False equivalence. How can you possibly attempt to equate voluntary shutdowns with involuntary outages?

Dumfuckery of the highest order!

CW,

I cannot believe that the shutoff is being done as a “preventative measure” fearing wildfires caused by high winds knocking down power lines! I would be extremely pissed! Part of what you are paying them for is to guarantee service when the weather allows it. If they have not kept up tree trimming or better securing of their power lines, then that is on them.

I am sick of utilities (and I include internet providers In my list of “utilities”) having monopolies in communities throughout this country. We overpay for shotty service because corporations must pay their CEO’s 7 & 8 figure paychecks to provide us such top level service...or so we are told by their lobbyists. Good luck!

CRS,

Yes, I didn’t catch my misspelled word. At least I didn’t use Wayne-ing.

If Blyth knew Russian meddling was taking place at the time, his not telling the rest of us definitely helped get Trump elected! See the problem with this argument of yours — of course he didn’t include it as for why he thought Trump would win. But his is just one person’s opinion on the subject, and while some of his may sound reasonable, it doesn’t mean that he was correct.

And blaming the Democrats for choosing the person who won the primaries to be their candidate is idiotic. She beat Bernie soundly, and was the clear choice of Americans by over 3 million votes. She lost the EC.

It’s funny that you want to blame Democrats for Trump, while ignoring that the Republicans allowed themselves to be taken over by someone simply because he could out lie the liars! He used every dirty trick that they normally use, put them on steroids, then brutally used them against the GOP establishment. The GOP’s base had gotten so sick of being lied to that they welcomed an obvious con man running because it caused the establishment such pain.

Most Republican voters I know were quick to say that while they voted for Trump, they never believed he truly had a chance at winning. And the ones who only get their news from FoxNews think he’s done an OK to pretty good job.

Listen

I'm convinced that what's "waining" here is rationality and common sense.

You guys are willing to twist yourselves into pretzels trying to escape the need to admit that YOU created the Trump presidency by nominating the only person in your party capable of losing to our moron-in-chief.

Every one of you Weigantians should pull up the Youtube video of Mark Blyth explaining sometime in mid summer of 2016 who was going to win the presidential election, and the reason he was going to win, (and I'll warn you, Russian meddling wasn't even on the list.)

CRS,

Huffpo saying a Senate report just released claims thet Russian interferance in U.S. elections ramped up between the 2016 Pres. election and the 2018 mid-terms, and is already up more for 2020.

So does that indicate, as I've always claimed, that it is not nearly as effective as Democratics believe, seeing as how they won in the mid-terms?

Or was it incredibly successful in 2016, but as people were made aware of their use of fake news stories and sites like Facebook and Twitter started removing known bots and foreign accounts posing as Americans, did their effectiveness wain? Rarely does any one type of marketing remain extremely effective for very long.

That the amount of Russian interference has increased every year signifies only what it claims : they are working harder to interfere in our elections, because we did catch on to their methods.

And don’t think that Russia’s goal was solely to support conservative views...their main goals are focused on flaming the fires of topics that divide us as a country! They had sites pushing Black Lives Matters lies and other sites pushing Blue Lives Matter lies. They ran pro-gun sites and sites demanding we repeal the 2nd Amendment.

Honestly, I keep waiting for Russia to drop the MOAB evidence showing Trump’s corruption and willingness to sell out our country to the highest bidder. They got their money’s worth out of him — better than they could have ever hoped minus the fact that he didn’t get all the sanctions they faced removed. He’s been great at dividing the country, and exposing him now would only divide our country more.

It’s one thing to have an idiot running the country, it’s another to have a corrupt traitor selling his office to foreign buyers. It would further destroy our nation’s reputation and standing with our global partners, which helps Putin promote Russia’s standing. The United States will be viewed the same way Central American countries known for their corruption are viewed — unfavorably!

Don't get me started on PG&E...

Everyone -

Well, the word is now that the power cut (if it happens) has been pushed back to 8:00 PM Pacific.

Also, there's a new column up, so check it out before it goes dark!

Holy infrastructure holes, Batman! 3-5 days is a long time! This is a great reminder for why our country needs to put the smack down on the extremist fringes in both parties that refuse to compromise and work across the aisle to get things done!

We must stop allowing groups to paint subjects like “vaccines” and “climate change” as “political issues”... they are NOT political issues! We can debate how to best deal with them, but not whether these issues are REAL or not!

We’ve sat back and wasted time debating idiots and allowing their opinions to carry as much weight as our facts do...that has to stop! Maybe when we stop being nice about respecting both sides opinions, then we will have time to fix our country’s lengthy list of repairs.
