Actually it is you that continues to prove my points.

*Laughs* You would have to actually make a point for anyone to prove it, and you ever so rarely make a point.

Unfortunately, it seems that with a few occasional exceptions that when the majority of commenters here use their critical thinking skills and realize they are not able to refute my arguments, they tend to do as you do- deflect to something else or change my argument to fit the response you want to make or just make stuff up.

Wrong... multiple times... exponentially wrong. With almost no exceptions, nearly everyone on this board... including the author... has at one time or another addressed -- and many have multiple times over addressed -- your monotonous and repetitive shit with substantive comments and helpful suggestions, and with almost no exceptions, you have responded with the same bullshit above you've repeated here yet again.

realize they are not able to refute my arguments

Repeated phrase... for focus... and I would wager without hesitation that no one here has ever once "realized they are not able to refute" your arguments, and it is the height of bone penetrating stupidity for you claim to know what others have "realized" unless you're claiming to read minds across the web, but I digress. Quite the contrary, Don, several commenters here as well as the author have successfully and repeatedly refuted your "arguments," whereupon you responded to their substantive comments and ideas by accusing them of "deflection."

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. ~ Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

So to recap: Your "go-to" response to substantive comments regarding your so-called "arguments" is to claim the very valid and dead on relative responses contain "deflection." As irony would have it: Your deflection is to claim deflection... where none exists because your whining grievances and repetitive "spewage" are unequivocally and without question addressed ad nauseam.

But you just keep on being proud that other commenters agree with you on how beautiful the emporer's new clothes are.

You should divest yourself of the ridiculous notion that you know anything about how I feel or what I or anyone else believes or is thinking about what others are thinking. It's asinine on it's face to keep claiming to know what other posters "realize" or think or believe or feel ... as well as other voters... and particularly perilous when you're admittedly uneducated and demonstrably ignorant on a serial basis regarding said subjects.

I do not claim that I know what all voters are thinking or what motivates them to vote how they vote.

So back to our original discussion and your pathetic rant regarding your "constitutional" rights being violated without explanation by the State of Maine (when you're not even a resident of said state) and your whining grievances regarding your rights being violated via the voting booth, wherein I fully discussed your bullshit (notwithstanding your mental capacity or lack thereof to recognize it), please stop making an ass of yourself with your "ass" "umptions" unless you're quite content to continue making (a) my points and (b) yourself look ignorant. :)

While it might well be a mind-blowing experience to learn that you've spent the majority of your life absolutely clueless and flailing, it is still and without question never too late to get an education. It's the gift that you can give yourself that keeps right on giving back. :)

You would think after all this time that Kick could have come up with something new or at least be able to address the issue with some thing other than unsubstantiated and incorrect claims aboot constitutional rights.

It's been covered multiple times now, and you still actually believe that Maine owes you an explanation for violating your constitutional right to "freedom of speech" via the voting booth? And you don't even live in Maine!? So your brand of stupid really does go all the way down to the bone. :)

The lack of substance in the comment seems to indicate that the most likely explanation for the delay was that Kick needed to take a quick refresher course in deflection at Phoenix University (or maybe Devry?).

And there you have it... confirmation that Don's stupid apparently permeates straight through the bone and into the marrow. Damn, Don... it takes a special kind of bone penetrating stupid for a guy with admittedly zero education to knock someone who would attempt to obtain one, and I would wager it didn't even cross your "mind" that those you're criticizing for attending DeVry and PU have more of an education that you do. In other words, you're making my point! :)

Or perhaps Kick was just having a bad day and needed to feel good aboot herself by attempting to demean someone else.

I don't have bad days, Don; my days are all good days, though admittedly some days are better than other days... still, all good days. Perhaps you're overthinking it *laughs* or perhaps you're simply projecting onto me your own attempts to feel good about yourself through a demeaning board comment; it was you, after all, who called my original comment "bullshit" and were "forced" to respond to it elsewhere and also you who felt the need to criticize my education (no... not DeVry, not Phoenix U)... and just so you know, it is side-splitting comedy in the circles I run when a dipshit with no education whatsoever attempts to demean anybody who has one. It deserves the kind of howls of laughter that Donald Trump gets around here when he criticizes Mikey Cohen for being a "liar." It's like if Donald Trump started criticizing another man for being... orange! :)

Whatever the reason, the break was nice while it lasted.

Yes, Don. Just keep telling yourself that everyone here believes you wanted a "break" when it was indeed you who felt the need to continue a conversation where the comments had already been closed... "forcing" you to respond somewhere else in order to keep it going. That'll show me. *shakes head* You are, of course, free to believe the little lies you tell yourself, but you really should have noticed by now that the majority of posters here possess the critical thinking skills of which you are sorely lacking. :)

isn't that from like a month ago?

Ask Don Harris since he is the one who felt the need to continue the conversation after comments were already closed.

I'm playing catch up... multiple funerals out of town recently... so I responded.

I post to suit no one. :)

As the comments from the last FTP are now closed I must respond to your bullshit here.

Poor little Don. Your First Amendment right to "freedom of speech" has obviously been violated yet again, and *horror* the author did so without any justification whatsoever. :)

Since when do the rules require no justification if the rules limit a constitutional right?

So to refresh, we were speaking about voting in the State of Maine, and you equated voting in the State of Maine with your constitutional right to freedom of speech... *sigh* … and you don't live in Maine. I reiterate here that neither I nor the Great State of Maine owes you any justification regarding their voting rules.

Once again, I did not say I have unlimited rights.

Yes, Don, but anyone can comment that your First Amendment rights are limited rights without you having to "say" they are unlimited. If you keep posting stupid stuff over and over where you claim that the Constitution of the United States grants you rights that it obviously and without question does not grant you (or anyone else), it should not surprise you in the least if people continue to explain to you that your rights as bestowed by the Constitution are indeed limited rights.

I said if you want to limit my rights you have to have justification by demonstrating how exercising my rights causes harm.

And I reiterate: No, I do not. Your rights get limited every day by people who need no justification for doing so and have no obligation whatsoever to demonstrate how exercising your perceived rights causes harm... deal with it.

I never said everyone agrees with me.

You keep repeating the same "lesser of two evils" and "both sides" bullshit over and over as if it is a universal truth when it isn't.

I said I have the right to free speech even if no one agrees with me.

Your perceived rights to "free speech" can be limited exponentially. Let that finally sink in, Don, because it's factual.

All you ever do is change what I say and argue against that instead of countering my actual argument.

^^^ Lie. ^^^

Assuming from your other comments aboot college that you attended and possibly graduated, how did you ever get through college to graduate if all you seem to be able to do is avoid addressing the issues?

Have you considered the fact that your admitted lack of education clouds your own ability to comprehend facts? If you haven't, you really should. :)

Did you major in deflection or just attend a shitty college?

None of your business, in fact, but notwithstanding the higher education I possess, I am first and foremost "a citizen, and I have an idea"... which far and away and without question exceeds Don Harris's stated beliefs regarding "the only credentials" that "really matters." *shakes head* *laughs* :)

I have none of the credentials normally listed in a bio. No degrees, no years of running a successful business and no experience in political campaigns or activism. I am simply an average person that has been working and living at survival mode. But I have the only credentials that I believe really matters. I am a citizen and I have an idea that may improve our political system. ~ Don Harris

I hope we eventually find out this guy has been cooperating, or is indicted: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2018/12/17/1819659/-How-a-Republican-strategist-supercharged-Russia-s-effort-to-depress-Democratic-votes

Aaron Nevins contacted “Guccifer 2.0” asked for, and received, a dump of the documents that the Russians stole from the DNC and other sources. Scanning through these documents, Nevins found the Democratic voter-turnout models and get out the vote plans. In communications, the GOP strategist realized that the Russians did not know the value of this document.

So he told them. Aaron Nevins explained to Russia how the document reflected where Democrats expected to find the votes on Election Day. It was the inside track information where to find Democratic voters and where the party intended to devote its time and efforts to bring those voters to the polls. It was also a perfect road map for Russian efforts to depress Democratic votes.

"There was all sorts of information, including analyses of data about places and kinds of people that Democrats figured were their biggest sources of voters who could be persuaded to vote their way. And there was also research that revealed what the Democrats saw as vulnerabilities of their own candidates."

Nevins presented Russia with both the messages that could be most effective and the places where it would work to hurt the Democratic effort. And he didn’t care that it was Russia on the other end of his conspiracy. Because “their interests aligned” in defeating Hillary Clinton.

Nevins didn’t just provide these documents to the Russians. Once he had located the Democratic models, he provided this information, in secret, to a still unknown number of Republican candidates—especially in Florida. That information was likely used in Republican planning not just in 2016, but also in their fingernail-thin wins in 2018.

How effective was this effort? According to Pew, black voter turnout declined in 2016 for the first time in 20 years. The record seven point drop from 2012 to 2016 didn’t just bring turnout to a lower number than either of Barack Obama’s elections, it was lower than since the 1990s...

How effective was this effort? According to Pew, black voter turnout declined in 2016 for the first time in 20 years. The record seven point drop from 2012 to 2016 didn’t just bring turnout to a lower number than either of Barack Obama’s elections, it was lower than since the 1990s...

Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani told "Fox News Sunday" that President Trump will sit down one-on-one with Special Counsel Robert Mueller "over my dead body"

That is extraordinarily generous offer from Mr. Giuliani!!! Mueller should bring a nice wreath to the one-on-one.

Let's not forget the list of all current ongoing investigations and lawsuits involving Trump and his world.

1.) The Mueller probe looking into possible collusion, obstruction of justice or other wrongdoing in contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia.

2.) The New York campaign-finance case involving hush money paid to Trump’s alleged lovers.

3.) Another case from New York examining the finances and operations of Trump’s inaugural committee and whether foreign interests made illegal payments to it.

Behind those, a battery of lawsuits or inquiries from state attorneys general and other parties tied mainly to Trump businesses.

4.) Democratic attorneys general in Maryland and the District of Columbia and congressional Democrats are challenging the Trump Organization’s business transactions with foreign and state government interests, such as those at his Washington hotel, citing the emoluments clause in the U.S. constitution.

5.) Summer Zervos, once a contestant on Trump’s TV show, has sued Trump for defamation for accusing her of lying. Her lawsuit continues to move forward, despite efforts to derail it.

6.) New York tax officials are looking into whether Trump or his charitable foundation misrepresented tax liability. Including whether Trump and his family, going back to transactions by his father, Fred Trump, cheated on taxes for decades.

7.) New York authorities allege in a lawsuit that Trump illegally tapped his charitable Trump Foundation to settle legal disputes, help his campaign for president and cover personal and business expenses, including the purchase of a life-size portrait of himself.

CW-2

Hush-A-Boom is great story ...first episode, Boris breaks the 4th wall as he breaks a fruit seller's head. That's deep!

Somebody (can't remember who) once pointed out that R&B episodes are basically classic radio plays with illustrations....typically only one thing moves on any given frame. You get 99% of the entertainment by just listening.

I laughed aloud at 'Nick Ayers in a twist'...Ten points. A wonderful englishism. Nice one, Stig, China Plate.

It's been a wild ride this year, albeit in slow motion. It's not the pace of revelations about Trump and his nefariousness, it's the deluge that makes I all seem like moments in time frozen until the next.

I leave you this year with a yutubby piece that I watch when nothing makes me smile...my go to 'cheer-me-up'.

Behold and have a merry Whatsits, and a happy new Thingy.

That is really too bad. For too many Americans It must be terrible to live with the notion that even a short sickness could be a devastating life event.

I don't understand why this issue doesn't interest people in power - so many lives, everyone's really, are directly impacted …

Well, you remember who said that Obamacare is a "big _______ deal" … apparently, he's the biggest thing in Iowa since sliced bread, or thereabouts … :)

@liz,

the supreme court as currently constituted well might uphold the decision, which would be very bad indeed for many sick people. yes the ACA is only slightly better than nothing, which is what we had before. but that slight difference makes a big difference in millions of lives, and our government is currently manned by people who are not interested in doing anything better and very interested in doing something worse.

Joshua,

Do think there is any chance that the Supreme Court will uphold this judge's decision?

The ACA has a lot of inherent problems that need to be fixed if Americans really want 'universal healthcare'. I always thought of Obamacare as just one step - a very big step to be sure - along the path to a healthcare system worthy of a great nation.

Why don't I hear Democrats talking about what needs to be done to improve the situation. It's not enough just to be for Obamacare ...

re: a texas district court judge deciding obamacare is unconstitutional - his reasoning rests on the fact that the trump tax cuts made the individual mandate no longer an effective tax, and therefore all of obamacare unconstitutional. seems to me that such reasoning would just as easily result in all of the trump tax cuts being unconstitutional, since they were passed afterward and making something illegal after it happened would be ex post-facto and therefore in violation of article I.

1) If you haven't seen it, check out Ana Navarro's reaction(s) to the Trump-Pelosi-Schumer-Pencehologram meeting. And this is a REPUBLICAN!

2) Hilarious reference to Natasha Fatale (my favorite R & B character). Great way to end the final FTP.

TheStig -

I was kind of surprised I haven't seen more of them myself. I mean, for anyone who lived through the early 1980s, it was a pretty easy reference to make, right? Full disclosure: I saw AC/DC when Bon Scott was still alive.

Oh, and to everyone else -

The reference within the article to a commenter here is about TheStig, who came up with that brilliant line on Nick Ayers.

As a rule, I don't print anyone's name (or even login name) without their prior permission, and I just didn't have time today to get that, so sorry for not crediting TheStig within the article.

:-)

It was still the best line I've heard all week...

As for moose and squirrel, again, that one just leapt to mind when I read that article-less DHS press release. Also, building a wall when ladders are easily available is exactly the kind of stupid plot thread that would have been right at home in a Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon... would Trump's wall have stopped the hush-a-boom? Inquiring minds want to know!
