I didn't forget about you, I was peacefully protesting the board troll.

It is Trump’s response to things like this that really reminds us that there has never been a President as narcissistic as Trump!

He ranks right up there, but Trump too shall pass.

It will be one of the only “Lists” that Trump will rank higher than any of the other presidents (“Most Hated”, “Most Corrupt”, and “Died in Prison” are a few of the other lists that come to mind).

I know, right!? The "Law and Order" Candidate who has had the most convictions/pleas of guilty/prison sentences handed down than any other in the modern era. More coming too.

You are correct that Trump is only helping Bolton sell more books by doing this.

And he can't win in court because of the First Amendement. Whether or not you agree with John Bolton's political ideology, Bolton most certainly is aware of what is and is not classified information. For the Department of Justice to sue Bolton over his book is just indicative of more of Barr and Trump's handiwork and tells you everything you need to know.

I think most people are going to pass on buying it because of Bolton’s refusal to testify before the Impeachment hearings in the House. Trump is stupid enough that he might order the GOP to buy all of the copies of Bolton’s book — thinking that they can prevent people from reading it....

Heh. His campaign bought a butt load of Trump Jr's book with donor money and then sold it back to the same donors.

not sure how they can buy up all of the digital copies, but I am sure they will just tell Trump that they took care of it.

Heh.

I answered our long-running post from a few days back. Tag... you're it. :)

Yeah, she got herself a little hot under the collar, but isn't that the point?

No, I most certainly did not get myself even a tiny bit "hot under the collar." If that's what you think, then you're wrong.

What I did was simply started a peaceful protest wherein everyone begins posting in the same manner as the board troll who feels he is entitled to break the forum rules. The object of the exercise is to peacefully protest the fact that if we all break the copyright and plagiarism laws of the United States of America (and not coincidentally some of the same rules of this forum) in the same manner as "Michale" the Whore Whorley, it would be instantly identifiable as the intolerable practice it is.

My peaceful protest is obviously aimed to cause complaints and for people to take action. So join me in my peaceful protest or complain about me, and I thank you kindly for your support in my protest. :)

Yeah, I know.

There's the ducking the question maneuver, the Whataboutism retort, the putting words in other's mouths, the blind conviction that the most extreme of voices represents all Democrats. How do you say it? So. Much. Whining.

Yea.. Victoria is infamous for having her skin gotten under.. She can't help herself..

*laughs* *shakes head*

I think Mike has confused me with the lying forum troll who leaves on a regular basis and constantly whines like an effing toddler about all manner of things:

* That time JL and I correctly identified Donald Trump as exhibiting fascist behaviors not unlike those of "He Who Must Not Be Named"... and Mike whines he is too good for us and leaves.

* That time Mike invented some of the most ridiculous right-wing bullshit I have ever heard that he then decided everyone here agreed with... during the Brett "Bought and Paid For" Kavanaugh confirmation... based on Mike's ridiculous and oft repeated bullshit that "silence gives assent"... and Mike whines he is too good for us and leaves.

I could go on but you get the idea. Mike is the resident board wussy... archived for all posterity. :)

It is Trump’s response to things like this that really reminds us that there has never been a President as narcissistic as Trump! You are correct that Trump is only helping Bolton sell more books by doing this. I think most people are going to pass on buying it because of Bolton’s refusal to testify before the Impeachment hearings in the House. Trump is stupid enough that he might order the GOP to buy all of the copies of Bolton’s book — thinking that they can prevent people from reading it....not sure how they can buy up all of the digital copies, but I am sure they will just tell Trump that they took care of it.

You watch your filthy mouth, pal. <---- just kidding

You don't like the all "bolds," constant plagiarism and copyright violations? Then you'll have to complain to the author. Me? I'm just joining in. If one person is entitled to trample all over the forum rules, then I don't see why the rest of us should abide by them.

So this is my peaceful protest, and I totally agree with you. Do something to make it all stop.

How would you feel about it if football players held up Pro President Trump signs and RE-ELECT PRESIDENT TRUMP signs..??

Are you saying you wouldn't mind at all??

I’d wonder how much money that they were getting paid to hold the signs... but one thing that I am certain of...

I wouldn’t completely lose my mind over it like Trumpkins would if football players held up Pro Biden signs! That would probably cause your heads to explode. Hell, you have become just a big of a baby as Trump is... claiming Trump is the victim in a protest that literally has nothing to do with him.

Admit it... you had your lower ribs removed so you could get your head further up your own ass to be just like Trump!

Mr. Trump dismissed Mr. Bolton in September after a series of disputes over foreign policy. Mr. Bolton, the president’s third national security adviser, had served in the job for 18 months.

In a Wall Street Journal opinion column last week, Mr. Bolton’s attorney Charles Cooper detailed his client’s interactions with the White House over the manuscript. Mr. Cooper said that after sending the manuscript to the National Security Council on Dec. 30, Mr. Bolton and an NSC official went over the 500-page manuscript four times, “often line by line.”

On April 27, according to Mr. Cooper, the NSC advised Mr. Bolton its edits were complete, but didn’t send a letter saying the book had been cleared. On June 8, John Eisenberg, deputy counsel for national security, said in a letter that Mr. Bolton’s manuscript contained classified information and that publishing it would violate his nondisclosure agreements.

“This is a transparent attempt to use national security as a pretext to censor Mr. Bolton, in violation of his constitutional rights to speak on matters of the utmost public import,” Mr. Cooper wrote. “This attempt will not succeed.” Mr. Cooper said the book would be published on June 23.

According to the book’s publisher, “The Room Where It Happens” will be a harshly critical account of the administration during Mr. Bolton’s tenure serving the president. He will paint the White House as chaotic and the president as inconsistent and interested largely in securing his own re-election.

Among the allegations expected to be included in the book is one that goes to the center of the House impeachment charges against the president: that Mr. Trump told Mr. Bolton in August that he wanted to keep aid to Ukraine frozen until the country aided investigations into Democrats, including former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

Mr. Trump has denied the allegation. He was impeached by the Democratic-led House in December on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress stemming from his dealings with Ukraine. In February, the Republican-led Senate voted to acquit him.

U.S. Files Breach-of-Contract Suit Against Ex-National Security Adviser John Bolton

Suit claims Bolton will compromise national security by publishing book it says contains classified information

The U.S. on Tuesday filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against former national security adviser John Bolton, seeking to delay the publication of his book, which the suit alleges contains classified information that could compromise national security.

The lawsuit, filed by the U.S. attorney in Washington, accused Mr. Bolton of breaching the contract he signed as a condition of his employment and to access classified information. The lawsuit marked the latest effort by the Trump administration to block the publication of the book, which is expected to be harshly critical of President Trump.

Mr. Bolton’s lawyer and spokeswoman didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

On Monday, Mr. Trump accused Mr. Bolton of including classified information in the manuscript, adding that he considers any conversation he has with another official “highly classified.”

Presidents have claimed the authority to classify national security information and direct subordinates to do the same, but no president has claimed the total authority to prevent former employees from speaking about non-national security matters—and typically the First Amendment would protect such speech, experts say.

Mr. Trump for months has criticized his former national security adviser for penning a book about his tenure at the White House, complaining that he “gave him a break” by giving him the job, which doesn’t require Senate confirmation. Administration officials were taken aback by how quickly Mr. Bolton had written a book, and some commented he must have been writing it while he was still in the White House, one official said.

Mr. Bolton’s spokeswoman didn’t respond to a request for comment.

I am sure Bolton's literary agent is thrilled about the publicity. Idiots!

BOOK

Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man

by Mary L. Trump

In this revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him, Mary L. Trump, a trained clinical psychologist and Donald’s only niece, shines a bright light on the dark history of their family in order to explain how her uncle became the man who now threatens the world’s health, economic security, and social fabric.

Mary Trump spent much of her childhood in her grandparents’ large, imposing house in the heart of Queens, where Donald and his four siblings grew up. She describes a nightmare of traumas, destructive relationships, and a tragic combination of neglect and abuse. She explains how specific events and general family patterns created the damaged man who currently occupies the Oval Office, including the strange and harmful relationship between Fred Trump and his two oldest sons, Fred Jr. and Donald.

A firsthand witness to countless holiday meals and family interactions, Mary brings an incisive wit and unexpected humor to sometimes grim, often confounding family events. She recounts in unsparing detail everything from her uncle Donald’s place in the family spotlight and Ivana’s penchant for regifting to her grandmother’s frequent injuries and illnesses and the appalling way Donald, Fred Trump’s favorite son, dismissed and derided him when he began to succumb to Alzheimer’s.

Numerous pundits, armchair psychologists, and journalists have sought to parse Donald J. Trump’s lethal flaws. Mary L. Trump has the education, insight, and intimate familiarity needed to reveal what makes Donald, and the rest of her clan, tick. She alone can recount this fascinating, unnerving saga, not just because of her insider’s perspective but also because she is the only Trump willing to tell the truth about one of the world’s most powerful and dysfunctional families.

U.S. Justice Dept. Employees to Testify About Political Meddling, House Panel Says

Two Justice Department employees will testify to Congress next week about political influence on law enforcement activity, including one who worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, the Democratic-controlled panel said on Tuesday.

House of Representatives Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said the two career employees, John Elias and Aaron Zelinsky, are both "prepared to describe the unprecedented politicization of the Department under President Trump and Attorney General William Barr."

A Justice Department spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Zelinsky was one of four prosecutors who abruptly withdrew from handling the prosecution of Trump's longtime friend, Roger Stone, after Barr intervened earlier this year to scale back the department's sentencing recommendation.

Zelinsky returned to his regular position as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's office in Maryland after withdrawing from the case, but has never publicly spoken about his decision.

Elias serves as the acting chief of staff to Makan Delrahim, the assistant attorney general of the department's antitrust division.

Nadler said he intends to call Elias and Zelinsky to testify at a hearing on June 24, along with former U.S. Deputy Attorney General Donald Ayer.

"Again and again, Attorney General Barr has demonstrated that he will cater to President Trump’s private political interests, at the expense of the American people and the rule of law. He has abruptly reversed course on prosecutions against the President’s allies and friends. He has pursued pretextual investigations against the President’s perceived political enemies," Nadler said in a statement.

I agree with you that the constant plagiarism and copyright violations are beyond getting old.

Perhaps if we all joined in the practice instead of just the troll doing it, it would soon become obvious how intolerable it was.

This is an excellent idea! Let's make it happen.

Naw, let's not go to that darker Troll headspace. As memory serves, Trolls write either "provocatively" or "annoying" statements. That's why I'm trying to get Michale to tell me whether he's trying to persuade me or just to annoy me. Annoying doesn't persuade, foole!

And remember, "Don't feed the Trolls" is a time proven cure. Ya get to watch as they get frantic and ever more abusive, trying to get a response from the rest of us. Also remember, somebody's gotta be the Adult in the room.

MC,

Naw, in all the excitement of the moment between now and November, these will be long forgotten everywhere except for the feverswamps.

Then, you should have NO PROBLEM making a wager... Right???

:D

"Disbanding" law enforcement is silly and won't get within light years of becoming Democratic policy.

And yet, the facts clearly show that it IS becoming Democrat Party platform.. You denying it is simply you burying your head in the sand..

But hay.. At least you agree with me that it is TOTALLY unworkable and not viable...

I agree that the Kente cloth thing was purdy silly (and not very becoming, I might add)

Once again...

COMMON GROUND.. We both agree that Democrats were retards for trying such a pandering stunt...

And they will pay for that in Nov...

We're practically on the same page on EVERYTHING MC..

Now you just need to post what you think police reforms would look like and I can use my 25+ years in the field to show you why it won't work.. :D

Trump praises scientists for developing AIDS vaccine that doesn’t exist

President Donald Trump falsely suggested that scientists have developed a vaccine for AIDS, the late stage of HIV infection in which the virus badly damages the immune system.

“They’ve come up with the AIDS vaccine,” Trump said during a press conference on police reform, referring to scientists.

It’s possible Trump was referring to daily antiretroviral drugs, which have proved very effective in controlling HIV.

President Trump comments on coronavirus vaccine progress
President Donald Trump on Tuesday falsely suggested that scientists have developed a vaccine for AIDS, the late stage of HIV infection in which the virus badly damages the immune system.

“They’ve come up with the AIDS vaccine,” Trump said during a press conference on police reform, referring to scientists. “As you know, there’s various things, and now various companies are involved.”

Trump later appeared to backtrack those comments, saying, “AIDS was a death sentence, and now people live a life with a pill. It’s an incredible thing.”

The White House did not respond to CNBC’s request for comment on Trump’s statement.

It’s possible Trump was referring to daily antiretroviral drugs, which have proved very effective in controlling HIV, a disease that was considered a death sentence nearly 40 years ago. Left unchecked, the virus progresses into AIDS, an advanced form of the disease.

People at risk of HIV can also now take prevention medication, also known as pre-exposure prophylaxis or PrEP. PrEP can reduce the risk of infection by at least 74% in people who take the drug consistently, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Roughly 1.1 million people in the U.S. are currently living with HIV, and nearly 40,000 Americans become infected with the virus each year, according to government data.

Last year, Trump’s pledged to end the HIV epidemic in the United States by 2030, a goal that public health advocates have cheered and sought for years.

The comment came as the U.S. also works to develop a vaccine for the deadly coronavirus, which has infected more than 2.1 million Americans and killed at least 116,341, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

Earlier Tuesday, Trump administration officials said the coronavirus vaccine will be provided free of charge to Americans who can’t afford it.

Suspect in killing of 2 Bay Area cops tied to right-wing Boogaloo group, prosecutors allege

An Air Force sergeant suspected of killing a Santa Cruz County sheriff’s sergeant will be charged, along with a Millbrae man, in the fatal shooting of a federal security officer last month in downtown Oakland, federal officials said Tuesday.

Steven Carrillo, who was charged last week in the killing of Damon Gutzwiller, the sheriff’s sergeant, was aided by 30-year-old Robert Justus, of Millbrae, in the killing of 53-year-old federal security officer David Patrick Underwood, officials said. Justus drove a white van and acted as the getaway driver in the May 29 Oakland shooting, officials said.

Officials said Carrillo harbored a hatred of law enforcement and had ties to a right-wing Boogaloo group that believes a second American Civil War is coming soon.

Underwood, a 53-year-old Pinole resident, was guarding the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland amid protests nearby over police brutality and the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The white van was captured on a surveillance video, officials said, which revealed that the gunman had slid open the van’s side door to fire the weapon.

Carrillo, 32, was charged last week with Gutzwiller’s murder and numerous other felonies. His arraignment has been postponed until next month.

An Air Force sergeant and leader in an elite military security force, Carrillo was armed with homemade bombs, an AR-15 rifle and other weapons and had a desire to harm police when he launched a deadly attack on unsuspecting officers, the Santa Cruz County sheriff said Monday.

Officials said Tuesday that Carrillo and Justus were not part of the protests and were taking advantage of them to carry out their attacks.

Brian Levin, executive director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at Cal State San Bernardino, said Carrillo on social media including Facebook posts had become increasingly disturbing.

Levin said he said he shared memes about the so-called “Boogaloo” movement, a right-wing extremist group that anticipates civil war. Levin said the far-right groups are now more of a threat to government and law enforcement.

“Our research shows 27 far-right extremist connected homicides,” Levin said i. 2019. The FBI arrested three associates of the Boogaloo movement in Nevada, recently and they were charged with inciting violence with Molotov cocktails at protests.

Levin said Boogaloo followers range from ultra libertarians to white supremacists but they all share a belief in a second Civil War coming.

“They are Second Amendment insurrectionist,” Levin said. “The boogaloo boys believe in arm insurrection and include attacks on the police.”

FBI Special Agent in Charge Jack Bennett said that Carrillo used a private made firearm - a so-called ghost gun built using an unmarked receiver to kill the federal officer. Bennett would not say whether Carrillo made that gun or someone else.

And it's SERIOUSLY going to hamper and drag on Democrats in November..

Much like that Kente Scarf pandering Democrat Leadership tried...

Naw, in all the excitement of the moment between now and November, these will be long forgotten everywhere except for the feverswamps.

"Disbanding" law enforcement is silly and won't get within light years of becoming Democratic policy. I agree that the Kente cloth thing was purdy silly (and not very becoming, I might add)

How Our Anti-American Education System Made Riots Inevitable

Rioting social justice warriors are remaking the world as they see fit, consistent with what they’ve been taught from K-12 to the highest echelons of learning.

The past fire-lit weeks in America’s cities have made clear that the protests, and the riots that attend them, have little to do with the condemnable alleged murder of George Floyd by police officers in Minneapolis.

Even in the non-violent demonstrations, protesters can be seen burning the American flag, an act that just 30 years ago engendered such outrage it spurred Congress to pass an unconstitutional law, but doesn’t even warrant coverage today. In broad daylight, protesters have defaced and toppled statues dedicated to any and all figures of America’s history.

Lest anyone think the mob’s Year Zero behavior stopped with the slaveholding Confederacy, in Boston a monument to the 54th Massachusetts, an all-black Union regiment during the Civil War, was among those vandalized. Matthias Baldwin, an early abolitionist, got the same treatment in Philadelphia, as did the lesser-known Rotary Club founder Paul Harris, whose plaque in Washington D.C. was marked simply with an ignorance-acknowledging “probably a racist.” The monument to the author of the Emancipation Proclamation on the National Mall was likely spared only because of the protection of the National Guard.

It's exactly as I said... The Democrat Party is STILL trying to be the Party of slave owners...

It's just now the 'plantation' is crack houses and the welfare office...

Once again, a shout out to Victoria who confirms to everyone how much she is PWN'ED by your's truly..

I was gonna call it a night, but this kind of fealty and subservience by Victoria simply MUST be shared and enjoyed for all.. :D

Trump on coronavirus: 'If we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, if any'

President Trump on Monday downplayed concerns of a rising number of coronavirus cases in states across the country, indicating that the increase was due to more testing.

"If we stop testing right now, we’d have very few cases, if any,” Trump said during a White House event highlighting administration actions to help senior citizens.

Trump has frequently made inconsistent comments on testing. At times he has sought to downplay the severity of the coronavirus pandemic by saying the U.S. has tested more people than any other country, and as a result, the number of confirmed cases is higher.

Other times, Trump has complained that the positivity rates and case counts are too high, because the country has been testing so many people.

Trump's dual views on testing were on full display in a message tweeted Monday morning.

"Our testing is so much bigger and more advanced than any other country (we have done a great job on this!) that it shows more cases. Without testing, or weak testing, we would be showing almost no cases. Testing is a double edged sword - Makes us look bad, but good to have!!!" Trump tweeted.

Vice President Pence made similar comments on Monday, suggesting the White House has already shifted focus from addressing the health impacts of the virus to holding campaign rallies and reopening states as quickly as possible.

The Trump administration has signaled it has no interest in the nation having a new series of lockdowns given the economic damage shutting down the country has already had.

Administration health officials like White House coronavirus task force coordinator Deborah Birx and Anthony Fauci have played considerably less of a public role since the White House ended daily coronavirus briefings in April.

The pandemic has hit the United States during an election year, and Trump's poll numbers have fallen in the midst of the crisis.

Yet even as health experts are warning about surges in states such as Texas, Florida, Arizona, Alabama, Oklahoma and Arkansas, Pence said the country has been making “steady progress” toward putting the coronavirus “farther and farther in the past.”

Pence said the spike was likely due to a “dramatic increase in testing.”

Texas hits new high for coronavirus cases, hospitalizations
The number of coronavirus cases has surged in 20 states over the past week, according to data analyzed by The New York Times. Those numbers can be misleading, as some states are also increasing the number of people tested.

However, some states have seen the number of daily tests decline even as the seven-day average of new cases increases. In other states, the rate of new cases is increasing faster than the increase in the average number of tests.

The percentage of positive test results out of total tests has also been on the rise, meaning states do not have the virus under control despite reopening businesses.

Idiot Moron President explains it like this ^^^^. "Iddn't kinda obvious that if there was no testing nobody would be sick." Duh!

Tune in tomorrow when Dipshit Dumbass outlaws pregnancy testing in order stop abortion. If there weren't no pregnancy tests, there'd be no abortions and no babies! Problem solved!

Under the circumstances, state and local governments are going to be divesting from everything and investing in nothing simply because there isn’t enough money to go around. Education will almost certainly pay the highest price, since it accounts for about a third of state and local spending, but the 4 percent going to police is unlikely to be spared either.

This kind of willy-nilly budget cutting isn’t what thoughtful police defunders have in mind when they talk about reimagining the criminal justice system. But when pollsters find that two-thirds of the public opposes defunding the police, that probably is what the electorate fears. Many people might prefer something else in lieu of the traditional police presence in our cities. But few simply want the police to vanish.

Absent the kind of federal aid that Republicans are currently blocking, that’s what’s going to happen. America is going to have fewer police, and fewer teachers and mental health workers, and fewer summer job programs and community centers, and just generally less of everything. That’s unlikely to be a happy ending for anyone.

Because Trump is a dotard with the IQ of a piece of shit.

Trump has never actually talked about this proposed further reduction in police spending, as far as I can tell, and it’s sharply at odds with both his rhetoric about the police and police unions’ enthusiastic embrace of him. But that disjuncture is part of a more general distinction between the memetic politics of police and the real world of budgeting, where GOP tax and spending policies squeeze law enforcement along with every other form of front-line public service provision.

Democrats are trying to save police departments from cuts
The fact that Joe Biden refuses to embrace the idea of “defunding the police” has attracted a fair amount of attention in recent days. Instead, he’s proposed spending “an additional $300 million to reinvigorate community policing in our country,” arguing in USA Today that “every single police department should have the money they need to institute real reforms like adopting a national use of force standard, buying body cameras, and recruiting more diverse police officers.”

But the larger and more significant budgetary context is that the HEROES Act passed by House Democrats and stalled by Senate Republicans appropriates $900 billion to state and local governments.

With that kind of fiscal support, cities that don’t want to defund their police departments wouldn’t have to. And cities that do want to experiment with shifting funding out of law enforcement and into mental health, drug treatment, and youth services will have the opportunity to do that.

Republicans, meanwhile, have characterized this idea as a “blue state bailout” and say Congress should instead consider changes to bankruptcy law that might allow states to shed their pension obligations in bankruptcy.

Given the strain that the Covid-19 crisis has placed on state and local budgets, a lack of federal aid makes cuts to policing essentially inevitable. These would not be cuts on the divest/reinvest model favored by anti-police activists but just old-fashioned budget cuts where there is less money for everything. And while it’s true that shedding pension obligations could relieve some pressure on current-day spending, many of those pension benefits go to police officers — who typically retire early and collect generous defined benefit pensions.

American cities are facing broad arbitrary austerity
Advocates of defunding or even “abolishing” the police are not generally talking about broad-brush cuts to budgets that just happen to include cuts to police budgets. Instead, the most common model is a dual movement to divest from law enforcement and security functions in order to invest in other social services.

Donald Trump is defunding the police

He’s proposed cuts in budget after budget, and is holding up needed fiscal aid.

President Trump has repeatedly proposed cuts in federal funding for police, criticized landmark legislation that boosted financial support for police departments, and is currently involved in blocking legislation that would greatly reduce pressure on local governments to cut police funding.

In layman’s terms, he’s been trying to defund the police.

Of course activists and intellectuals who have rallied behind the slogan “defund the police” have something bigger and grander in mind than random budget cuts. Ayobami Laniyonu, the University of Toronto sociologist, explains to my colleague Sean Illing that he wants “reinvestment of that money in otherwise underserved and marginalized communities. Let’s get rid of the practice of managing homelessness, inequality, poverty, the consequences of decades of racial segregation, and the consequences of decades of disinvestment in public health with armed members of law enforcement.”

But as leading Democrats from former Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. James Clyburn on down have largely refused the call, Republicans have nonetheless pressed forward with a message of opposition to defunding police departments.

What Republicans haven’t done is actually change their policy positions. They continue to be in favor of forcing state and local governments to enact massive rounds of austerity in response to the coronavirus pandemic. And even though polling shows the idea of cutting police funding to be unpopular, realistically, states and cities facing huge budget holes are going to need to ask police departments to share in some of the pain.

This dispute about budgeting — where Democrats are fighting against austerity and Republicans are fighting for it — is different from the theoretical argument police abolitionists want to have about the future of law enforcement. But it’s a real one playing out this summer in Congress with real consequences for the lives of hundreds of millions of people. And in this debate, it’s Trump who wants to defund the police.

Trump’s budgets have routinely proposed police cuts
In early February of this year, the Trump administration proposed a 58 percent cut in the federal government’s COPS Hiring Program, a federal program that supports police department staffing. That’s not a one-off; his administration’s budget proposals have routinely called for huge cuts to this program, which was inaugurated in the 1990s as part of Bill Clinton’s pledge to hire 100,000 new police officers (Congress keeps declining to do this).

Police staffing levels have stagnated and fallen since the heyday of this program in part as a result of the general trend toward state and local budget cuts in the wake of the Great Recession and huge GOP electoral wins in the 2010 midterms.

Police staffing levels have stagnated and fallen since the heyday of this program in part as a result of the general trend toward state and local budget cuts in the wake of the Great Recession and huge GOP electoral wins in the 2010 midterms.

https://www.vox.com/2020/6/16/21286669/donald-trump-is-defunding-the-police

The impeached Fat Orange Bastard is already defunding the police...

I agree with you that the constant plagiarism and copyright violations are beyond getting old.

Perhaps if we all joined in the practice instead of just the troll doing it, it would soon become obvious how intolerable it was.

This is an excellent idea! Let's make it happen.

Um, because it takes serious study and reflection to realistically address such a complicated problem? You know, as opposed to regurgitating alternative facts from Fox News.

In other words, you got nothing.. Why not just man up and admit it??

Aaaand... [80] and [82] demonstrate a GOP "go to" move, namely, deflect the question by trying to change the subject.

Typical.

And typical of Democrats that they have a plan but they refuse to share it...

So, I'll just assume yer talking out yer ass and have no idea about police SOP and reform...

As you say...

You can see for yourself a compilation of my links...

Indeed, they are archived. Anybody with an elementary school education and a memory that lasts longer than a few hours already knows your "go to" website is Fox News. Not rocket science.

Victoria is as wrong now as she was when she tried to claim that Minneapolis doesn't allow the knee the neck restraint move.

I never said that, of course.

Video evidence. Minnesota allows that maneuver -- banned across America -- only in certain circumstances, and this didn't fit the description.

I said they allowed it in certain circumstances and gave my opinion multiple times thereafter that part of this incident didn't fit the circumstances in which it was allowed. Russ apparently misunderstood what I wrote, and you're just an inveterate lying liar who lies all the time on this forum. But thanks for volunteering to highlight your own ignorance and inability to read; it's always a bonus when stupid people point out their repeated inability to comprehend written English.

I prove that at the time of the George Floyd arrest, MPD certainly did allow the restraint move..

I never said they didn't. You just have a well-documented reading comprehension problem... and you lie all the time.

You really can't put yer faith into ANYTHING Victoria claims.... She never has any facts to back up her hysterical rantings.

You are entitled to your opinion, but it's still just the opinion of a poor fat bald uneducated and penniless lying useful idiot... who dances on cue. *laughs*

Third, why do only Republicans take anti racism "protest" so personally? Why do kneeling NFL players bother you guys so much? It's not like you guys have anything to feel guilty about, right?

MC,

But hay.. Since you appear to be so into NASCAR.... :D

A NASCAR driver raced in a 'Back the Blue' car in support of police

(CNN)Days after NASCAR's only full-time black driver raced in a Black Lives Matter-themed car, a competitor drove with a symbol of Blue Lives Matter on its hood.

At Sunday's NASCAR Xfinity race in Homestead, Florida, driver Kyle Weatherman debuted a newly designed car emblazoned with the hashtag "Back the Blue" in support of police and first responders.

The hood of Weatherman's Camaro bore the Thin Blue Line flag, an emblem of the Blue Lives Matter organization, a national group of police and their supporters originally formed to counter the Black Lives Matter movement.

The Thin Blue Line flag resembles an American flag but in black and white, with one blue stripe in the middle. The blue line is meant to symbolize law enforcement. The space above the blue line represents societal order, and the space below the line is meant to be crime and chaos. The "thin blue line" of law enforcement separates the two, according to Thin Blue Line USA, which makes pro-police clothing and gifts that support police nonprofits.

Again... ^^^^^ Note the NON-FOXNEWS link... :D

I just love proving Democrat's lies... It's fun... :D

Please explain why, when football players kneel to protest racism

Institutionalized racism is dead in this country.. It died the day we voted a black American as POTUS...

Outside of Affirmative Action, give me ANY ***FACTS*** that prove institutionalized racism..

You can't because none exists...

Institutionalized Racism is the boogeyman that the Democrat Party uses to continue to enslave black Americans...

The Democrat Party is still the Party of slave owners.. The plantation has just been changed.. Now it's the welfare office and the crack houses that are the new plantations..

And the Democrat Party wants to make sure those continue to run smoothly...

"We need to tear down the crack houses before we tear down the monuments."

Of course, the Democrat Party WANTS the crack houses to remain standing..

Makes it easier to continue their policy of enslaving black Americans..

I wish you were more discriminating, Michale. :)

I am... I don't like terrorists.. I don't like it when the NFL and Infinity Ward honor Terrorists and terrorist groups...

I am very discriminating... :D

Boy, "I am very discriminating" is a self goal if I ever saw one.

Ahem.

Please explain why, when football players kneel to protest racism (without, objectively, adding a bleeping nanosecond to our anthem, Mr. Alternative Facts) that becomes in your mind "... the NFL and Infinity Ward honor[ing] Terrorists and terrorist groups... ?"
Yes, please help me make that leap.

P. S. And whotthehell is Infinity Ward?

But anyways.. Moving on...

Media bungle Atlanta police shooting and claim victim was 'unarmed'

The shooting death this weekend of Rayshard Brooks is tragic. It also does not appear to be a cut-and-dried case of wanton police brutality, despite what you may have heard from news reports.

“The family of Rayshard Brooks, an unarmed black man who was shot twice in the back by a white Atlanta police officer on Friday after he fell asleep in his car, have called for murder charges and a radical overhaul of the city’s police department,” the Guardian reported Monday.

Earlier, on Sunday, MSNBC ran a segment that claimed Brooks was “an unarmed African American man.”

This does not quite appear to be the whole story.

On Friday, Atlanta police officers responded to complaints that Brooks had fallen asleep in his car in a Wendy’s parking lot. What began as a sobriety test reportedly spun out of control, turning into a violent altercation between the officers and Brooks, who supposedly had been drinking. In the ensuing struggle, Brooks allegedly took an officer’s Taser. The Atlanta man then broke free from the tussle and began to flee on foot. As he made his getaway, Brooks appeared to fire the stolen Taser at one of the police officers, who responded by using deadly force. Brooks was shot and killed. The Fulton County medical examiner ruled Sunday that the man's death was a homicide.

Witness videos uploaded to social media shortly after the incident appear to show Brooks stealing and firing the Taser at the officers. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also said in a statement made available at around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday that Brooks had attempted to use the stun gun on the officers. Footage made publicly available that same day appears to back up this version of events.

^^^^ NON- FOX NEW link. :D

Yea, the Leftist media really bungled the Rayhorn Brooks shooting..

Reminds me of the time that NBC altered George Zimmerman's audio to make it sound like Z was a racist...

Why can't the Leftist Media simply report the FACTS???

Victoria is as wrong now as she was when she tried to claim that Minneapolis doesn't allow the knee the neck restraint move. I prove that at the time of the George Floyd arrest, MPD certainly did allow the restraint move..

You really can't put yer faith into ANYTHING Victoria claims.... She never has any facts to back up her hysterical rantings.

As I just proved beyond any doubt... :D

But it's easy to prove you wrong.. Have all the football payers holding up PRESIDENT TRUMP FOR RE-ELECTION and watch you liberals and snowflakes destroy their TVs...

Only in the tiny minds of Trumpanzee morons is holding up words on signs exactly like a silent protest.

It's not a first amendment issue when you are being paid to do a specific thing..

That's why journalists are prevented from receiving salaries. *laughs* You're an idiot.

Look at the afore mentioned TRUMP FOR RE-ELECTION signs to see what I mean..

Because holding up a political ad for a specific candidate is the EXACT same thing as a person kneeling in silence... when you're an idiot.

I have already explained it to you once.. As it was explained last year when America Hating assholes started this..

The asshole Trump hijacked the silent protest of football players and made it all about Trump -- when it never was about Trump and still isn't about Trump -- and so now the morons like Mike insist that the silent protest is about Trump because they're Trump's useful idiots and definitely swallow.

Reps. Jim Clyburn and Ilhan Omar have very different views on what the polarizing slogan means.

House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) explicitly rejected the “defund the police” slogan that has emerged among progressive activists fighting against police brutality and racism in recent weeks, saying on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday that “nobody is going to defund the police.”

Later on the same program, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) embraced the term. She suggested defunding efforts are often misunderstood, and argued that they do not mean “that the community is not going to be kept safe.”

The disconnect between the two prominent Democrats symbolizes how “defund the police” is emerging as a wedge issue between the activist left flank of the party and its more moderate leadership. The nature of the debate also brings to the fore advocates’ and critics’ struggle to communicate precisely what the phrase “defund the police” means as they go about adopting or rejecting it.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Clyburn firmly opposed embracing the concept amid Democrats’ push for criminal justice reform legislation.

“I would simply say, as I have always said, nobody is going to defund the police,” he said. “We can restructure the police forces, restructure, reimagine policing. That is what we are going to do. The fact of the matter is, the police have a role to play. What we have got to do is make sure that their role is one that meets the times, one that responds to these communities that they operate in.”

Clyburn went on to say that growing up he didn’t fear the police, but that “all of a sudden now I do fear police.”

“The fact of the matter is this is a structure that has been developed that we’ve got to deconstruct. So I wouldn’t say defund. Deconstruct our policing,” he said.

I have a well-rounded repertoire of links that move up and down and Left and Right of the Political Spectrum...

All of which goes to prove and/or support the point I am trying to make..

For example, JM explicitly stated that calls by Democrats to defund the police aren't really serious..

And by the various Left Wing links, I have proven that it IS serious..

And it's SERIOUSLY going to hamper and drag on Democrats in November..

Much like that Kente Scarf pandering Democrat Leadership tried... That was so resoundingly slapped down by black Americans..

Shoulda been a MDDOTW award there, but what do I know, eh?? :D

Biden still had blunders over the last few months that would have made headline news during normal times but were quickly forgotten amid the pandemic reports. Honorable mentions include when he asserted black Trump supporters are not really black, stated just 85,000 jobs were lost due to the coronavirus but millions had died, and appeared to fall asleep during a virtual town hall with Hillary Clinton. Such faux pas will become more frequent as Biden is forced into public and will do greater political damage with a news cycle more focused on the election.

The shifting news cycle will also place his track record under increased scrutiny, most notably his pivotal role writing the disastrous 1994 crime bill. His tough on crime overhaul may be considered common sense to moderates, but the protests reveal what a political liability it is among Democrats today. The bill raised police funding and was so strict that Biden said it did it all except “hang people for jaywalking.”

While the lockdowns allowed Biden to hide his all greatest flaws, they also prevented Donald Trump from using his greatest strengths. The president is at his best in front of energized crowds at his massive rallies. Due to the coronavirus, he has not utilized his most potent tool just yet. However, the reinvigoration of the Trump campaign through its heavily attended events will serve as a reminder of the reasons why he won four years ago. His first rally since the start of the pandemic will be next weekend.

Simply CANNOT wait until President Trump comes to JAX.. I am gonna angle to get a selfie with President Trump... That would make my day!! :D

How the end of lockdown will hurt Joe Biden amid the campaign trail

Joe Biden might be the luckiest person in politics. Despite endless gaffes and awkward encounters, he became the Democratic nominee following several candidates dropping out and the implosion of the Bernie Sanders campaign. Biden had another major boost with the coronavirus lockdown. Stuck at home, some of his worst qualities, including degraded language skills, a tendency to pick fights with his supporters, and his dubious track record, became hidden from the public. However, with restrictions being lifted across many states, his weakness will be laid bare.

Before the lockdowns, his campaign was flailing. Biden seemed to make it a point to stick his foot in his mouth at every available opportunity. Do you remember when he called a voter a “damn liar” in Iowa? Or when he oddly asserted that 150 million people have died from gun violence over the last 13 years? While these incidents might seem like forever ago with all that is going on in the country, they shaped the poor public perception of Biden before the coronavirus took the spotlight away from him.

With the lockdowns ending, Biden will lose his advantage of staying out of the spotlight. He will have to transition from interviews with friendly hosts, conducted from his home in Delaware where aides could carefully control optics, to the unpredictable style of town halls. Without any handlers able to manage every moment, his loose tongue or instigative attitude toward voters threaten to define the remainder of his campaign.

Americans are going to be exposed to Joe McSniffyHair Biden in all his gaffe-prone glory....

Personally, I think it's cruel to force a dementia sufferer to endure a rigorous campaign... But Democrats have to run SOMEONE and McSniffy is all they have...

Have to wonder if he'll vaporlock, like Hillary did.. Have to be tossed into a dark van like a sack o potatoes..

Why the U.S. Military Still Loves Donald Trump

The military noted these insults and repaid Trump in kind by overwhelmingly voting for him in the 2016 election, where Trump outpolled Clinton among those in uniform by a two-to-one margin.

In fact, the military’s support for Trump wasn’t surprising, and most especially to those in the military’s most senior ranks. “The military is a conservative organization, and that’s especially true among enlisted personnel,” retired Col. Kevin Benson, the former director of the Army’s prestigious School of Advanced Military Studies, told me during a lengthy telephone interview in the wake of the election. “So it stands to reason that Trump would appeal to them. In many ways, I think, he speaks their language.” Nor is it a shock, as Benson now concludes, that Trump retains the popularity that he enjoyed nearly four years ago. “He’s done some controversial things, for sure,” Benson told me recently. “But, and in spite of that, he’s still viewed as pro-military by those in uniform. He’s aware of that view, and he cultivates it.”

While Trump’s support among servicemen and women has slipped since his election, according to a December poll conducted by the Military Times, which featured the news with an eye-popping headline: Troops’ Opinion of Trump Heads Down. Still, he is more popular now than when Barack Obama was when he left office. And while these numbers are dated and may be revised in light of the urban turmoil spurred by the George Floyd incident in Minneapolis, there is no reason to believe that they’ve changed significantly over the last six months. In fact, Trump’s numbers among the military have remained remarkably consistent during his four-year presidency, despite the recent slippage. The military consistently and historically has supported Trump in greater numbers than those of the general population, where Trump’s popularity has taken a nosedive. Which is to note that Trump not only retains his core support among conservative and Republican service members?—who outnumber self-described liberals and Democrats, among those in uniform, by a wide margin?—it appears that the voting public is far more upset with the way that Trump treats the military than the military itself. “I suppose that it’s a sign of just how conservative we are as an institution,” a senior military officer noted. “In my view, Trump’s presidency hasn’t been particularly good for the military but that’s a minority view. Apparently, when Obama reduces the military to rubble it’s an outrage but when Trump does it it’s perfectly OK.”

Remind the class how to point out areas in need of improvement (you know, that "...in order to form a more perfect Union" stuff) is " hating America. "

You still have yet to mention your ideas on Police Reform..

Why can't you do that???

Because there are NO ideas out there.. All your Dumbocrats want to do is abolish the Police...

Yea.. THAT is a winning platform to run on!! :D

First off, it doesn't add a nanosecond to anyone's football experience.

That's not your call to make on anyone else's behalf...

But it's easy to prove you wrong.. Have all the football payers holding up PRESIDENT TRUMP FOR RE-ELECTION and watch you liberals and snowflakes destroy their TVs...

Secondly, why is the exercise of our First Amendment rights offensive to you?

It's not a first amendment issue when you are being paid to do a specific thing..

Look at the afore mentioned TRUMP FOR RE-ELECTION signs to see what I mean..

Third, why do only Republicans take anti racism "protest" so personally? Why do kneeling NFL players bother you guys so much? It's not like you guys have anything to feel guilty about, right?

I have already explained it to you once.. As it was explained last year when America Hating assholes started this..

We saw how viewership and TV ratings and attendance plummeted when the America hating racists did their bit..

I simply point out it's going to happen again this year...

Chief Justice Roberts simply went along with the Liberal side so HE would be the one who actually wrote the opinion..

Roberts did not write the opinion.

That way, the opinion could be tailored and narrowed to fit the conservative opinion...

The opinion wasn't narrowed; it upheld judgments of two lower courts and reversed and remanded another case for further proceedings consistent with the opinion written by Gorsuch... not Roberts.

Had CJR NOT sided with the liberals, then the liberals still would have won, but it would be RBG who would write the opinion and CJR knew THAT opinion would be overly broad and be totally against what Conservatives wanted...

You're either a liar, an uneducated moron... or both. I will allow others to decide, but I think you're both. It isn't "discrimination" to have an opinion that Trump and Trumpanzees like yourself are liars, idiots... or both.

CJR's vote was tactical in nature, allowing the conservatives to control the narrative and write the opinion in the way the conservatives wanted it written...

We do not hesitate to recognize today a necessary consequence of that legislative choice: An employer who fires an individual merely for being gay or transgender defies the law.

The judgments of the Second and Sixth Circuits in Nos. 17–1623 and 18–107 are affirmed. The judgment of the Eleventh Circuit in No. 17–1618 is reversed, and the case is remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.

It is so ordered.

https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/19pdf/17-1618_hfci.pdf

So to recap: Good thing those conservatives narrowed that whole thing and didn't actually make it illegal to fire someone because they are gay or transgender. Oh, wait!

The players time is not their own.. When they take the field, they are on MY time... I am paying their salaries.. And I don't want to see bullshit America Hate in place of a football game...

attention to ordinary black people."
