trump is up 2.6% in PA with 9% still left to count.

biden is up 2.4% in AZ with 11% left to count.

biden is up 0.6% in NV with 13% left to count.

trump is up 0.4% in GA with 2% left to count.

i know some folks are calling it already, but my sense is it's still too soon for anybody to be counting chickens.

Yes! I was very late discovering this about Pennsylvania but I see exactly what you mean - it is going to go to Biden! Well that's made my day a whole heap happier!

Good. :)

The thing about "second place" is that it actually did used to be a "thing" in America where the guy who came in second place became the Vice President. Thomas Jefferson wasn't thrilled about having Aaron Burr as his Vice President and set reforms in motion during his presidency to remedy that whole "second place" scenario. :)

Georgia is getting close. 48k vote difference, estimated 250k votes left to count. If Biden wins 60% of the remaining, he could still win the state.

This!

And as with other places, most of the remaining ballots are mail-ins from urban and sub-urban counties, so it's still possible.

I mentioned the outstanding ballots (checks watch) a hundred hours! Georgia is not over... yet. There are ballots still out there. :)

Wisconsin and Michigan have both been called for Biden. With Nevada and Arizona, he will have 270 EVs. Trump will pick up Pennsylvania, North Carolina (which re-elected its Democratic governor) and Georgia for second place with 268EVs.

Trump won't win Pennsylvania, and there is no "second place." *laughs*

I've heard that Arizona was called prematurely, something like 600k additional ballots were found after the initial call.

No, 600k ballots were NOT "found" after the call; they weren't hiding in a corner or suddenly discovered in the broom closet. Fox knew the count of ballots in Arizona was only at 73% when they made that call last night.

Trump campaign is getting desperate, filing multiple lawsuits to stop counting mail-in ballots in battleground states. Not surprising of course.

As we hear more and more from elections directors across the country and get a real education on how precisely votes get received and counted and adjudicated and reported, the claims that Trump keeps making about vote fraud, rigged elections and ballot stuffing go over like the proverbial lead balloon. Ahem.

I'd like to send out a big THANK-YOU to all the election workers who are doing a wonderful job to ensure that all of the valid votes are counted. I'd be darn proud of all of them if I were an American. Heck, I'm proud of them, anyways! :)

Not sure about Arizona - although, some have called that state for Biden already, no? - but I'm told that Nevada Democratic leaders may want to slow walk the count there to be the state that puts Biden at or over 270.

I wouldn't say that CNN is pushing that Biden has a chance in Pennsylvania. The magic wall guy and others are simply saying that you need to count the votes and that the math coupled with where the voters are indicates that Biden has a chance in Pennsylvania. And, he does!

Not sure how seriously I'd take it, but CNN is still pushing that Biedn has a chance in Pennsylvania as he's closing the gap pretty quickly with the mail-in ballots being counted now. According to them, 1.1M ballots remain, and Biden would catch up were he to win around 70% of them, a number that's apparently pretty consistent with the performance he's been having with mail-in ballots in the state.

Now, I'll believe it when I see it, but it's interesting to contemplate.

SF Bear[282],

I couldn't disagree more vehemently with you or with this WP piece. I know, I know ... shocking, positively shocking. Mostly because the stated premise betrays a vast lack of knowledge and understanding about what a president Biden may be capable of doing and how he would handle the senate majority leader.

Democratic voters in the primaries didn't just settle for Biden. Collectively, they made an inspired choice, even if many of them don't realize it, even now. :)

Wisconsin and Michigan have both been called for Biden. With Nevada and Arizona, he will have 270 EVs. Trump will pick up Pennsylvania, North Carolina (which re-elected its Democratic governor) and Georgia for second place with 268EVs.

Take cover, everyone, as soon as this result is confirmed - Michale's head might explode!

Liz,

Just because most of us favour Biden over Trump doesn't mean we hate America

Anyone here condemn all the rioting and looting and destruction committed by the Democrat/AntiFa/BlackLiesMatter Party??

The hatred of America by people here is well established..

Silence gives assent..

EM #256 Boy do I agree with you on this. I rarely agree with you, but you nailed it, he does not belong on this blog. Most of us believe that the point of argument and discussion is to illuminate and inform. A troll like Michale sees it as a sport to "win". Therefor he says things that are not true and that he himself does not believe just to score "points". He sets himself up as the scorekeeper so in his estimation he can never lose. What is the point of playing his game, where he hurls imaginary facts into a playing field of his imagination. To play his game is pointless and frustrating. To allow him to bring his circus to this forum make following the discussion tedious and ultimately exhausting.

Just because most of us favour Biden over Trump doesn't mean we hate America. On the contrary, my friend. But, if you can't appreciate that much about us, then there is really nowhere for us to go in terms of conversation and you are participating in the wrong blog, here.

It's also interesting to note..

Especially since I KNOW how much ya'all just LOVE polls!! :D

Right before the election, 56% of Americans feel they are better off today UNDER A PANDEMIC than they were under Obama/Biden....

As I point out.. ALL the facts... ALL the evidence... points to Americans are sick and tired of the Trump/America haters and bigots and their hysterical and baseless and factless fear mongering...

Polls don't lie.... Right?? :D

Covid is a non-serious issue..

As will become painfully obvious once President Trump is officially re-elected and all the urgency to try and take him down melts away...

So, to sum up...

Democrats got their asses handed to them in the House and the Senate...

And President Trump is well on his way to kicking their asses all over the White House.. :D

Covid is a non-serious issue...

And it surely had little to no bearing on the election.. As the current standings confirm...

If President Trump is as obviously incompetent about covid as you claim, then he would not have surpassed his 2016 vote totals..

My argument is that Trump has done very little to control a very controllable virus and you say that this assertion assumes facts not in evidence.

And my argument is that YOUR argument assumes facts not in evidence...

The mere fact that Left Wing water-carriers has to inflate the death count with non-covid deaths supports the fact that this is one big pile of BS...

Florida COVID-19 fatalities data included man who died in motorcycle accident

‘All natural cases for the most part:’ Medical Examiner discusses coronavirus death toll
News 6 obtains copies of COVID-19 death records from 9 counties

High coronavirus positive case rate reveals flaws in Florida Department of Health report
Hospitals dispute DOH account that labs aren't reporting negative results

According to the WHO, covid is less virulent and less lethal than the seasonal flu..

The survival rate for covid is 98.6%.....

At the session, Dr Michael Ryan, the WHO’s Head of Emergencies revealed that they believe roughly 10% of the world has been infected with Sars-Cov-2.

This is their “best estimate”, and a huge increase over the number of officially recognised cases (around 35 million).

Dr. Margaret Harris, a WHO spokeswoman, later confirmed the figure, stating it was based on the average results of all the broad seroprevalence studies done around the world.

As much as the WHO were attempting to spin this as a bad thing – Dr Ryan even said it means “the vast majority of the world remains at risk.” – it’s actually good news. And confirms, once more, that the virus is nothing like as deadly as everyone predicted.

The global population is roughly 7.8 billion people, if 10% have been infected that is 780 million cases. The global death toll currently attributed to Sars-Cov-2 infections is 1,061,539.

That’s an infection fatality rate of roughly or 0.14%.

Right in line with seasonal flu and the predictions of many experts from all around the world.

0.14% is over 24 times LOWER than the WHO’s “provisional figure” of 3.4% back in March. This figure was used in the models which were used to justify lockdowns and other draconian policies.

In fact, given the over-reporting of alleged Covid deaths, the IFR is likely even lower than 0.14%, and could show Covid to be much less dangerous than flu.
swprs.org/studies-on-covid-19-lethality/

ALL the complaints about President Trump and covid are fake news...

The facts that PROVE it's all bunk are as overwhelming as they are conclusive..

And the vast majority of Americans KNOW this.. THAT is why President Trump is winning re-election..

Michale,

My argument is that Trump has done very little to control a very controllable virus and you say that this assertion assumes facts not in evidence.

Let's take the example of the thing that Trump loves to tout - his China travel ban. This is a classic example of the unintended negative consequences completely overshadowing what was intended, for two reasons.

Firstly, Trump's China travel ban was porous as hell. And, there was no strategy or implementation of a testing and quarantine regiment for the people who were getting into the US from China. This rates at least a 10 on the incompetence scale.

Secondly and, perhaps, more importantly, the travel restrictions imposed by the Trump administration on China and Europe gave the president and, therefore, many in the country a completely false sense of security and the misguided idea that nothing else needed to be done.

But, maybe the most persuasive piece of evidence is a missing national strategy for implementing a comprehensive package of public health measures along with the kind of leadership from the top down that would encourage compliance at the community level and empower individuals with the knowledge and support required to protect themselves and others.

These are fairly big deals and they do change the calculus to one degree or another with regard to the real peace and democratic challenge in Israel and the occupied territories. We will have to see what Trump or Biden can do to further the progress here and deal with the other critical challenges in the greater area of the Middle East.

So, you agree that President Trump deserves commiserate credit for these "fairly big deals", eh?? :D

And ANOTHER Weigantian myth falls on the trash heap due to FACTS... :D

More Americans voted for Donald Trump this year than in 2016
President Trump received more votes in the 2020 presidential election than he did in the 2016 presidential election as Joe Biden also surpassed the 2016 vote total for Hillary Clinton.

Liz,

Despite what Trump says, this presidential election and count has apparently proceeded with care and precision, transparency and accuracy across the country, in the middle of Pandemic 1 and with record high turnout in many places.

So, that means when some yahoo here whines and complains about cheating and such other bogus whinings.....

Are you saying you will set them straight in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS and tell them.....

Trump has done very little to control this virus and even what he has done hasn't been done well.

Assumes facts not in evidence...

But hay.. Let's you and I jump into the Handy Dandy Trusty Dusty time machine and take a gander back to when all this kicked off??

What were the Democrats doing??

Oh yes.. There it is.. Democrats and Trump/America haters were trying to nullify a free, fair, legal, democratic and Constitutional election with their faux impeachment BS...

An impeachment that was so bogus that Democrats couldn't find a SINGLE crime to impeach President Trump over.. So they had to make crimes (that weren't even crimes) up..

And they STILL lost!! :D

Hell, if Democrats had their way, we would STILL be listening to their rumors, heresay, innuendo and outright BS to this day..

So, any delay in the response by the Trump Administration can be laid directly at the feet of the Democrat/AntiFa/BlackLiesMatter Party...

OK, let's zip back to present day... :D

Further, according to the CDGC, only 6% of the covid deaths were actually from covid... In the other 94% the COD (Cause Of Death) were other causes...

So, given this FACT, the ACTUAL death count from covid is approx 12,000..

Which, ironically enough, is about the same death count that Obama had during his H1N1 pandemic..

Just the facts..

I noticed you ignored the fact of all the Mid East peace treaties that President Trump negotiated... :D Why is that??

President Trump succeeded where Obama, Biden and the Democrats (not to mention Bush and the GOP) utterly and completely failed..

I guess I answered my own question on why ya ignore that.. :D

If ya'all gave even a MODICUM of credit to President Trump when it was obviously due.... I would be more inclined to take ya'all's complaints about President Trump seriously...

But Weigantia has become the TRUMP/AMERICA HATE Channel...

24/7 of nothing but Trump and America hate...

Very non-serious and, more often than not, a caricature, a parody of a liberal activist blog...

Michale,

what facts are there to support blaming President Trump for [not having controlled the virus]?? None..

Actually,a lot.

Trump has done very little to control this virus and even what he has done hasn't been done well. If he had done a competent job of it from the beginning he would have been re-elected by now, by a long shot.

M [224]

Yes, the majority of the counties are red, but most of them are rural counties with relatively few voters. Within a state, the number of counties doesn't matter, it's the number of votes. Most of the few votes remaining come from very populous counties due to dense urban populations. This is really basic stuff.

The facts are on CNN's electoral map.

CNN?? I think it's cute that you think CNN actually has facts.. :D

The most populous counties, those around urban centers like Detroit and Las Vegas, have the largest amount of votes left to count, and those already counted are heavily in Biden's favor.

I'll give you Nevada... But if you look at the county by county stats for WI, MI and PA, the vast majority of areas are all red and/or pink...

The facts are on CNN's electoral map. They show which counties have how much vote counted and who the counted votes have been cast for. The most populous counties, those around urban centers like Detroit and Las Vegas, have the largest amount of votes left to count, and those already counted are heavily in Biden's favor.

From what I can tell, a lot of the remaining votes look to be from urban centers that have been voting for Biden so far, so there's hope.

Facts to support???

No??? Of course not.. :D

I mean, they're dying at a disproportionate clip as a result of Trump not controlling the virus.

I wouldn't call it "disproportionate"...

And what facts are there to support blaming President Trump for this?? None..

Interesting factoid... Even if you accept the bogus 220k+ death count (which only 6% of that is actual covid deaths) the blue states, death rates per 100,000 residents are 40 percent higher than in red states, according to an AEI study. Of the first 210,000 deaths in the US from COVID-19, only 33,000 took place in red states.

So, using your reasoning, Democrats are killing Americans more than Republicans are...

It's easy to throw meaningless stats around.. Especially when you don't have the facts to back them up..

Of course, I do.. :D

https://www.aei.org/economics/impact-of-the-coronavirus-pandemic-on-red-blue-and-swing-states/

And, to add insult to injury, Trump is trying to take away their health insurance and replace it with ... wait for it ... nothing.

Again, you believe the Democrat BS and do not listen to the facts...

And do you REALLY think you are in a position to judge, considering how blatantly Obama lied and DID throw tens of millions of Americans off the healthcare plans that they liked and were told they could keep...

With much respect, your claims caring about Americans healthcare seems a bit dubious considering what ya supported from Obama.. :D

How so?

Black American unemployment.. Lowest point EVER..

Hispanic American unemployment.. Lowest point EVER..

The afore mentioned Savanna Act...

Building the strongest U.S. economy in my lifetime through historic business and personal tax cuts, resulting in millions of jobs created and record-low unemployment

Cutting federal government regulations that had a stranglehold on American business innovators and entrepreneurs

Confronting China’s trade abuses and negotiating fair trade deals with Canada, Mexico, South Korea, and Japan

Eliminating the Obamacare individual mandate

Rebuilding our military through investments in our defense capabilities as well as securing the largest military pay raise in a decade

Nominating and confirming more solid conservative circuit court judges than any other first-term administration

Nominating and fighting for the confirmation of three originalists, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, to the Supreme Court and then nominating Amy Coney Barrett to fill the vacancy left by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and then brokering the Abraham Accords peace deal between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain AND Sudan....

Consistently fighting Democrats to build the wall to secure our southern border, reinforcing and repairing hundreds of miles, with more construction on the way

The list is endless...

But no one here will give President Trump credit for ANY of this..

Which is why it's impossible to view any of the President Trump complaints with any level of serious-ness

Based on CNN's reporting, as of this writing, Biden holds an 8k vote lead in Nevada, a 21k vote lead in Wisconsin, and a 12k vote lead in Michigan. If he can hold on to those 3 leads, he should win. From what I can tell, a lot of the remaining votes look to be from urban centers that have been voting for Biden so far, so there's hope. Still, this election is probably going to go down as one of the closest of all time, quite possibly being decided by only a few thousand votes out of over 135 million cast.

Liz,

You ever see a movie called WIND RIVER???

https://www.imdb.com/video/vi3821713689?playlistId=tt5362988&ref_=tt_ov_vi

There is a little blurb at the end...

"While missing person statistics are compiled for every other demographic, none exist for Native American women."

President Trump changed that with his signing of the Savanna Act...

Joe Biden was in politics for almost 50 years.. Why did he never push thru this law??? Democrats have ignored the plight of native Americans, just as they ignored the plight of black Americans...

All of this is FACT....

And yet, it's ignored here..

And President Trump's re-election (a nod to JL) is the result...

Liz,

The problem with your comment is that it totally ignores the FACTS...

As I mentioned above, President Trump has done more for minorities (blacks, hispanics, native) in his first 3 years than Democrats have done in 20x that amount of time..

The only thing Democrats have done for black Americans is the 1994 Crime Bill and fighting against the Civil Rights and Voting Rights laws...

President Trump's leadership is tangible and factual...

Democrat/AntiFa/BlackLiesMatter Party leadership?? Non existent...

You can't argue the facts... :D

But don't worry...

Everything is going to be OK... :D

President Trump's got this..

Michale,

Democrats need to accept the idea that, if they lose elections, they cannot push their Anti-America agenda by other means..

I think Democrats need to get a lot better at pushing what their agenda actually is in an effort to counter the nonsense that their agenda is anti-America. But, they must do so in a way that doesn't give short shrift to the 60+ million voters who don't vote for Democrats and understand what these voters keep saying in presidential and down ballot elections.

The fly in the ointment is that the fine art of persuasion may be dead in America. I hope that is not the case! Biden used to know how to persuade but I'd have to give him only a barely passing grade for his efforts this time around. But, with a little luck and on a wing and a prayer, he might just win this election. If he doesn't, then all hope is lost for moving the country forward, together.

And, the ability to do this is what forms the gulf between the leadership capacities of Trump and Biden.

This time around, it wasn’t just state polls that were off the mark

Ironically enough, you are absolutely right..

Most everyone here and all the pundits across the country are completely and utterly at fault for Basement Biden's loss...

Awwww Po' lil nuck nuck is butthurt...

BBBBBBWWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Who knew the punditry would be right about mail-in voting would ruling the day.

I highly encouraged Democrats to use Mail In votes.. WHY risk covid??

Of course, Mail In votes are the easiest votes to disqualify..

In the last NY Dem primary, upwards of 20% of the Mail In votes were deep sixed.. ?

Estimates are upwards of 2 million Mail In votes will be disqualified in this here election.. 90% of those will be Dem votes..

Yea... Here's hoping ALL Democrats voted by mail!!!

I see an opportunity, however slim, for leadership and a new way of doing politics in America. When a country as big and diverse as the US is AND so completely divided, certainly far more divided than the popular vote would indicate, then something needs to give.

Yes... Something DOES need to give..

Democrats need to accept the idea that, if they lose elections, they cannot push their Anti-America agenda by other means..

Once Democrats realize that, EVERYONE will be better off...

Yes, an opportunity for leadership, only if it isn't squandered.

The Democrats obsession with court packing is another...

Which brings us to a burning question..

With Senate firmly in the hands of the GOP and the White House firmly in the hands of President Trump...

Do Democrats STILL support court packing??

I mean, are Democrats REALLY wanting a 10-3 Conservative SCOTUS?? :D
