All they can do is mock their opponents with threats that the 2026 mid-terms will be payback for a highly unpopular tax and spending policy that will go into effect by mid-year 2025.

But what will the actual effects be, in mid-2025, if this budget framework holds together? Who is going to suffer? Who is going to die? Are the Republicans fooling themselves about the consequences of cutting Medicaid and other social welfare programs?
