My favorite recent flag story is when someone punked supporters at a trump rally by passing out Russian flags with his name on them.

Heh. So funny! I remember something like that happening where Russian flags were passed out to the crowd to wave during Donald Trump's speech. The righties were blissfully waving the flags, totally clueless.

I don't recall which electron year it was, possibly even 2016; but i still can't think of anything quite as apropos. I'm sure the pranksters thought they were being funny, as opposed to uncomfortably truthful.

It should be noted (back in the 1980s, when she became First Lady) that nobody arrested Barbara Bush. Or even suggested it. How times change.

Fast forward to modern times, and Donald Trump hunches the United States flag as if it's his grown daughter, molests it with his wee small hands, and hugs and kisses the flag while claiming repeatedly, "I love you, baby":

CW They complained about the pride flag being displayed at all, and a subset of them got fake-irate over a "violation of the U.S. Flag Code" (which it actually wasn't, as there was another U.S. flag being flown above, on the roof of the White House). You could also rub their ignorant noses in this:

* If you're dealing with a typical GOP rube, you'll probably also have to explain that Joe Biden is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces because he's the President. If you're dealing with a typical MAGAt cult rube or Q-Anon moron, you'll probably also have to explain that (despite their idiotic beliefs and all their protestations to the contrary) Trump ain't currently the President. So, to recap: We have to deal with the right-wingnut cult of rubes, morons, and idiots we have and not the ones we wish we had. :)
