But this letter suggests that the IG's are going to just ignore the president's announcement, as it seems they should.

Yes, sir. The president's actions are in clear violation of the plainly written law.

In no case should the president be allowed to break a federal law, no matter what the Supreme Court thinks, without a full legal review by the courts.

Agreed. Allow the courts to weigh in. Congress makes the laws, and the courts (including the SCOTUS) simply interpret them. The law Trump has obviously violated is written in plain language and isn't exactly rocket science:

If the courts determine the entire law -- as amended by Congress in 2022 -- to be unconstitutional (not bloody likely), let's hear the decision.

This article was reprinted without permission and conveniently omits the entire first paragraph.

See if you can spot why:

OK, we admit, we haven’t actually counted the number of reporters’ questions President Donald Trump has answered since being sworn in. And four years is certainly an exaggeration. In any case, someone covering the White House should keep track, because it won’t take long for Trump to beat Biden on this score.

The board's spamming troll conveniently omits the paragraph explaining it's bullshit.

Oh, the corruption is going to be unprecedented.

Undeniably.

Haha. The chief inspector general's reply to Trump's "you're fired": no I'm not.

It doesn’t matter — you can’t distinguish right-wing propaganda from reality and besides, have you EVER allowed ANY inconvenient fact to make the slightest difference whatsoever?

Fact combined with a rhetorical question (my favorite).
Point to MtnCaddy.

That’s why I’m sooo looking forward to a “block” function. It’s too bad — I’ve been searching for a coherent conservative for decades now. Someone to help me refine my Progressive beliefs.

Another great point. :)

[13]

INCONTROVERTIBLE FACT: The author of this blog on this website has given no commenter permission to re-post the entire opinions or articles of anyone, whether or not the original author of the piece allegedly "reprinted with permission" has actually given permission to reprint it in its entirety on his -- meaning Chris Weigant's -- website.

The author of this blog explains on his own website:

If you'd like to post a link to another article or site, you can do so easily, just by pasting it in (on its own separate line). Say you read an article that fits in with the discussion. Rather than copying and pasting the whole text of the article in as a comment (which is technically illegal if the article is copyrighted, and is severely frowned upon here, for wasting database space), you can just post a link to the article. Go to the article with your browser, and then copy the "http://www..." line at the top (copy the entire text of this line). Then come back here to post a comment, and paste the text in as a separate line.

INCONTROVERTIBLE FACT: One poster specifically has also been admonished personally not to post entire articles and is indeed one who continues to ignore the statements of this blog's author.

Only one external excerpt per comment. Period. And in that excerpt, only 3 paragraphs excerpted total. And that's using the original paragraphs, not mushing it all together in your own post. The length of your citations has also been very prominent in my complaints inbox.

Dude, this is not "Michale's daily reading list," it is the comments section for one of my articles, ok? Let's put things in perspective, shall we?

Trump isn’t rewriting the 14th Amendment; he’s applying the law as it is, based on its plain language and the Supreme Court’s existing precedent.

By Matthew Raymer
REPRINTED WITH PERMISSION

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit opined by Matthew Raymer. The Supreme Court's "existing precedent" has been reaffirmed multiple times since the SCOTUS's decision in 1898.

SCOTUS sided with Wong, but for a very important reason the plaintiffs fail to mention: Wong's parents were legal immigrants to the United States. The entire foundation of the plaintiffs’ argument — that SCOTUS has already upheld birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants by this decision — is therefore completely and obviously wrong.

No, that's most definitely not the "entire foundation" of the plaintiffs' argument. The plaintiffs also cite the law contained in the United States Constitution and the plain language of the law in the 14th Amendment therein that the SCOTUS interpreted in 1898. Not rocket science.

Also, there is no amount of right-wingnut opinion pieces posted/reprinted in their entirety on this website against the blog's author's wishes and without his permission -- including this bullshit from Matthew Raymer -- that can make the words "legal immigrants" magically appear in the Supreme Court's opinion in United States v. Wong Kim Ark.

Repeat: The phrase "legal immigrants" does not appear in the SCOTUS's decision from 1898 no matter how many times the right-wingnuts and the gullible regurgitating rubes make the claim. Likewise, the phrase "illegal immigrants" also does not exist in same said SCOTUS decision.

Rather than continuing to puke up the opinions of the right-wingnuts with an obvious political agenda, might I suggest actually reading the dang opinion of the actual SCOTUS from 1898? Yes, not only might I, in fact, I just did.

The opinion of the SCOTUS in U.S. v. Wong noted that before the Civil War, it was "beyond doubt... that all white persons, at least, born within the sovereignty of the United States, whether children of citizens or of foreigners, excepting only children of ambassadors or public ministers of a foreign government, were native-born citizens of the United States," and the SCOTUS held that the Fourteenth Amendment extended that principle to all persons "restricted only by place and jurisdiction, and not by color or race."

Additionally, the opinion of the SCOTUS recognized only three categories of people born on U.S. soil who could be classified as not being born "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States, those being:

(1) children born into membership in sovereign Indigenous nations; however, Congress most definitely later remedied this with the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924.

(2) children born to high-level foreign diplomats and immune from U.S. laws, and

(3) children born to "alien enemies" that were occupying territory that was fully taken over by a foreign power and made it no longer under the sovereignty of the United States.

Those are the exceptions written into the opinion.

In clear and distinguishable contrast, children born to illegal immigrants are not “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States, and therefore are not entitled to birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment, for the simple reason that the United States has not permitted them to be here. In other words, the relationship is not mutual.

Bullshit. As already mentioned above, the phrase "illegal immigrants" does not appear anywhere in the decision U.S. v. Wong; although, here are some words that actually do appear:

The real object of the fourteenth amendment of the constitution, in qualifying the words 'all persons born in the United States' by the addition 'and subject to the jurisdiction thereof,' would appear to have been to exclude, by the fewest and fittest words (besides children of members of the Indian tribes, standing in a peculiar relation to the national government, unknown to the common law), the two classes of cases, — children born of alien enemies in hostile occupation, and children of diplomatic representatives of a foreign state, — both of which, as has already been shown, by the law of England and by our own law, from the time of the first settlement of the English colonies in America, had been recognized exceptions to the fundamental rule of citizenship by birth within the country. Calvin's Case, 7 Coke, 1, 18b; Cockb. Nat. 7; Dicey, Confl. Laws, 177; Inglis v. Sailors' Snug Harbor, 3 Pet. 99, 155; 2 Kent, Comm. 39, 42.

The principles upon which each of those exceptions rests were long ago distinctly stated by this court.

SCOTUS decision, United States v. Wong Kim Ark

In their lawsuit, the 18 Democrat state AGs declare that the president “has no authority to rewrite or nullify a constitutional amendment or duly enacted statute.”

They are 100% correct.

But Trump isn’t rewriting the 14th Amendment; he’s applying the law as it is, based on its plain language and the Supreme Court’s existing precedent.

Bullshit. The "plain language" of the law in the 14th Amendment obviously says otherwise and was interpreted as such over 125 years ago.

In conclusion, I strongly suggest reading the opinion in its entirety and the words that do appear in it versus the asinine right-wingnut exercise of inventing words that don't actually appear in it and puking that bullshit up repeatedly and in its entirety against the wishes and rules of the blog's author.

Tell me.. Is EVERYONE up in CT a moron?? Or are you just a special case???

I get it.. Yer some lonesome Democrat moron who whines and cries because he lost at every thing he ever did...

What?? Twice divorced?? THREE time!!??

So, your only bright spot in your life is to get on a political blog and whine and cry about how you "ignore" me..

Pathetic...

Kicks the American working class's ass more like it.

Of course, you would think that..

Being that you hate America and all..

But the FACTS are much different..

As they usually are with retarded morons like you.. :eyeroll:

After forcing Colombia to back down, White House claims America is respected again

After hours of tensions with Bogota, the White House said **Colombia had agreed to accept migrant flights, including on military aircraft,** and that tariffs would be held off pending its implementation of the deal.

“Today’s events make clear to the world that America is respected again,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement late Sunday. “President Trump will continue to fiercely protect our nation’s sovereignty, and he expects all other nations of the world to fully cooperate in accepting the deportation of their citizens illegally present in the United States.”

Colombia’s foreign minister soon confirmed that US deportation flights had resumed. **Petro’s reversal represents a concession to US power and to Trump’s aggressive personal style.** It is also likely to embolden administration officials who see tariff threats not simply as a traditional device in trade disputes but as a tool to intimidate other nations, including longtime US allies, across a broader set of issues.

Why is it, Bashit, that I ALWAYS win against you and your claims are NOTHING but a manifestation of your Trump/America hate and you NEVER have any real facts to support your America hating claims??

Why is that???

Because who needs ethics anyway?

Who needs BASEMENT BIDEN'S ethics is the REAL question..

Trump has canceled Biden’s ethics rules.

Basement Biden "ethics" is like a "peaceful school shooter" or a "peaceful protest that kills people and destroys buildings"

Biden's "ethics" are an oxymoron that only a MORON like yourself would think actually exists..

Basement Biden "ethics" means using the Vice Presidency and the Presidency as a cash cow and extort people and then pardon his son when his son got caught, even though it was promised that no pardon would be issued...

And PRESIDENT Trump got rid of those "ethics" that ONLY a retarded Trump/America hating moron such as yourself would actually believe are even ethical let alone illegal.

Face reality, bashit...

You lost.. AGAIN...

Go away and lick your wounds... :eyeroll:

I PWN you...

From, you guessed it, 2/3 down on the article you failed to link to (FoxNews):

On Sunday afternoon, Petro issued a similar threat to Trump, claiming that he ordered his foreign trade minister "to raise tariffs on imports from the U.S. by 25%."

"The ministry should help direct our exports to the whole world other than the US," the translated post read. "Our exports should be expanded."

Later, Petro published a lengthy rant where he raised the tariffs to 50%.

Kicks the American working class's ass more like it. Raised medicine prices, eggs heading up, and now a likely price increase in coffee. But he can't be bothered, too busy taking the credit of others...

Columbia is fine taking civilian flights to repatriate migrants and takes over a hundred a year but not military flights. He held the line on dignified flights and sent his plane for a dignified return and not because he caved...

Yet, here in Oregon, I just paid $5.87 for 18 eggs. It's interesting how bird flu related increase in prices is regional do to the logistics of the egg industry.

nyp22 on [94]
Yes, I noticed this weekend when I bought 18 eggs it was about $10. Brought life to the reports I've been reading about the real effects of Avian Flu on the poultry and egg market.

On the other hand, at least the egg shelves were fully stocked this week. I remember last week when there were noticeably few containers on display.

Colombian leader quickly caves to Trump, offers presidential plane for deportation flights

Gustavo Petro initially refused to accept deportation flights

Colombian President Gustavo Petro offered his presidential plane to repatriate migrants coming back from the U.S. on Sunday in response to stern warnings made by President Donald Trump.

The move came after Trump hit the South American country with retaliatory measures in response to Petro's refusal to accept deportation flights. A former member of the M-19, which was a Marxist guerilla terrorist group that killed hundreds, Petro caved-in to Trump's demands with remarkable speed.

In a statement translated from Spanish, the Colombian government said that the plane will help facilitate a "dignified return."

Once again, PRESIDENT Trump kicks ass!!! :D

PRESIDENT Trump says, "JUMP!!" and world leaders ask "How high!??" on the way up!!!

The world is going to be a MUCH better place with PRESIDENT Trump in charge!

That deal was sitting there for almost a YEAR and Biden did NOTHING with it...

PRESIDENT Trump picked it up and a week later it was happening..

THIS is the fact that the Israelis acknowledge and this is the fact that even some progressive pundits have acknowledged...

But do Weigantians acknowledge this fact??

Of course not.. Ya'all are too entombed with yer PTDS and Trump/America hate to acknowledge the FACTS... The OBJECTIVE REALITY....

As I said... "Reality Based" my ass...

I am confused by your designation of Biden as Most Disappointing, etc., when you repeatedly express sympathy for and understanding of his choice to pre-emptively pardon those whom Trump has threatened to prosecute.

Notwithstanding all that you say in your post, it did not go unnoticed by me that CW posted last week when he also awarded Biden the "award" that it was "one last Most Disappointing Democrat Of The Week."

Somebody most definitely forgot that... and so soon too. :)

Anyone want to bet on how long it'll take before Elon Musk totally pisses off Trump and gets thrown under the MAGA bus?

Seems like two separate bets to me:
1. totally pisses off Trump
2. gets thrown under the MAGA bus

I would wager he's already totally pissed off Trump on multiple occasions, but as for getting thrown under the MAGA bus, I see someone has made the unfortunate miscalculation regarding Trump's ever-present coveting of, inherent love and unquenchable lust for money to the exclusion of generally everything else except fame/power.

So then, you might want to "factor in" that love/lust along with the following current facts:

* Musk has more than 400 times the money of Ramaswamy
* Ramaswamy makes Bannon look like a small investor
* Which two of the three have been thrown under the bus by Trump (and neither of them for the first time)?

So any takers? Let's say 'by June'... anyone want to take that bet?"

June? 2025? Seriously?

Musk and Putin are the living poster boys of the things which Trump longs to embody, and so I query:

Do you see any evidence of tire marks on Vladimir?

Trump throws people under the bus when he (thinks he) ceases to need them or they expose the criminal con that he is... or both. See, for instance, Michael Cohen.

June? 2025?

@m

when you give president Biden credit for the hostages who came home last week, as well as those who came home last year, then maybe I'll consider the value of Donald's contribution. I've never had a problem with his middle east policy though, that's a place where Donald's kind of politics fits right in.

Liberal Asheville's hippies warm to Trump after cold shoulder from Biden
Famously liberal city's hatred for Trump seems muted in the wake of Hurricane Helene
by David Marcus
REPRINTED WITH PERMISSION

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – To call this city of 95,000 a progressive bastion in a purple state is a significant understatement. This is the kind of place that would elect Che Guevera mayor if not for the fact that he was a cisgender male.

So how does a town full of raging lefties react when newly minted President Donald Trump not only shows up in the region devastated by Hurricane Helene, but brings with him millions in federal aid? Well, it's complicated.

Josh was a good example. At 41, he works at a brewery that has three locations. The one atop the hill in Asheville survived, the one near the river took two feet of water and is salvageable, and the one closest to the river took 20 feet of water, and its future is uncertain.

‘A BIG RELIEF’: NC RESIDENTS DESCRIBE MEETING WITH TRUMP AFTER FEELING ‘IGNORED’ POST-HURRICANE

Josh is no fan of Trump, but he also realizes just how much help this area needs, and did offer a somewhat begrudging appreciation of the bad orange man’s visit.

"We weren’t going to protest him," he told me. "In times like these, you have to look past politics."

Asheville
The people of Asheville are struggling to return to normal life, and helping each other get by. (Fox News Digital)

That might strike Trump supporters as ingratitude, but believe me when I say this represents a shift. It's not that Josh doesn’t still believe Trump is a fascist, or an existential threat to the Republic, but the sheer magnitude of the need in western North Carolina takes precedent.

It was a similar story with Corey, a self-described anarchist who moved from Maine to North Carolina just weeks before the storm. Now his truck is totaled. But as a welder, after a month of volunteer work, the rebuilding is keeping him busy and employed.

"He makes me miss George W. Bush, and I f--ckin' hated George W. Bush," Corey told me when the subject of Trump came up.

When I pressed Corey on why he has such disdain for Trump I heard a familiar answer. "He’s arrogant, he’s a bully, I just don’t like him." Yet, he went on to say, "We need the help."

This was the general attitude around town. The harshest criticism I heard of Trump and his visit was that it might be divisive, or politicize a situation where people had put politics aside. But even that critique seemed halfhearted.

Make no mistake, the hippies in Asheville won’t be trading in their ethically sourced Grateful Dead T-shirts for MAGA hats anytime soon. But they also aren’t setting their purple hair on fire over Trump, and that is new and welcome.

"I never thought it could be this way," Josh told me. "I have family that just doesn’t even talk anymore because of politics. It never used to be like that."

I asked if he thought that could be changing. After all, I pointed out, Trump can’t run again, to which he quipped, "for now." But he took my point, and even acknowledged that the Democrats are backing off some of their more excessive positions and moving to the center.

It is too soon to say that the temperature of the country is cooling down when it comes to politics. For almost a decade, hating Donald Trump has literally been a defining personality trait for many people. That won’t change on a dime, but in time, it could.

Trump was certainly not heralded as a hero here in Asheville, as he was just 25 minutes away in rural and red Swannanoa on Friday, but neither was there much evidence of him being held as a villain.

Trump supporters have been rightly overjoyed and enthralled by the president’s hyperactive first week, with its deluge of executive orders and almost overwhelming transparency from the talker-in-chief after four years of sleepy and silent Joe Biden.

But maybe the bigger story, quiet though it is, is that this time around, Trump will not face the headwinds of The Resistance, as he did in the past. Instead, many Trump haters, though Trump haters still, seem willing to give him a chance.

Is this a turn of a corner for our country? Can we go back to a time when we judged people based on their words and actions, not who they voted for? I hope so. Because that would be an America that is, frankly, unstoppable.

All the liberals are flocking to PRESIDENT Trump...

Woke Progressives are going to be left out in the cold!! :D

Not factually accurate..

PRESIDENT Trump is simply getting rid of all the Democrat America haters who work for the deep state and do everything in their power to hurt America...

PRESIDENT Trump was compassionate..

I would have taken them out and have them tried for treason...

As far as the low confidence part.. That's just PRESIDENT Trump's team being HONEST and STRAIGHT with the American people..

Considering that Basement Biden's (who??) CIA had a HIGH CONFIDENCE theory that turned out to be completely and utterly WRONG on every point, I think it's refreshing to have the CIA be HONEST with Americans..

One has to wonder how many Americans Basement Biden (who??) and Headboard Harris (who??) killed because their CIA was HIGHLY CONFIDENT yet was so completely and so totally wrong...

Once again, PRESIDENT Trump saves the day!!!!

Bashit, you lost.. In every way imaginable you and your fellow America hating Democrats lost.. :D

One of the benefits of PRESIDENT Trump's AWESOME Mandate-Setting win was that we would be able to find out about ALL the frak ups committed by Basement Biden (who??) and Headboard Harris (who??)...

Much like the American people found out all the nefarious crimes and immoral acts that Democrats and Twitter were committing and trying to commit...

Once patriotic Americans took over at the various agencies, there would be a HUGE paper trail that outlined all the Democrat crimes and unethical behavior..

And here we are!! :D

CIA shifts assessment on Covid origins, saying lab leak likely caused outbreak

The Central Intelligence Agency on Saturday said it has shifted its previous assessments and has concluded that it’s likely the Covid-19 virus was leaked from a Chinese lab before it became a global pandemic but added that the agency had “low confidence” in its judgment.

“CIA assesses with low confidence that a research-related origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is more likely than a natural origin based on the available body of reporting,” a CIA spokesperson said in a statement. “CIA continues to assess that both research-related and natural origin scenarios of the COVID-19 pandemic remain plausible.”

The spokesperson added that the agency has “low confidence in this judgement” and will continue to evaluate any new intelligence reporting or relevant information.

I am sure we're going to find out a LOT of BS that Democrats pulled under the banana republic junta that was Basement Biden (who??) and Headboard Harris (who??)...

It's a great time to be a patriotic American, iddn't it!? :D

And yet your posts are filled with hate.

In response to the hate-filled commentaries and comments that pollute Weigantia...

I have proven beyond ANY doubt that, when comments are sincere, respectful and free from hate..

I respond in the exact same vein...

If commentaries and comments are full of nothing but hate, bigotry and bile...

Well, I can do that too...

So, as I pointed out.. If you Democrats stopped the hate, then the hate would stop...

I realize that a Democrat who doesn't hate is a contradiction in terms...

Hate and bigotry are just a couple more of the defining characteristics of being a Democrat. As you yourself prove every comment..

If you woke progressive Democrats here in Weigantia would stop the hate and stop trying to drag my family into your flame wars....

Then Weigantia would be completely free of hate, barring the commentaries themselves..

I see the demented moron in chief is going full dumbass on foreign policy. Doubling down on taking territory from a NATO country (greenland). Wants to clear Gaza and move all the Palestinians to Egypt and Jordon (see black September as an example of why that is not going to happen). Still has eyes on Panama, Wants a regime change in the UK? WTF... Luckily Labor doesn't have to call an election until the bozo in chief is out of office. Unconstitutionally breaking treaties and fucking over allies while the dancing dipshit is courting the German far right. American exceptionalism he is not.

It's important to approach discussions about foreign policy with a clear understanding of the facts and the implications of our actions on the global stage. The statement you've made reflects a misunderstanding of the complexities involved in international relations and the strategic decisions made by the current administration.

First, let's address the claim about Greenland. The idea of purchasing Greenland was not a "demented" move but rather a strategic consideration rooted in national security and economic interests. Greenland is rich in resources and has significant geopolitical importance, especially in the context of Arctic exploration and military positioning. The previous administration's interest in Greenland was about securing American interests in a rapidly changing global landscape, not an act of aggression against a NATO ally.

The situation in Gaza is undeniably complex, but one must consider the safety and security of Israel as a paramount concern. The ongoing conflict poses a significant threat to Israeli lives, and the reality is that the current conditions in Gaza have led to a cycle of violence that endangers both Israelis and Palestinians. A strategic approach to resolving this conflict could involve relocating Palestinians from Gaza to ensure their safety and the security of Israel.

This move would not only protect Israeli citizens from the constant threat of rocket attacks and violence but could also provide Palestinians with the opportunity to build a more stable and prosperous future in a different environment. Historical precedents show that population relocations, while challenging, can lead to long-term peace and stability when managed correctly.

By facilitating a safe and organized transition for Palestinians, we can create a framework for lasting peace in the region. This approach would allow Israel to defend itself more effectively while also giving Palestinians a chance to thrive away from the conflict. Ultimately, prioritizing the safety of all individuals involved is essential for a secure and peaceful future in the region.

As for Panama, the U.S. has a long history of involvement in Central America, often driven by the need to combat drug trafficking and promote stability in the region. The notion of "regime change" is a mischaracterization of efforts to support democratic governance and counter authoritarian influences in the area. In other words, it's a moronic and bullshit claim without ANY facts or objective reality to back it up..

The claim about breaking treaties and courting the German far right is also out and out bullshit. The administration has prioritized American interests while navigating complex alliances. The focus has been on ensuring that NATO allies contribute their fair share to defense spending, which is a legitimate concern that has been raised by multiple administrations. This is not about undermining alliances but rather about reinforcing them through shared responsibility.

Lastly, American exceptionalism is not defined by the actions of one individual but by the principles of freedom, democracy, and the rule of law that the United States has championed for decades. The current administration's foreign policy reflects a commitment to these values, even in the face of criticism.

As anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together will tell you, it's crucial to engage in informed discussions about foreign policy, recognizing the nuances and complexities involved. Simplistic and moronic narratives do not do justice to the challenges we face on the global stage.

Trump Says He Wants to ‘Clean Out’ Gaza, Send Refugees to Egypt and Jordan

The president said the move could be temporary or long-term

TEL AVIV—President Trump said he wants to “clean out” the Gaza Strip and urged Jordan and Egypt to take in refugees either temporarily or for the long term, a move that has been rejected by Arab countries since the war began.

The president said he told King Abdullah II of Jordan in a phone call on Saturday that he wants the monarch’s country to receive Palestinians. He said he expected to make a similar request of Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in a coming phone call.

“You’re talking about a million and half people, and we just clean out that whole thing,” the president told reporters on Air Force One on Saturday. “You know over the centuries it is had many, many conflicts. And I don’t know, something has to happen.”

The comments and other recent moves by his administration reflect a sharp change in policy toward the conflict in Gaza compared with under former President Joe Biden.

ICE arrested 10 Tren de Aragua gang members, more than 400 criminals in one day

Homeland Security arrested 25 gang members Friday, including 10 members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, as well as more than 400 other illegal immigrants with criminal records.

Among those criminals were Cesar Augusto Polanco, 59, a Dominican Republic citizen and convicted murderer, and Jose Tito Reyes, 54, a Salvadoran with a sex crimes record, according to data from an administration official.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement also deported 468 migrants as it ramped up efforts to carry out President Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Now why couldn't Democrats do that??

Why couldn't Democrats care more for Americans and LESS about their hysterical America hate agenda!??

WHY!!???

Yet the best measure of Trump’s fast start were the hesitant, unfocused responses of his main antagonists — Democrats and their media handmaidens.

Much of the press was consumed by its own drama, with “CBS Evening News” anchor Norah O’Donnell, a scolding never Trumper, losing her perch.

Ratings were rock bottom, and CBS will replace her with two co-anchors and a team of correspondents.

CNN, which has a fatal case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, is also cutting staff and moving anchors, with Jim Acosta demoted to the graveyard shift.

His threat to leave the company was odd.

What Acosta lacks in talent he makes up for with angry insults, so he might not find another home.

Meanwhile, internal turmoil keeps rocking The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times, with owners of both striving to make their news pages fair, or at least less rabidly anti-Trump.

Both spiked editorials endorsing Kamala Harris, sending staffs into fits of rage and leading a handful of writers to quit.

At The Washington Post, an earlier meeting Jeff Bezos had with Trump and his attendance at the inauguration fed the fires of hostility and raised the question of whom the staff hates more — Bezos or Trump.

LA Times owner Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong says it’s a “struggle” to get his staff to accept his decision to broaden the paper’s appeal beyond leftist Democrats.

“I really wanted to make sure we are a trusted source for all Americans,” he told Fox News

Imagine objecting to fairness and calling yourself a journalist.

The New York Times shows no sign of softening its hostility to Trump, with the front page a daily drumbeat of attacks and opinion masking as news.

“In His Return, Trump Embraces Pomp of Royalty,” read the most prominent headline Thursday, while another declared “Trump Hurries To Test Limits of His Powers.”

A third focused on whether he would punish mayors and governors who hide criminal aliens.

All these outlets carried water for Biden by defending claims the president was in good health until it became too obvious he wasn’t.

They also pooh-poohed the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes and looked the other way as House Republicans showed that $20 million flowed from foreign entities into Biden family bank accounts.

They then defended Biden’s pardons of his family as a shield against Trump “retaliation” while denouncing Trump’s pardons as obscene.

It's truly amazing to me how ya'all can STILL be loyal to the America haters who have caused so much pain and suffering to America and Americans...

How do ya'all sleep at night??

I am sure that CW is glad that I am around to debug the problems his blog has...

I am sure he is going to be more than grateful to have me on the job when the new site comes online.. :D

Go figger..

Anyways, here is the full comment...

Let's here what a worthwhile Democrat (yes, there are a few) has to say... :D

Trump is already hitting the ground running as his first 100 days in office are off to a historic start

Media reports last week focused on what Donald Trump could get done in his first 100 days.

A better focus would have been on his first 100 hours.

There’s hitting the ground running, and then there’s Trump 2.0.

No president in modern history has come to the Oval Office better prepared and more determined to get big things done fast.

No sooner had he taken the oath than executive orders, pardons, appointments, speeches, public meetings and press conferences began piling up.

The flurry included an historic gathering on artificial intelligence where private firms promised investments of $500 billion!

All along, he was more available to the press in one week than Joe Biden was in a year.

Much of the early activity centered on Trump’s No. 1 priority: closing the border and rounding up and deporting criminal migrants.

He also delivered a video speech to the Davos Economic Forum, where he offered business elites a deal: produce your goods in America, or get hit with big tariffs.

The dramatic contrast between the two presidents featured a large executive order Trump signed on his first day.

It revoked about 80 Biden orders and covered everything from the border to DEI to green mandates.

The scope alone demonstrates Trump’s determination to change the nation’s direction right out of the gate.

The tone was also striking, starting with “The previous administration has embedded deeply unpopular, inflationary, illegal, and radical practices within every agency and office of the Federal Government.” He promised to “restore common sense to the Federal Government and unleash the potential of the American citizen.”

There *ARE* some Democrats who actually get it!!

In the wilderness: Democrats struggle to navigate the politics of new Trump era

Once united in opposition to Trump during his first term, Democrats now flounder with his return to the White House

In the end, Donald Trump has Democrats to thank for delivering the first legislative victory of his second term.

Hours after he was sworn into office, a dozen Senate Democrats joined all Republicans in approving a bill that would require the detention and deportation of migrants accused of theft-related crimes. Moments later, the chamber unanimously confirmed their colleague, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, to be Trump’s secretary of state.

The votes marked a sharp reversal from the early days of Trump’s first term, when his narrow electoral college win sparked a nationwide resistance movement and a succession of Democratic victories. But unlike eight years ago, Trump won the popular vote as well while making significant inroads with the voters that are core to the Democratic coalition: people of color and young people.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jan/26/democrats-trump-return

Democrats are jumping on the PRESIDENT Trump train en masse...

And ALL Americans are better off for it..

Ya'all don't want to be left behind or run over... Do ya??? :D

Com'on!!! Give up on your Trump/America hate... Overcome your PTDS!!

There is some speculation that Basement Biden (who??) had one more pardon that he did not announce.

He pardoned himself..

I submit that this is not necessary...

Basement Biden (who??) has already been declared mentally incompetent by his own DOJ...

Therefore, no Pardon is necessary...

Apparently, ya'all agree with this assessment as there has been no attempt to refute the claim...

I accept ya'all's concession.. :D

BB on [45]
Thanks for that link. I was just wondering when something real was going to follow from the media's endless comments on the 'firing' of the Inspectors General, that Congress required by law 30-days notice and documented cause for any such firing by the Executive branch.
I had hoped that Congress would file for an injunction, and maybe that will happen too. But this letter suggests that the IG's are going to just ignore the president's announcement, as it seems they should. In no case should the president be allowed to break a federal law, no matter what the Supreme Court thinks, without a full legal review by the courts.

Here is a VERY interesting statement from Democrat and Hillary's Chief Campaign strategist Mark Penn

The last straw

Last minute pardons for Biden’s political accomplices were the plan all along. The pardons for drug dealers and commutations for murderers were just cover for the main act of these pardons and his son — all done after elections have passed.

The only administration to try to jail political opponents was not Trump’s but Biden’s, and it was the voters who rejected it with their votes.

There were legitimate questions on whether Fauci lied about his funding of gain of function research, whether Miley broke the chain of command and had unauthorized communications with the Chinese and whether the Jan 6th committee coached witnesses. They may have all been right and truthful but there were questions, and they will all go unresolved now.

But Biden was elected lying to the public about his son’s business (which was eventually uncovered), sought to win reelection hiding his infirmities, (which was also eventually uncovered), and genuinely abused his office in the closing days of his presidency as his low ratings sink even lower.
-Mark Penn

I think Penn is wrong on whether the crimes of Fauci and the J6 committee will go unresolved. All but 2 have accepted their pardons. Which means they have lost their Fifth Amendment right against self incrimination and they CAN be compelled to testify.

If they tell the truth about all their crimes, the world will know what scumbags liars these traitors are...

If they repeat prior lies under oath they can be prosecuted for perjury and tossed in jail..

Basement Biden (who??) really scrooed over his cohorts... :D

And NOW PRESIDENT Trump is going to bend California to his will!!! :D

Trump Says California Must Change Policies or Risk Fire Aid

President Donald Trump threatened to withhold federal aid for California as it grapples with massive ongoing wildfires, and he said he would condition any funds on California changing its water management policies and approving voter identification laws.

At an event in Pacific Palisades, a Los Angeles neighborhood hard hit by the historic blazes, Trump on Friday reiterated unfounded claims that the state’s water policies, including measures to protect an endangered fish species, have limited the flow of water to southern California and hampered efforts to fight the fires.

“We’re also surging federal resources and assistance to the state, and California must adopt the common sense policies to prevent fires, and we all know that,” the president said.

Trump also criticized Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, sitting next to him, on the pace of recovery, which has been hampered by ongoing blazes and burnt-out electric and hybrid vehicles requiring specialized removal.

“We’re going to waive, just about essentially waive, all federal permits” to hasten rebuilding, Trump said. He also tasked his close ally Ric Grenell to help with the recovery efforts.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-says-california-must-change-policies-or-risk-fire-aid/ar-AA1xNUZp

Makes sense... PRESIDENT Trump doesn't want to throw good money after bad...

If California wants taxpayer money, California is going to have to change the way they do things..

No sense in throwing a bunch of cash at THIS recovery and then, due to California's utter incompetence and mismanagement, ANOTHER catastrophe happens in a year or two...

Get some common sense on water management.. Tell the environmental whack jobs to frak off.. Tell 'em that yer gonna help PEOPLE and not micro-fish that are useless..

Maintain proper clearing of old-growth, again telling the moron environmentalists to shut the frak up and keep their place...

So far, PRESIDENT Trump is doing a FANTASTIC job and, up and down the line, Democrats are falling all over themselves to jump on the PRESIDENT Trump train... :D

Life is good, eh?? :D

Here's a factiod that says it ALL about the Basement Biden (Who??) and Headboard Harris (Who??) junta....

In Two Days, Trump Answered More Reporter Questions Than Biden Did In Four Years – And Without A Cheat Sheet
By I & I Editorial Board
REPRINTED WITH PERMISSION

Biden held the fewest number of press conferences of any modern president. He would answer questions only from pre-selected reporters. He had to have a cheat sheet with him at all times to give his answers, and even then the White House would often have to rush out to correct the record.

Biden’s first press conference wasn’t until March 2021 – and it was a disaster. As the BBC reported it:

Biden’s performance was more akin to a cautious walk across a not-quite-frozen lake. Every step was careful and calculated, lest an unexpected crack led to a dark, icy fate.

He relied heavily on notes and called from what appeared to be a pre-determined list of reporters – one that didn’t include Fox News or any other right-leaning outlets.

At one point, in an answer about the filibuster – an arcane Senate rule that has thwarted many a president’s ambitious agenda – Biden appeared to lose his train of thought, ending his sentence with the wave of a hand.

On Trump’s first day in the White House he answered reporters’ questions for 45 minutes while signing hundreds of executive orders. On Tuesday, he held an impromptu press conference after announcing a $500 billion investment in artificial intelligence, taking questions for half an hour.

And these weren’t softball questions from carefully selected friendly reporters. (Click on the image below to see for yourself.) Then Trump sat down for an extensive interview with Sean Hannity.

This isn’t a criticism of Biden (who cares about him anymore?) so much as it is of the mainstream press and its disgraceful eagerness to act like sheep around Democratic politicians and like rabid bulldogs toward Republicans.

Why would White House reporters put up with the limited access Biden granted them for four years? Why would they stand for the fact that whenever he’d make an announcement, he’d turn tail and run without taking questions? Why did reporters let White House harpies boss them around and block access to Biden at public events?

And, now, will anyone in the mainstream press acknowledge the difference in access between Biden and Trump? Or point out the significance of this shift to the public? Or credit Trump for being willing to mix it up with a hostile press?

The answers to all these questions are obvious, aren’t they? (Fox News’ Peter Doocy is the one exception.)

For the next four years, the corporate media will hound Trump the way they never did Biden. They will attack his every move, play up any dissent on his team, peddle unsubstantiated rumors as facts.

We want to believe that the media can be redeemed. And by that, we don’t mean bend the knee to Trump. But treat all politicians with equal suspicion. Report the facts honestly and fairly, no matter which party benefits. Do the job they are paid to do.

That’s how you restore trust in an institution that has lost all credibility with the public.

Hypocrisy. It's not a bug in Democrat programming. It's a feature

The press is going thru a metamorphosis.. We see it at the LA Times and we see it at WaPoop and we see it at CNN...

Those media sources are seeing the light and are moving into becoming a fair and balanced news source that meets the needs of the PEOPLE... Not the hysterical bigoted Democrats...

It's morning in America.. :D

Gavin 'Hair Gel' Newsome bends the knee and kisses the ring!!! :D

The Newsom-Trump dynamic sets up a test case for Democrats charting their future

That’s the state of relations as California and the federal government face one of the most expensive natural disasters ever, and perhaps one of the most complex in American history.

No one was talking between the Democratic governor’s team and the newly inaugurated president’s, two people on Newsom’s team told CNN. Transition officials never responded to Newsom’s letter inviting the then-president-elect to visit two weeks ago, they confirmed, and the White House didn’t invite him to meet Air Force One when it landed.

But Newsom showed up anyway, and positioned at the bottom of the steps, he embraced the president in the middle of a long handshake, then kissed first lady Melania Trump on the cheek.

Donald Trump was clearly pleased: speaking to reporters on the tarmac, he said he “appreciated the governor coming out and meeting me.” Newsom was dutifully deferential when Trump then invited him to speak: “We’re going to need your support, we’re going to need your help. You were there for us during Covid. I have all the expectations that we’re going to be able to work together for a speedy recovery.”

Democrats are going to need to understand that PRESIDENT Trump is in charge now...

If ya'all Democrats want the carrot then ya'all are gonna have to work for it..

"I voted Democrat, and I’ve got to tell you something right now: I don’t like the fact that I did. I don’t like what I’m seeing. I don’t want to hear about, ‘Oh we’re about the law. Nobody’s above the law’...but then you go out and you pardon your son, you try to blame everybody else for it.
I don’t want to hear about ‘defund the police.’ I don’t want to hear about, you know what this should be, open borders. I don’t want don’t want to hear this stuff.
What concerned me about Donald Trump, and the reason I voted against him and voted for Kamala Harris, was because I felt that he would be divisive, that he would create chaos, because he demands such a level of loyalty and fealty to him, and that would take priority over governing our nation.
Having said that…if he follows through on some of the things that he has said, it’s not just about eradicating inflation, improving the economy, obviously controlling our borders, these are all things that I care about.
But it can’t be just about fealty to him and loyalty to him. It has to be about getting the job done on behalf of what’s in the best interest of the American people, as opposed to yourself, and not engaging in the kind of juvenile tendencies, tweeting all the time, and going after people who are pretty much irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.”
-ESPN Stephen A. Smith

It didn't take too long for people to fess up how they are sorry for voting for Token DEI Hire Headboard Has Been Hooker Harris...

Anyone who voted for Token DEI Hire Headboard Has Been Hooker Harris feels like a complete and utter MORON right now..

If they don't then they don't have more than 2 brain cells to rub together.. :eyeroll:

Caddy,

Trump throws a bunch of shit at the wall so the SEEMINGLY least bad decisions (either nominees or legislation or whatever) will pass through an exhausted Congress. You did a great job of creating a better talking point than the above selection (respectfully, CW, but you gotta admit that it’s short and to the point, eh?)

Uh... It was JL that made that point a couple commentaries ago..

You high again??? :eyeroll:

Which has NOTHING to do with the FACT that DEMOCRAT DAs let murderers and cop killers and rapists go free...

Aside from the fact you are just trying to distract that your single anecdotal example does not statistically represent the entire community of illegal immigrants, if what you say is true (and not grossly exaggerated as is highly likely), then why is the murder rate still lower in the blue states? You are not making the point you are trying too...

So, I just finished watching the new "Trek" Movie SECTION 31...

Meh...

Until the very end, it's easy to forget that it's even Trek. At the end, the Trek music shined thru and reminded everyone... HAY!!! THIS IS STAR TREK!!!

It has it's woke aspects which was the downfall of STD....

I doubt we will see any continuation of SECTION 31.. Which is a shame because it has so much potential..

A nice cameo by Jamie Lee Curtis as Borg was likely it's only redeeming quality..

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being totally awsome, it's a 3... Maybe a 3.5 at the end there..

And in the IDDN'T THIS INTERESTING department.....

One of the liars who accused SecDef Pete Hegseth of domestic abuse now states, for the record, that she was "promised" that her statement would "make a difference in key votes"..

So, this begs the question...

WHO "promised" this liar that her statement would "make a difference in key votes" to confirm Pete Hegseth as SecDef??

This reeks of the bimbo Blasey Ford who lied about SCOTUS Justice Kavanaugh...

Which simply PROVES that Democrats are complete and utter scumbags who do NOT have the best interests of this country at heart..

What IS about your Democrats people that they are so dishonest and disgusting???

Hmmmm???

I mean, I can understand how the Weigantian trolls can support Democrats.. I can even understand how CW can, in the throes of PTDS and Trump/America hate can support these scumbag Democrats...

What just boggles my mind is that independent thinkers like Liz can support Democrats...

It's simply unconscionable...

The assertion that illegal immigrants are primarily hardworking individuals who contribute positively to our society to be fundamentally flawed and misleading not to mention completely ludicrous and without ANY rational merit whatsoever. The reality is that illegal immigration poses significant challenges to our communities, particularly concerning crime rates and public safety.

First and foremost, the claim that illegal immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than natural citizens is not supported by the facts. Numerous studies and reports indicate that illegal immigrants are often involved in serious crimes, including brutal murders and rapes. For instance, a 2018 report from the Center for Immigration Studies found that illegal immigrants were responsible for a disproportionate number of violent crimes, including homicides. In fact, the report highlighted that in states like California, illegal immigrants were involved in a significant percentage of violent crime cases.

Moreover, the notion that illegal immigrants are merely "hardworking" individuals overlooks the harsh realities faced by many American families. According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Program, violent crime rates in areas with high illegal immigrant populations can be alarmingly high. For example, cities like Los Angeles and Chicago have seen spikes in gang-related violence, much of which is linked to illegal immigrant gangs. This is not just a matter of statistics; it is about the safety and security of our communities.

Additionally, the argument that illegal immigrants do not utilize welfare programs is misleading. While it is true that many illegal immigrants may not qualify for federal welfare benefits, they often rely on state and local resources, which can strain public services. This includes emergency healthcare, education, and housing assistance, all of which are funded by hardworking American taxpayers.

As for the economy, President Trump has consistently championed policies that prioritize American workers and businesses. His administration's focus on deregulation and tax cuts has led to unprecedented economic growth, with unemployment rates reaching record lows before the pandemic. The assertion that tariffs and other policies will lead to a recession ignores the positive impact of these measures on American manufacturing and job creation.

The narrative that illegal immigrants are primarily beneficial to our society is not only misleading but dangerous and utterly contemptible. We must prioritize the safety and well-being of American citizens and recognize the real consequences of illegal immigration. President Trump’s commitment to securing our borders and enforcing our laws is essential for maintaining the strength and integrity of our great nation.

Anyone who thinks otherwise simply hates America...

The decision by District Attorneys (DAs) not to prosecute certain crimes, particularly those committed by hardened criminals, can have significant and multifaceted impacts on American communities. Here are some key points to consider:

1. Public Safety Concerns
Increased Crime Rates: When DAs choose not to prosecute certain offenses, it may embolden criminals, leading to an increase in crime rates. If individuals believe they can commit crimes without facing legal consequences, they may be more likely to engage in criminal behavior.

Victimization: Communities may experience higher rates of victimization, particularly in neighborhoods where crime is already a concern. This can lead to a pervasive sense of fear and insecurity among residents.

2. Erosion of Trust in the Justice System
Public Perception: When DAs do not prosecute crimes, it can lead to a perception that the justice system is ineffective or biased. This can erode public trust in law enforcement and the legal system, making individuals less likely to report crimes or cooperate with authorities.

Community Relations: A lack of prosecution can strain relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve, particularly if residents feel that their safety is not being prioritized.

3. Impact on Victims
Lack of Justice: Victims of crime may feel that they are not receiving justice if their cases are not prosecuted. This can lead to feelings of frustration, anger, and helplessness.

Psychological Effects: The psychological impact on victims can be profound, leading to anxiety, depression, and a diminished sense of safety in their own communities.

4. Long-Term Consequences
Recidivism: If hardened criminals are not held accountable for their actions, they may continue to commit crimes, leading to a cycle of recidivism. This can place additional strain on communities and law enforcement resources.
Economic Impact: Increased crime can have economic repercussions, including decreased property values, reduced business investment, and higher costs associated with law enforcement and community safety initiatives.

5. Policy and Reform Implications
Calls for Reform: The decision not to prosecute can lead to calls for criminal justice reform, including discussions about the effectiveness of current policies, the need for more resources for law enforcement, and the importance of addressing root causes of crime, such as poverty and lack of access to education.

The decision by DAs not to prosecute hardened criminals can have serious implications for public safety, community trust, and the overall effectiveness of the justice system. It is a complex issue that requires careful consideration of the balance between ensuring accountability for criminal behavior and addressing the underlying factors that contribute to crime.

Liz,

Besides, I'm still trying to get over a grudge when it comes to Chris's consistently ambiguous stance on Biden. Which will take a bit longer yet, to be sure.

Since the onset of PTDS and Trump/America hate, CW seems to adopt what ever position will further the PTDS and Trump/America hate..

I miss the old CW and the old Weigantia which was REALITY based...

If illegal immigrant criminals voted GOP, ya'all would be HYSTERICALLY in favor a completely secure border..

No, I'd be investigating the GOP for voter fraud. Just like if you actually cared about illegal immigrants, you would be pushing to go after employers.

Are you going to show the same concern for Americans killed by Americans in similar ways and at higher numbers or is this just purely political?

You mean, all the scumbags that your DEMOCRAT DAs let run free and victimized...

ABSO-FRAKIN-LOUTLY will I show the same concern...

What's hilarious is that you show ZERO concern for those Americans..

As your Pro-Criminal Cop-Hating stance proves beyond any doubt...

Caddy,

It doesn’t matter — you can’t distinguish right-wing propaganda from reality and besides, have you EVER allowed ANY inconvenient fact to make the slightest difference whatsoever?

Assumes facts not in evidence..

Simply put, you don’t bring anything to the table. Which makes you a waste of time to engage with.

Not factually accurate..

I don't bring anything to the table that YOU are interested in..

But, as has been proven beyond ANY doubt, ya'all are NOT interested in a strong and fair America..

Ergo, it's mind over matter..

I don't mind, so you don't matter. :D

That’s why I’m sooo looking forward to a “block” function.

Of course you are.. Yer simply a mindless drone and can't handle FACTS that upset your mindless perspective..

You simply CAN'T handle being exposed to facts and reality that upset your bubble view..

But let's be real, Caddy.. Yer gonna get high one day (as you do every day) and your gonna be DYING to see what I have been posting and your gonna peek and yer gonna respond and then people who don't like what YOU say will block you..

And then Weigantia will be nothing but a Rush Limbaugh-esque echo chamber where NO ONE is seeing ANYTHING that upsets them..

Typical Democrat perspective.. Only seeing what's in yer bubble..

What a sad and pathetic existence that is.. :eyeroll:

SOME illegal immigrant criminals are hard workers..

But, they fail in the character and integrity department..

Is having SOME hard workers with questionable character/integrity worth all the dead and raped and robbed and terrorized American citizens??

Well, let's ask the family and friends of Laken Rielly, shall we??

JL,

...cw is certainly entitled to take that route if he so desires.

Absolutely, positively, unequivocally. But that really goes without saying.

Besides, I'm still trying to get over a grudge when it comes to Chris's consistently ambiguous stance on Biden. Which will take a bit longer yet, to be sure.

Illegal immigrants are some of the hardest working members of our society and beyond some of them committing a single misdemeanor, commit crimes at considerably lower rates than natural citizens. Their employers pay payroll taxes and they never get tax returns. Illegal immigrants use very little welfare.

With tariffs and other dumbfuckery, It will be interesting to see how fast Trump can take the strongest economy in the world in to a recession. I bet he breaks all records...

Over A QUARTER MILLION babies were born to illegal immigrant criminals in 2024...

Research organization says that number will likely be higher if PRESIDENT Trump's Executive Order is not upheld..

The US welfare system simply cannot sustain these high numbers...

And WHO will pay for all these illegal immigrant criminals??

Yep... The US taxpayer...

It's a good thing PRESIDENT Trump's EO is a shoe in to be affirmed by the courts...
