The press conference got heated when Biden yelled at Real Clear Politics correspondent Phillip Wegmann to "Go back and read what I said" after Wegmann asked about his voting rights speech in Atlanta earlier this month. Biden was criticized at the time for saying that those who disagree with him on the legislation are comparable to reviled segregationists.

On the heels of Biden's press conference, the Supreme Court handed down a majority decision that rejected Trump's request to block release of White House records to the committee investigating the events leading to January 6:

The majority pointed to a federal appeals court's conclusion that Trump wouldn't have been able to claim executive privilege even if he were still in office. Emphasis added by me, of course.

So how the hell is that not a unanimous decision by the SCOTUS when it's a slam-dunk issue regarding executive privilege? Ahhhh, but leave it to Justice Clarence Thomas... who doesn't explain his dissent.

Is anyone really surprised at Thomas's vote? His wife Virginia "Ginni" Thomas is a well-known right-wing activist and right-wingnut hysterical conspiracy theory spreading Trump cult supporter who posted on Facebook on January 6. It was even rumored that she might be involved in organizing some of the right wingnuts that stormed the Capitol, although I've seen no evidence of that... yet... with regard to her actually organizing.

But, hey, who among us wouldn't be eager to have the January 6 committee receive the thousands of pages of White House documents to potentially find out who visited the White House, who phoned who, who conspired with the fake electors from multiple states, and who was involved in the pre-planned conspiracy to deny Joe Biden the already foregone conclusion of his presidency as contained in the signed and sealed documents sent to the National Archives by each of the United States?
Answer: Oh, maybe Ginni's husband, Clarence Thomas.

Why? I mean, it's not as if there's anything at all out there in the public realm that would maybe point to Clarence Thomas's wife's support of the January 6 attempted coup, right? Well, not exactly. It seems dear Mrs. Thomas signed a public letter calling on "Leader McCarthy" to "act immediately to remove" Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger from the Republican conference. That's your right-wing hysterical hypocritical cancel culture practiced by those Republicans who obviously support the idea that the GOP/Republicans/"conservatives" should march unified in lockstep in order to protect those committing crimes (as obviously evidenced by multiple hundreds of thousands of minutes of digital/film footage). The letter states, among other things, the following:

The actions of Reps. Cheney and Kinzinger on behalf of House Democrats have given supposedly bipartisan justification to an overtly partisan political persecution that brings disrespect to our country's rule of law, legal harassment to private citizens who have done nothing wrong, and which demeans the standing of the House.

As duly elected representatives, Reps. Cheney and Kinzinger are free to serve in the House, but they should no longer do so with the privileges granted to members of the House Republican Conference. They should no longer be given access to the benefits of a conference they actively seek to undermine.

CONSERVATIVE LEADERS: REMOVE CHENEY AND KINZINGER FROM HOUSE REPUBLICAN CONFERENCE

Wow. These questions come to mind:

* Did no one explain to Mrs. Clarence Thomas that several dozen of those "private citizens" that have "done nothing wrong" (according to her) have actually pled guilty to their wrongdoing and/or were witnesses to wrongdoing?

* Clearly from hundreds of videos widely viewable by the public, there were multiple crimes committed and captured for all posterity... so what might Ginni Thomas be attempting to conceal by signing an instrument such as that?

* Under federal statute, justices are required to recuse themselves from cases where their "impartiality might reasonably be questioned" or where their spouse has "an interest that could be substantially affected by the outcome." So why didn't Mr. Ginni Thomas recuse himself from any cases that involve January 6? His wife had obviously publicly involved herself and made her opinions widely known in the public correspondence and on Facebook (before it was taken down, of course) wherein on January 6, she posted: "Watch MAGA crowd today best with Right Side Broadcasting [link omitted by me] and then C-Span for what the Congress does starting at 1:00 pm today. LOVE MAGA people!!!!"
