Joshua,

maybe the best thing to do is re-imagine sundays, so instead of the expectation that it'll be all music and no politics starting in the evening, to include music the whole day, with LESS politics.

I'm sure that idea won't fly.

I know that trying to stay on left coast time is not working, either. So, I'll just keep starting the evening early. Perhaps, 7pm - midnight, Eastern time and then if our left coast friends wish to continue through to 3am eastern, then that would be great!

That would mean no political commentary from 7pm to 3am Eastern time, for a full Sunday night of good music ...

The whole point of this thing is to take a break from political commentary. So, for now, at least, I'm sticking with that initial plan.

@m,

there's a big difference between being happy about something and not being ashamed. and as to your earlier question:

So, a person who is born in the wrong gender has NO psychological or psychiatric impairment??

correct. it's a failure of our society to account for the full range of human diversity, not a failure of the individual's mind to cope with their genitals.

@liz,
maybe the best thing to do is re-imagine sundays, so instead of the expectation that it'll be all music and no politics starting in the evening, to include music the whole day, with LESS politics.

Let's celebrate your abortion!

There’s a new marketing tool for abortion supporters, enablers and the industry they support: “Let’s celebrate abortion!”

Oprah Winfrey recently joined the marketing campaign when she featured in her O magazine a first-person story by Amelia Bonow who began the #ShoutYourAbortion movement.

Mother's Day or not, society will always "celebrate" my decision to continue a pregnancy. My decision to have an abortion? Not so much.

Democrats trying to figure out how to get rid of Biden..

There Has to Be a Backup Plan. There’s a Backup Plan, Right?

Inside the 2024 soul-searching that’s happening in every corner of the Democratic Party.

Note that this is from NY MAG, a decidedly Left Wing rag...

Big whoopee. Yes, it appears to be left leaning publication but one magazine article is not representative of the entire Democratic Party.

One thing I've noticed is that you often paint Dems with an overly broad brush, e.g. Defund the Police.

The equivalent would be me insisting Jews! Will not! Replace us! represents you and your Party.

But then there is the FACT of Democrat women like Alyssa Milano et al BRAGGING about their baby killing.

So, of course you would characterize it your way because yer Democrat..

But the facts are STILL the facts..

And RvW is being tossed on the scrap heap of history.. :D

There is even a WEB SITE devoted to bragging about baby killing..

You do realize that the actual ShoutYourAbortion website is counter to your description? I did not read a single account of baby killing. On the other hand it is very melancholy and looks to be an accurate cross section of how women feel about their abortions and why they got them. From sadness, to relief, to happiness to all three at once. But mostly sadness and relief. Trying to pawn the site off as bragging and celebratory is highly inaccurate.

Were those the same analysts who said Putin wouldn't invade?? :D

I would find some new analysts if I were you.. :D

The simple fact is Biden is senile.. His comments have to be walked back by his handlers CONSTANTLY...

This is documented FACT..

Now maybe YOU think it's a good thing to have a dementia senility ridden POTUS, but I do not..

Dunno what they said pre-invasion. I know that I said no way Putin does something this stupid... and I was wrong.

I don't feel bad because Putin fucked up. His folly has already strengthened NATO'S unity (undoing Trump's damage,) and expanded NATO, trashed Russia beyond recovery and will result in his assassination.

You can believe whatever you want about Joe. Your Cheetogod sucked so bad he motivated 81 million Americans to vote, You're fired!

THE Dems could have beaten Trump running Hunter Biden's tunafish sandwich against him.

Yea.. Cuz THAT'S what we want to do.. Stoke tensions with a nuclear armed super power.. :eyeroll:

MC.. Note that this is a LEFT WING source of a LEFT WING article.. MSN and Bloomberg..

Nothingburger.

For the record,

1- China has nukes but most of them are shorter range.

2- Nobody wins if we destroy civilization so the Chinese are no more likely to use their nukes as is Putin or Joe.

3- China has the fastest aging population in human history. One child policy means that there are simply not enough working Chinese left to support the largely non-productive elderly.

4- This means that soon the Chinese will not be able to hold up to their end of the you let us run things and everybody's standard of living will go up bargain. They won't be able to afford either guns or butter.

5- Analysts that I respect think that things are becoming so dire that China will implode in the next handful of years.

Of course, I cannot believe otherwise. My question remains:

Is Michale here to both dispense knowledge to shape other's opinions as well as to allow other's knowledge to influence his opinion? In other words, it's he commenting in good faith or is he only interested in "owning the Libs."

You've also said you used to be on the sidelines regarding abortion but that,

If only Democrats had been satisfied with SAFE, LEGAL, RARE....

But, due to Democrat overreach in #SHOUTOUT their infanticide and #CELEBRATE their baby killing, they are now suffering the backlash of having RvW thrown on the trash heap of history where it belongs..

Democrats.. Their own worst enemies..

So it's clear that your objection to abortion is not "moral" at all but rather is (another) case of if the Democrats are for it I'm against it.

Michale a few columns back you stated that you mostly get your info from leftwing sites.

This is difficult to believe for two reasons:

First, you never link to any of those leftwing sites but rather entirely from right-wing sites.

Second, if you're actually reviewing leftwing sites why hasn't any of that leftwing wisdom rubbed off on you?

(thinking)

Or maybe you used to be even more right-wing and you're slowly...VERY slowly... coming around. Dunno.

Michale,

Kudos to you for the changes in your posting practices. I appreciate the blockquote instead of all boldified as it doesn't convey shouting.

Just because I don't comment on what you post doesn't mean I doesn't mean I don't try to plow through as much of it as I can.

The facts that Biden is simply a figurehead are piling up...

Au contraire! The point of Foreign Intelligence is to determine what the enemies intent is.

Joe goes off script all the time but I'm sure this was no accident.

Say that you're China and you want to invade Taiwan. Whether or not the US defends Taiwan will make all the difference in the world, no?

So now China doesn't know the answer to that question... and it's less likely to want to find out the hard way.

For the record, your Cheetogod never displayed even a fraction of that sophistication. Too busy kissing Dictators asses.

And the SCIENCE says that if you are born a male and you feel like you are a female, feel like you are an alien non binary gender or feel like you are a rutabaga, then THAT is a mental health sickness and it needs to be TREATED..

Biden's confusing Taiwan-China remarks deal a blow to his credibility

A cryptic pledge to militarily protect Taiwan from China showcases a tendency to speak recklessly.

President Joe Biden turned heads on Monday when he pledged that the U.S. would militarily intervene against China if it invaded Taiwan, and signaled that his commitment to the island was stronger than to Ukraine. The confrontational statement marked a sharp departure from the U.S. policy of “strategic ambiguity” on Taiwan that has prevailed for decades.

But shortly after his remarks, Biden’s administration downplayed the statement, saying that the president had in fact not meant to signal a policy change, and that the usual U.S. posture on Taiwan remained intact.

Biden is marring the credibility of his own speech.

It’s becoming a familiar pattern: Biden makes a bold statement expressing a new degree of readiness for war with a rival or adversary like China or Russia, and then his own staff walks it back. It’s also becoming a troubling pattern — while domestic audiences can laugh off Biden’s gaffes and missteps, there is no guarantee foreign powers will give him the benefit of the doubt. Biden is marring the credibility of his own speech, and potentially unwittingly causing the U.S.’s opponents to come to the conclusion that the U.S. is more inclined toward war than it is.

having read the article, i tend to agree with mr. rossi - maybe his comments to his students were right and maybe they were wrong, but we need children to see the value of openly expressing opinions, not try to silence people with whom we disagree.

Don,

How am I responsible for other commenters trolling, lying and dodging and CW ignoring me when I offer rational discussion?

Oh, you're not responsible for that.

But, you are distinctly responsible for the endlessly repetitive and often vulgar comments throughout these threads. So, there's that. Reading just one of your posts is like reading a million of them. So, there's that on top of that. And, you don't really care for music. And, that right there takes the pie.

Be responsible for all that you do and say!

@m,

I agree, episode 3 seemed a bit meh, but i do like the ending where we find out what's in the medical transporter buffer.

@liz,
Boring is what boring does. When life gives you lemons, make lemon meringue pie!

One current student paid me a visit a few weeks ago. He tapped faintly on my office door, anxiously looking both ways before entering. He said he had come to offer me words of support for speaking up at the meeting.

I thanked him for his comments, but asked him why he seemed so nervous. He told me he was worried that a particular teacher might notice this visit and “it would mean that I would get in trouble.” He reported to me that this teacher once gave him a lengthy “talking to” for voicing a conservative opinion in class. He then remembered with a sigh of relief that this teacher was absent that day. I looked him in the eyes. I told him he was a brave young man for coming to see me, and that he should be proud of that.

Then I sent him on his way. And I resolved to write this piece.

This is what Democrat indoctrination breeds.. Students so afraid of having an independent thought that they have to hide their true identity..

Again, how can ANY sane person defend such blatant indoctrination tactics??? :eyeroll:

Every student at the school must also sign a “Student Life Agreement,” which requires them to aver that “the world as we understand it can be hard and extremely biased,” that they commit to “recognize and acknowledge their biases when we come to school, and interrupt those biases,” and accept that they will be “held accountable should they fall short of the agreement.” A recent faculty email chain received enthusiastic support for recommending that we “‘officially’ flag students” who appear “resistant” to the “culture we are trying to establish.”

So, Democrat educators want to blacklist students who don't conform to Democrat orthodoxy..

Again, I ask..

HOW can any SANE person defend such gestapo tactics???

My school, like so many others, induces students via shame and sophistry to identify primarily with their race before their individual identities are fully formed. Students are pressured to conform their opinions to those broadly associated with their race and gender and to minimize or dismiss individual experiences that don’t match those assumptions. The morally compromised status of “oppressor” is assigned to one group of students based on their immutable characteristics. In the meantime, dependency, resentment and moral superiority are cultivated in students considered “oppressed.”

All of this is done in the name of “equity,” but it is the opposite of fair. In reality, all of this reinforces the worst impulses we have as human beings: our tendency toward tribalism and sectarianism that a truly liberal education is meant to transcend.

Recently, I raised questions about this ideology at a mandatory, whites-only student and faculty Zoom meeting. (Such racially segregated sessions are now commonplace at my school.) It was a bait-and-switch “self-care” seminar that labelled “objectivity,” “individualism,” “fear of open conflict,” and even “a right to comfort” as characteristics of white supremacy. I doubted that these human attributes — many of them virtues reframed as vices — should be racialized in this way. In the Zoom chat, I also questioned whether one must define oneself in terms of a racial identity at all. My goal was to model for students that they should feel safe to question ideological assertions if they felt moved to do so.

WOW....

Mandatory indoctrination sessions TOTALLY based on race..

THIS is what Democrats are fighting for.. :eyeroll:

I Refuse to Stand By While My Students Are Indoctrinated

Children are afraid to challenge the repressive ideology that rules our school. That’s why I am.

I am a teacher at Grace Church High School in Manhattan. Ten years ago, I changed careers when I discovered how rewarding it is to help young people explore the truth and beauty of mathematics. I love my work.

As a teacher, my first obligation is to my students. But right now, my school is asking me to embrace “antiracism” training and pedagogy that I believe is deeply harmful to them and to any person who seeks to nurture the virtues of curiosity, empathy and understanding.

“Antiracist” training sounds righteous, but it is the opposite of truth in advertising. It requires teachers like myself to treat students differently on the basis of race. Furthermore, in order to maintain a united front for our students, teachers at Grace are directed to confine our doubts about this pedagogical framework to conversations with an in-house “Office of Community Engagement” for whom every significant objection leads to a foregone conclusion. Any doubting students are likewise “challenged” to reframe their views to conform to this orthodoxy.

I know that by attaching my name to this I’m risking not only my current job but my career as an educator, since most schools, both public and private, are now captive to this backward ideology. But witnessing the harmful impact it has on children, I can’t stay silent.
https://bariweiss.substack.com/p/i-refuse-to-stand-by-while-my-students?s=w

Now THIS is a good teacher..

A teacher who ignores pedantic Democrat ideology and does what is best for STUDENTS...

THIS is the kind of teacher we need in our schools..

JL,

How were you with the 3rd episode of STRANGE NEW WORLDS??

I was like 'meh'..

Not a fan of "A SICKNESS INCAPACITATES THE ENTIRE CREW" story lines... But the revelations about Una were pretty interesting.. :D

I haven't seen anything that compares to the 1st episode, but I am sure we'll see some good ones down the line.. :D

Liz,

Data on late-term abortions in the United States

In early 2019 several states enacted or proposed legislative changes to expand late-term abortions, renewing attention on this practice in the United States. Discussion of such policies has included some confusion regarding data bearing on the subject, due in part to misleading claims by the abortion lobby. What follows is a review of the best available data on such abortions, addressing nationwide incidence, variation over time and between states, and reasons for such abortions. Note that many of these topics have previously been well addressed by various publications of the Charlotte Lozier Institute, e.g. Prentice et al. (2019).

Based on information reported by Arizona, Florida, and Utah, probably 30-80% of late-term abortions are "elective" (non-health related), 20-60% are in cases of fetal health issues, and only 3-10% are in cases of maternal health.
https://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/late_term_abortion_usa.html

"OK, let's brass some tacks here."
-Metatron, SUPRENATURAL

I am assuming that you DON'T support unlimited elective baby killing..

Given this assumption, when do you support where baby killing AKA abortion being allowed/disallowed..

JL indicates "viability" which is roughly 22 weeks...

Bashi likes to be ambiguous because he knows I will call him on any definitive answer later..

I think that once a heartbeat is established elective baby killing should be outlawed..

Where's your line??

No one is having abortions one week before birth so stop with the asinine analogies.

And yet, that is EXACTLY the right that Democrats are fighting for..

Can I assume that you are against unrestricted baby killing then??

That you DO, like myself, JL and Bashi, support baby killing restrictions??

Of course, it can be both. But, since you are all for contraception, then you believe it doesn't have to be both, right?

I never said I was "all for" contraception..

I don't have a problem with it one way or the other..

Can you say the same about Baby Killing?? AKA Abortion??

Michale,

Is there any moral or ethical difference between killing a baby 1 week before birth and killing a baby 1 week after birth? Do you believe that baby killing AKA abortion should be unrestricted and be allowed right up to the moment of birth??

San Francisco Mayor London Breed, police groups opt out of Pride parade over uniform ban

San Francisco Pride parade organizers said seeing the officers in uniform could be uncomfortable for community members who have had negative encounters with law enforcement

Looks like gay San Francisco cops are being forced back into the closet when it comes to being police officers.

So much for "tolerance" in the gay community...

Kudos to San Francisco mayor Breed for not going along with the cop-hate of the Democrat Party.. :^/

President Biden seems to praise high gas prices as 'incredible transition' Americans must go through
The record-high national average for a gallon of regular gas is $4.56, and is much higher in some states

President Biden said that the country is going through an "incredible transition" away from fossil fuels via the high gas prices being experienced nationwide.

Biden made the statement on gas prices during a joint press conference with Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday.

"Here’s the situation. And when it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over," Biden said, seeming to justify or praise those sky-high prices Americans face at the pump.

Biden's comments come amid a stretch of record-high gas prices which the American Automobile Association says is "unprecedented."
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/president-biden-incredible-transition-high-gas-prices

So, according to Biden, sky high gas prices are a GOOD thing!!??

One has to wonder if Biden will feel the same way after the November Uber Nuclear Biblical Shellacking of Democrats.. :D

I kinda get the feeling sky high gas prices WON'T be a good thing then, eh? :D

Biden Says He Would Get Involved Militarily to Defend Taiwan; White House Says 'No Change' in Policy

(CNSNews.com) – President Biden said on Monday that he would be willing for the United States to get involved militarily should China invade Taiwan, adding that “that’s a commitment we made.”

And as it has done so many times before, a White House official later corrected him, saying "our policy has not changed."

During a joint press conference in Tokyo with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, a reporter said to the president, “You didn’t want to get involved in the Ukraine conflict militarily, for obvious reasons. Are you willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan, if it comes to that?”

“Yes,” Biden replied.

“That’s a commitment we made,” he continued. “That’s a commitment we made.”

Slowly over six years, the Russia collusion story has been exposed for what it was: a three-legged political dirty trick in which highly credible figures with deep law enforcement, intelligence and news media ties were paid by the Clinton campaign to flood the FBI, the CIA and the public with unproven allegations that Trump was secretly colluding with Russia to steal the election from Clinton.

The first leg of the collusion narrative was run by the former British spy Christopher Steele, who used his MI6 credentials and his prior ties to the FBI and high-ranking DOJ official Bruce Ohr to walk in his infamous dossier to U.S. law enforcement and intelligence in the summer of 2016. The FBI ultimately concluded Steele's dossier was riddled with Russian disinformation and disproved evidence.

The second leg was Sussmann, who crafted information from computer experts supporting Clinton into the tale of the Alfa Bank server back door. That narrative was flagged by Sussmann's team as unlikely even before he pitched it to the FBI, according to the indictment, and the theory was ultimately dismissed by the FBI and Russia Special Counsel Robert Mueller. "It wasn't true," Mueller testified to Congress in 2019.

The third leg of the dirty trick consisted of the efforts of federal bureaucrats inside the FBI, State Department and intelligence community — many of whom disliked Trump — who managed to deceive the FISA court, the Congress and the American public, often by using leaks to news media outlets to sustain a collusion story that had fallen apart within weeks of Steele's first approach.

Hillary didn't deserve to win in 2016..

And, with all the good that President Trump did in his 4 years in office, just imagine what this country could have accomplished if Democrats and Trump/America hating Republicans hadn't persecuted the President so hysterically with their Russia Collusion delusion..

:eyeroll:

In an era where the hunt for disinformation has become a political obsession, Hillary Clinton has mostly escaped having to answer what role she played in spreading the false Russia collusion narrative that gripped America for nearly three years.

On Friday, that dodge ended with a most unlikely witness: her former campaign manager Robby Mook, who was supposed to be a witness helping the defense of her former campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann on a charge of lying to the FBI.

Instead, under cross-examination by Special Counsel John Durham's team, Mook was forced to concede two extraordinary facts.

First, the Clinton campaign wasn't "totally confident" about the accuracy of computer data suggesting Donald Trump had a secret communications channel to the Kremlin via Russia's Alfa Bank.

And second, Hillary Clinton herself personally approved spreading the story to the news media, despite the concerns about its accuracy.

Since Democrats like House Investigation Committees so much I am sure that, come January, Democrats will be ALL IN about investigating Hillary and her Russia Collusion Delusion con..

Right??? :D

Bashi,

Business is not about being fair, it's about contracts which Elon signed.

BBBBWWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHA

So, Twitter inflated the value of it's assets to leverage a better deal..

And you are perfectly FINE with that because business is NOT about being fair..

Yet, President Trump is accused of the EXACT same thing, inflating the value of his assets to leverage a better deal, and YOU want to see President Trump prosecuted.

Hypocrisy much, Bashi?? :D

"The hypocrisy is strong with this one.."

but for all intents and purposes a person of unusual gender has absolutely no infirmity or impairment.

Really?? So, a person who is born in the wrong gender has NO psychological or psychiatric impairment??

I am betting that THAT claim would be news to those who suffer from this mental health issue, eh??

Liz,

What about contraception?

Are you against the pill and other methods of contraception?

Not in the slightest..

Does making love mean making babies or giving pleasure?

Why can't it be both??

Now that I have answered your questions, would you do me the honor of answering a couple of mine??

Is there any moral or ethical difference between killing a baby 1 week before birth and killing a baby 1 week after birth?

Do you believe that baby killing AKA abortion should be unrestricted and be allowed right up to the moment of birth??
