In fact, the odds aren't bad at all that Republicans take the Congress and White House back by 2024. They have so many advantages going into the next election cycle. Democrats, on the other hand, are facing many head winds, not least of which is their usual lacklustre performance when it comes to explaining stuff.

That's why FTP columns are going to be so important for the next eighteen months. It might be advisable to take a close look at what the Republican talking points will be and start preparing to counteract them now.

And, it won't be as easy as putting the Big Lie to rest or exposing projectionism or even beating the virus as the pandemic may be largely in the rear view mirror by November 2022 with other current and looming crises taking center stage.
