No. I would support elective where feasible but not mandatory. One of the big problems with guns is the urban/rural divide. Guns are not as useful and a much greater liability in an urban environment and ownership is much lower. I'm down to a single firearm mainly because I lived in San Francisco for a while and the nearest outdoor range is a good hour drive. I don't think there is even a indoor pistol range in the city limits. That makes gun safety classes where shooting a real gun as part of the class not feasible. I would expect the same in many large cities.
