers for the Beeb!

Not that there is anything wrong with a live performance being properly "sound-engineered", JL.

As a real music lover, I have always thought of the sound engineer as the most important person(s) at a live performance, aside from the artists themselves. I expect that they will use all of their tools and tricks of the trade to ensure the sound of the performance is amazing.

The problem with live performances these days - whether we are talking about new artists or ones who have been around forever - is that the artists are very often not providing fully live vocals but rather they are using Auto-Tune live or they are miming to lead vocals on backing tracks. This has become par for the course.

Worse still, even artists who are NOT calibrating their vocals to A440Hz standard tuning, equal temperament are not making this great selling feature known! I have a theory as to why that is.

And, if a fully live performance has been officially uploaded to YouTube, then you can almost count on the fact that what you are hearing is NOT the fully live lead vocal from the actual fully live performance but rather an audio file that has been digitally pitch-corrected and/or auto-tuned.

So, I have great respect, appreciation and admiration for the sound men (or women), just so long as they are committed to ensuring an amazing sound that features fully live lead vocals.

as an aside,<a href="https://youtu.be/JMPKDTyjFiA?si=qFwPh8xeqqHz_qF5" rel="nofollow"> THAT performance</a> was definitely NOT sound-engineered.

i couldn't find a complete, unedited version of nezza at the Dodgers game, but that was possibly even better.

Happy Independence Day, Chris!

And, as promised, I've been looking forward to posting this little treat for everyone in honour of the occasion of America's national anniversary of independence, celebrating an amazing 249 years.

Enjoy this amazing and fully live performance featuring fully live and authentic vocals!
