as to why i believed christine blasey ford and don't find tara reade's story entirely credible, it has zero to do with the politics. blasey ford is a professional with very little public profile, who had a lot to lose and very little to gain by coming forward. there's no motive for her to lie, and she didn't appear to really want to tell her story publicly.

reade on the other hand appears to be anxious to bring attention to herself, and has been consistently described as being that way in other facets of her life, by friends and acquaintances. she has demonstrated both the motive to lie about her personal life and the penchant for doing so to bring herself attention or financial gain. and all that without even getting into all her weird posts about liking vladimir putin with his shirt off.

mind you, that doesn't necessarily mean she's lying about this, it just means that it's harder to take her allegations at face value.

My ISP said the site was up all along, but only with the numeric URL. If you tried to use "chrisweigant.com" it wasn't in the DNS system any more. But maybe because you were already connected to the site, it just kept working, I dunno.

Sanders supporters, of course, have every incentive to weaponize this last-minute accusation against Biden in an attempt to deny him the nomination. And Biden fans have every reason to roll their eyes at these attempts; they can write off Reade as someone who, at the very least, waited too long to tell her story, and was a supporter of rival campaigns.

Both sides have a point. Barring the emergence of some really credible documentation, it's going to be nearly impossible to informally adjudicate—formal adjudication being absolutely impossible—the accusation. Too much time has passed.

On the other hand, the very recent precedent set by the mainstream media and mainstream liberals during the Kavanaugh episode is that all accusations should be revisited, no matter how old. Indeed, one could make a better argument for considering Reade's accusation than Blasey Ford's: the latter concerns behavior that occurred during the accused person's teenage years in the early 1980s, whereas Biden allegedly committed his transgression while a sitting U.S. senator. And again, Biden himself has taken the position that we should believe women even if it takes them a very, very long time to come forward.

Again, the contrast between Democrats reactions in the Kavanaugh instance and the reactions with the Biden sexual assault is a fascinating study in hypocrisy...

I’m afraid that COVID-19 is looking to be the ying to Ebola’s yang! The biggest, and most disturbing, finding to date is that it causes massive blood clots throughout the infected person’s body and is not necessarily a respiratory illness. Where Ebola causes bleeding, the coronavirus causes clotting that blood thinners have been ineffective against.

Autopsies have revealed that people weren’t dying from pneumonia as originally believed; they died from pulmonary embolisms. These blood clots have caused 30 something year olds that had shown no symptoms of the virus to suddenly suffer strokes. It was only after being hospitalized for the strokes that they learned that they tested positive for the coronavirus.

My aunt in a Georgia nursing home has tested positive for the virus. My father just told me last night that she found out two weeks ago...after six residents that tested positive in her nursing home died. The entire facility is under quarantine now, thankfully.

The Soldier’s Home in our community just reported their first positive case of the virus...which means that it is likely that everyone there has it.

Michale, did you ever test positive for COVID-19? Chris mentioned that you had the symptoms, but that you had tested negative. Did they do a blood test to see if you had the antibodies in your blood even though you were testing negative for the virus? I believe that our tests might require too high of a viral load in order to count as positive...and people are infected with it even though the virus is undetectable when they are tested.

This virus is proving to be a nasty one — that is for sure!

I know you're just pushing liz's buttons, but really, again with the tara reade story? We will see what comes of it, but there's nobody else leveling that kind of accusation against biden, and while most sexual assault allegations are true, there are a number of red flags to suggest this one might not be.
