The forecasting of the weather isn't a "political dispute." If the President of the United States incorrectly informs an entire state via a tweet that a potential deadly weather event is "most likely" going to "hit (much) harder than anticipated" and ends the tweet with "GOD BLESS EVERYONE," then scientists with their phones ringing off the hook ought to be able to do their jobs as scientists and notify the inquiring people who want the facts. Alabama wasn't in the path of Dorian when Trump made the false tweet, and the taxpayers of Alabama had a right to know that whether the Moron-In-Chief is a thin-skinned Fat Bastard or not. :)

Trump's statement was not correct. There was no time at which it was forecast that Alabama would "most likely be hit" at all. The probability topped out at 20%. Even if that 20% chance had been realized, the "much harder than" part wouldn't apply. The possible brush with the fringes of Dorian by a small part of Alabama was never expected to be much harder than a gentle summer breeze.

However,

Comparing the presidential election of 2016 to the House elections of 2018, the difference was swing voting, contrary to what I believed. But when they compare apples to apples (congressional vs congressional, 2014 and 2018) the difference is which voters turn out.
