In the wake of the US attack on Iran's nuclear sites, Trump is calling for peace in the Middle East.

And the next step for Trump's needy ego will be to claim he brought about that "peace in the Middle East."

Does he understand what that would entail?

Good point... and in reality, of course he doesn't. In practice, he'll just keep repeating various assorted absolute nonsensical bullshit claims that are verifiably false, including the asinine idea that he brought about peace in the Middle East. As if.

Bolton is right. Donny Two Weeks said that there's a crisis because Iran is two weeks from having a nuclear bomb, but he'll wait two weeks to decide what to do about it. Dementia guy is a little confused.

He definitely stays confused, but Trump will generally do whatever he thinks will get him good news coverage on right-wing propaganda television despite the short-term or long-term consequences of his actions. Trump's needy ego is quite predictable. No matter the outcome, he'll claim success and peace in the Middle East. #SSDD

donald has made more than his share of boneheaded decisions as president this year. I'm not convinced that the decision to bomb nuclear facilities in Iran is one of them. for twenty years Iran has been coy about their intentions to build nuclear weapons and use them to obliterate Israel. while it's possible that the whole enterprise was a ploy for leverage, even most progressive Israeli jews wouldn't be willing to take that chance. if, as Barack Vancebama suggests, this military action is also primarily a bargaining tactic, it might well convince Tehran to finally deal with us more straightforwardly.

I suspected this would be the way it went, based upon prior evidence, but with Donald one truly never knows. even he himself probably doesn't know.

There's a good chance that Putin has told Donny Two Weeks to leave Iran alone. At the very least, they have been supplying him with drones for Ukraine and he's got his people working on their nukes.

He hijacked those guys who were putting up the flagpole and made them props for one of his political word salad hate speeches. He did the same thing to that soccer team. Neither group volunteered for that. Twice in one week.

I nominate these 7 Democratic Senators for retroactive dishonorable mention. They voted to confirm a confessed dog slaughterer to a Cabinet position, and now are expressing "regret".

'... seven Senate Democrats voted to confirm Kristi Noem to lead the Department of Homeland Security.

Nearly five months later, most of them are critical of her, with some going as far as to say they regret their votes.
...
"I'm very disappointed. I'm very disappointed in her," Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va. ...

Sen. Andy Kim, D-N.J., also said he would vote differently ...
the five other Democrats who voted to confirm Noem were Sens. Elissa Slotkin and Gary Peters, both of Michigan; Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen, both of New Hampshire; and John Fetterman of Pennsylvania.'

Sadly, the American media is perpetually fixated on the latest perpetrator's motive. The assassinations in MN are just one data point in devastating epidemic of gun violence in the U.S.; honorable mention must go to (my) Sen. Kelly for doing so.

'As the nation reels from the latest outbreak of political violence, the senator from Arizona and his wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords, recalled the horrific attack that tore apart their lives as they addressed an audience in Charleston, South Carolina, on the 10-year anniversary of the mass killing at Mother Emanuel AME church.

The senator went on during the hour-long forum to highlight the nation’s seemingly unyielding frequency of gun violence, ...'
