So Katie Porter should not have run for the Senate unless she had found a candidate to fill her House of Representatives seat for the Democrats that was guaranteed to win? Was she responsible for making sure that her replacement had enough money to run a successful campaign as well? Porter doesn't have to justify her reasons for wanting to run for the Senate to anyone! You aren't owed anything.

Becoming a U.S. Senator would certainly have been a step up; I know of few people who wouldn't be tempted to have a promotion.

But just because it would benefit Rep. Porter professionally doesn't mean her decision doesn't disappoint those of us who think strategically. I'd be interested to hear her justification, beyond just 'I wanted to serve ALL Californians' or some such blather. Does she have someone waiting in the wings who can WIN the district?
I haven't read anything about the primary results there; perhaps no Republican is going to be on the ballot in the general election, so we have nothing to worry about.

(the company with which Trump Media merged in order to go public). The pages regarding risk span across pages 63-146.

THCR, which was founded by President Trump in 1995, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2004. Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc., the new name given to Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts after its 2004 bankruptcy, declared bankruptcy in 2009. Are you saying that Porter (my own personal choice BTW) shouldn’t have TRIED for the Senate because win-or-lose it gave the Repugs a shot at the seat that she vacated? I can’t blame her especially seeing how infrequently California has had the opportunity to elect a new Senator. She’s clearly qualified.

Having said that, Porter’s post-Primary grousing about politician Schiff doing political things to give himself that edge DOES qualify her for a MDDOTW this week.
