America has barely tolerated mainstream 'center left' Democrats like Obama and Biden; the idea of them electing a self-professed socialist, who'd rather be right than president and who'd take office with no equivalent party in Congress to work with his administration, is basically laughable. Should it have happened, I imagine a liberal version of the train wreck that was the Trump administration. Not corrupt or hateful of course, but similarly ineffective and driven by rhetoric more than by actual legislation and administration.
