Yep! The only question is how high are the barriers erected by the repubs via gerrymandering and voter suppression?

Exactly. I'm also concerned about so much BS emanating from the direction of the Orange Blowhole that people begin to get beat down and tired... believing their vote doesn't matter: Apathy and despair. :(

If enough "apathy" sets in on top of gerrymandering and voter suppression, that could play a factor with turnout. Time will tell, but I am ever the optimist.

So nice to "see" you, Paula. Go get 'em! :)

[221] Kick: I hope you're seeing out there what I'm seeing... they're coming around... just some a little slower than others! I see a turning point.

Yep! The only question is how high are the barriers erected by the repubs via gerrymandering and voter suppression? Those are the wildcards that could allow the GOP to retain power in November. The wave has to be BIG because we have to overcome additional and illegitimate hurdles. But it has been heartening to see an increasing majority of Americans reject Blotus and his followers. Our democracy is tattered right now, but not decimated and that is because good people from all corners of this country said "no" to the Orange-Dictator-wanna-be and his enablers.

For the record, I don't and have never taken anti-depressants - not that there's anything wrong with that! I'm not and never have been diagnosed with depression or any other mental/emotional illness. Since I generally block the troll I don't read whatever nonsense he spins about me, but I do read Russ and Kick, Neilm, etc.

And we miss you! But I would wager you're busy as hell because it's..... drumroll..... midterms!

Everyone knows the troll just makes shit up and repeats it so often that it's supposed to be considered an "acceptable" personal attack because it's him the one that's doing the attacking so it ain't supposed to count. I remember a time when he accused me of having a "breakdown and subsequent recovery" because he said he confused me with you. #Pathetic

His idea of "civility" is saying something nice about a poster while continuing to insult other posters. #Pathetic #Sad

I also remember a time when Elizabeth would gripe about "language" while playing tag team and allowing Michale to pop off however he wished... as long as he was popping off in your (or my) general direction.

Oh, how incredibly ambiguous of me; was I referring to Trump or Michale?! ;)

My revulsion, horror and despair at Blotus' "election" wasn't the result of depression, it was a genuine response to an existential disaster. There were millions of us who knew what Blotus was and would be and reacted accordingly. We didn't need months of evidence to pile up before we were convinced, we predicted how horrible a POTUS he would be.

Exactly right, and Paula... I hope you're seeing out there what I'm seeing... they're coming around... just some a little slower than others! I see a turning point.

Stay safe, hope you are well, come back when you can, but in the meantime... keep kicking ass out there! :)

Never have I claimed to have a "superior intellect" - only superior comprehension and superior understanding of economic matters.

Oh, CRS... *shakes head*. If only "comprehension" and "understanding" weren't synonyms of "intellect," you would have valid point, but they are... so you don't.

https://www.thesaurus.com/browse/intellect

You're doing for "intellect" what you claim I was doing for Balthy about "blaiming Bush exclusicely".

Wrong again, CRS. For one thing, I didn't misspell those words I quoted above that you quoted, and for another thing: This "superior comprehension" and "superior understanding" you (for whatever reason) believe you possess are just two other ways to imply that you have a "superior intellect." Now, had I spun what you said and claimed you possessed this superior intellect "exclusively," you would have a point, but I didn't... so you don't.

So to recap: Using words that are synonymous with my claim and agreeing with me are a surefire way to making my point and blowing multiple holes into your own, but thank you for playing. :)

Balthy characterized the financial crisis resulting from the collapse of the housing bubble as "the shithole left behind by Bush".

No, he absolutely did not. In point of fact, Balthasar wasn't even specifically discussing the "financial crisis resulting from the collapse of the housing bubble" at all... that is until you interjected, of course. He was just generally discussing the economy as a whole and stated, and I quote:

Obama rescued America from the economic shithole that Bush left it in. ~ Balthasar

I would wager that you read this general discussion of the economy and recognized your opening to turn it into one of your favorite subjects, that of the "financial crisis resulting from the collapse of the housing bubble." It was at that point that you seized upon your opening and then set about mischaracterizing Balthazar's post. For whatever reason many of us on the board cannot fathom, you genuinely believe you possess superior knowledge above all others regarding that issue, and again I quote:

But it's true, the bubble burst during Bush's administraqtion, so people with only the most superficial understanding of the financial crisis (basically everybody here except for this writer) invariably blame Bush exclusively.

It was likely for this reason that you set about turning Balthasar's general discussion of the economy into a discussion regarding the collapse of the housing bubble that you believe you are uniquely qualified to lecture the group, and therefore set about claiming that Balthasar blamed "Bush exclusively," when he, in fact, did nothing of the sort.

He sure as hell did NOT say 'Left behind by Bush and many Democrats', so that pretty much implies exclusively by Bush, does it not?

No, it does not; the implication was all your handiwork (see above).

Excuse me for stating the obvious, but you seem to be working really hard to blow multiple holes into your claim of possessing a superior intellect. :)

Balthasar,

That's bullshit and you know it,

Actually, it's factually accurate and YOU know it..

Race relations got TONS worse under Odumbo..

Odumbo called cops "stupid" for doing their jobs..

Why do you think President Trump got elected??

Because Odumbo led Democrats in shitting on the American Middle Class and the American Middle Class fought back by kicking Democrats out of office all up and down the board (over 1000) and then culminated their counter-attack in electing President Trump..

These are the FACTS that no amount of your spin will change..

Look at Trump's disapproval numbers, which haven't risen since his inauguration.

Actually, they have risen and fallen.. Just like Odumbo's numbers..

So, using YOUR OWN "logic" everything you say about President Trump, applies to Odumbo..

Do you REALLY want to go with that argument??

Obama rescued America from the economic shithole that Bush left it in. No amount of denial or stomping of feet can change that fact.

Actually, I don't need denial or feet stomping.. Just FACTS..

Democrats had more to do with the state of the economy when Odumbo took over than Bush did..

But, of course, Party slaves can't admit that....

I missed the part where Balthasar blamed Bush "exclusively." Oh, right; that's because he didn't. The fact that you are imagining the part of the post you are taking issue with blows about a thousand holes in your claim to your superior intellect. Just saying. :)

The vast majority of Trump supporters that I know cannot answer the most basic policy questions, because they don’t follow politics, they just accept what FoxNews tells them.

I can attest to that. The Trump voters I know repeat the same thing over and over like useful idiots as if on cue regardless of the subject matter: "Economy good under Trump; economy bad under Obama." Of course, it's not that simple, but Fox "News" has done its job and spoon fed them a steady diet of that "simple" bullshit that allowed them to cease all manner of critical thinking, and they then regurgitate it on cue ad nauseam. I guess it's infinitely easier for them to free themselves from critically thinking and surrender their brains to the bubble. I ask my Trumper friends to give me a call when their bubble bursts and they are free from the grips of propaganda. I'm getting calls lately. They are coming around slowly.

He tried to argue that the police take children from their parents all the time in this country to defend Trump’s border policy. Only problem was that the children seeking asylum were taken not because they were abused or their parents had committed a serious crime — the Trump administration made it perfectly clear that the children were taken to send a message to asylum seekers that their kind are not welcome here!

The false equivalency and outright fabrication is another means to avoid thinking. The cognitive dissonance, whataboutism, and pretzel logic are stunning.

As some who counseled teens for years and who has seen firsthand the damage that words can cause, I will not remain silent when a person is told that they should kill themselves.

Isn't it pathetic? A so-called "law enforcement officer" who'd post this type of spew on a public forum with nary a thought to the consequences tells you everything you need to know, but gaslighters of his variety don't care that words have consequences. Hopefully no one else out there is taking his bullshit seriously. I know his pathetic history so I just laugh my ass off.

That he cannot admit that there is a big difference between talking trash and telling a person to kill themself is pathetic.

The perpetually aggrieved need somebody besides themselves to blame; when the facts aren't on their side, they look to gaslight, demonize, and delegitimize... pretty standard stuff these days. Trump is in that same lane. Sad really.

Balthy,

On the other hand the whole affair represents a shameful downgrade in the status of our Intelligence Community, which stated unequivocally, we have really good reason to believe this, based, don't forget, on classified information that we still haven't seen. The Intelligence chiefs issued a statement to that effect.

To me, former CIA Director Brennan instantly jumping into the political forefront that he had spent his career avoiding is best explained this way: he knows things that would have prevented Trump from being elected if it were made public. It must kill him to watch Trump go after members of the intelligence community who have embarrassed Putin in their service to our country, picking them off one by one. When you read the work histories for Ohr, Strzok, McCabe, and Comey, you can’t help but notice how each of them played major roles in combating the Russian mafia.

If the indictments filed so far are any indication, then Mueller’s final report is going to be incredibly detailed and damaging to Trump’s “empire”. Trump sold his soul for tacky gold!

I know, right!? You ask a lot of great questions. Unless something has changed recently, I believe that modern-day electors are no more informed than the general public and simply award their electoral votes to the candidate selected by the voters of the states they represent.

I hope that people will remember that it was Mitch McConnell that threatened to turn the news of the FBI investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia being released prior to the election into a partisan shitstorm that would split the nation!

McConnell denies it. He wouldn't lie to cover something up, would he?

You obviously missed my entire point in response to your "Shithole that Bush left behind" thing.

Chris Dodd and Barney Frank were the two people who pushed Fannie and Freddie and the commercial banks to accepting mortgage loans from folks with bad credit, which inflated the housing bubble and led to the financial crisis, and both are Dems, but you still lable the bursting of the bubblw as "the shithole Bush left behind.

Do you not see any problem with that? And the fact that Dodd and Frank got their names attached to something designed to prevent another bubble identical to the one they caused themselves has nothing to do with it.

As I said, you can't fix stupid. (with all the super glue and duct tape,it might be fun to try,)

can you show me where you see my defense of anything in the above paragraph...Unless I'm reading different words to you, I don't see it...I do see I missed an 'I' before couldn't, but its omission doesn't change the statement.

If you can, it might explain a lot, if you can't, it explains nothing.

But truth be known, congress played a FAR greater role in that disaster than did any president, and the prime movers behind congress doing what they did were BOTH Dems, specifically Chris Dodd and Barney Frank.

Surely even someone inside the GOP bubble realizes that the Dodd-Frank bill was passed in 2010, long after the Wall Street collapse, and that its primary purpose was to prevent a re-occurrence. When the present Congress set out to repeal the bill, they got pushback from banking and Wall Street interests, who by then had decided that the bill's requirements lent stability to the markets, led to the current continuing bull market, and was far better than more draconian ideas that could have been enacted.

In the end the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act. passed and signed by President Trump merely raised the threshold from $50 billion to $250 billion for institutions deemed by the law to be 'too big to fail', rather than repeal the entire act, 99% of which is still in effect today.

Balthy [202]

Re the "Economic shithole that Bush left America in".

The housing bubble did have the support of presidents of both parties(including Bush) over several yrs, because everybody thought that if house prices never decline, there's no danger in loaning mortgage money to people with bad credit, because if they default, the house can be resold and the mortgage paid off with the sale proceeds.

But truth be known, congress played a FAR greater role in that disaster than did any president, and the prime movers behind congress doing what they did were BOTH Dems, specifically Chris Dodd and Barney Frank.

But it's true, the bubble burst during Bush's administraqtion, so people with only the most superficial understanding of the financial crisis (basically everybody here except for this writer) invariably blame Bush exclusively.

Of course Odumbo transformed America..
He made it a shithole where normal everyday patriotic Americans were attacked and demonized at every turn..

That's bullshit and you know it, but I also think that you and your compadres believe just one glaring part of it - most Americans didn't agree with you. And it's still true today - just look at America's attitudes reflected in polls that indicate majority support for gay rights, planned parenthood, public schools, and immigration reform. Look at Trump's disapproval numbers, which haven't risen since his inauguration.

Obama rescued America from the economic shithole that Bush left it in. No amount of denial or stomping of feet can change that fact.

Kick,

Same as he always does, tries to pit commenters against each other. Is anybody here naïve enough to believe Michale gives two shits about homophobic slurs or any other kind of slurs when he defends Hair Dick-Tater daily and when he's called Paula and I and other posters every name in the book and suggested that a poster kill themselves because he dishes it out daily but can't take it? Pu-leeze. :)

It’s a shame, I think, that he resorts to this wussy behavior. He has chosen to be a contrarian simply for the sake of being a contrarian. He has to sometimes bend over backwards to defend positions that he clearly doesn’t believe in. The intelligence it takes to do that kind of mental gymnastics would suggest that he should be able to openly debate the merits of the subject matter without needing the name calling and other diversion tactics he uses to shift the focus.

I used to enjoy going back and forth with him on subjects, because he often brought up points I had never considered. But I think that was when he could reasonably justify taking the opposing view — Trump has virtually made that impossible to do. The vast majority of Trump supporters that I know cannot answer the most basic policy questions, because they don’t follow politics, they just accept what FoxNews tells them. Michale follows politics, and understands policy matters reasonably well — which is why he has a tough time defending Trump’s actions because they make no sense!

As some who counseled teens for years and who has seen firsthand the damage that words can cause, I will not remain silent when a person is told that they should kill themselves. Your attitude and strength of conviction in your comments don’t make me worry too much that his words pose any threat to you, but there are others that his words would be enough to get them to do something that they have been debating for a while. That he cannot admit that there is a big difference between talking trash and telling a person to kill themself is pathetic.

Pu-leeze. :)

Of course it is — everywhere but over at the FoxNews bubble of reality. I have been spending time on their chat boards, and they swear up and down that his presidency was the worst one in our nation’s history and nothing good came from it!

I too spend time on Fox and get the same vibe. The subtle and not-so-subtle elements of racism in those arguments mix generously with the partisanship, as though they're one and the same. It's sad and divisive.

What's worse, it's based on the assumption that one can eat one's political pie without association to anyone else's reality or fact set. Though there's some attempt to shape reality going on, it's mostly an attempt to deny it.

Somehow, only our side sees the glaring flaw in that rationale. Both Clinton and Obama talked about "evidenced-based policy". Policies arrived at without regard to fact are doomed to failure.

Some Democrats saw that coming in 2008, in the wake of the Bush Administration's relaxation of Wall Street regulation, and gutting of the SEC. They were oblivious then, too.

Now thy want to pretend that that sorry episode of economic malpractice never happened and actually blame the guy who dug the country out of that ditch. It's mind-boggling. Leads me to dismiss the lot of them.

But that's interesting: the writer in [176} is actually giving Obama a lot of credit: he's asserting that Obama not only promulgated policies he didn't like, but that he somehow transformed America.

Of course Odumbo transformed America..

He made it a shithole where normal everyday patriotic Americans were attacked and demonized at every turn..

Reading your links, Michale, I get the feeling that your compadres in Trumpland were none to happy about the McCain and Franklin funerals.

And what makes you think I give a rats ass what they think???

That's nonsense, of course.

Of course you THINK it's nonsense..

Yet one only has to compare the state of the economy NOW as compared to under ODUMBO to know for a fact that it is NOT nonsense..

:D

See how simple that is??

[193] I hope that people will remember that it was Mitch McConnell that threatened to turn the news of the FBI investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia being released prior to the election into a partisan shitstorm that would split the nation!

Hate to say it, but McConnell was right. Even now that we know of dozens of ties between the Trump campaign and the Russians, evidenced in guilty pleas and sworn depositions, the Clown and his posse still deny any associations.

On the other hand the whole affair represents a shameful downgrade in the status of our Intelligence Community, which stated unequivocally, we have really good reason to believe this, based, don't forget, on classified information that we still haven't seen. The Intelligence chiefs issued a statement to that effect. Still didn't move McConnell, or Mitch was just so hungry for power that he didn't care. I don't honestly know which is scarier.

Balthy,

So the writer of this piece doesn't think that America is Great today because Obama. He must think, like Trump does, that America will be great again when every bit of Obama has been removed.

That's nonsense, of course.

Of course it is — everywhere but over at the FoxNews bubble of reality. I have been spending time on their chat boards, and they swear up and down that his presidency was the worst one in our nation’s history and nothing good came from it!

You just have to remember that they believe this because the GOP has switched from debating the merits of a piece of legislation to just going with “all Democratic legislation is evil” to avoid requiring their base to have to think for themselves. Remember, these are the folks that believed Obamacare was horrible, but loved the ACA, after all!

That's a lot. Most presidents have huge impacts on their societies, but to say that a president transformed that society is to put him on par with Lincoln.

Of course there's a giant elephant in the corner, and that's that he was America's first black president. That's pretty transformative.

But there's no legislative fix or executive order that "fixes" that. Erasing Obama's programs doesn't end his legacy, or make his time in office disappear. The clamor for fair policy will persist. If erasing Obama is the GOP's mission, it's on a fool's errand, one that will harm us all.

Just read something in an article that made me think of this:

If the one purpose of the electoral college is to act as a safeguard to prevent the people from electing an unfit/corrupt candidate, then shouldn’t they have been notified of our intelligence community’s investigations into Trump’s ties to Russia prior to their vote?

Wouldn’t it be prudent to give members of the EC the information that they need to fulfill their job, or is the “safeguard” role just said to make them feel special?

Or are they given temporary security clearances to be able to receive intel reports already?

I hope that people will remember that it was Mitch McConnell that threatened to turn the news of the FBI investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia being released prior to the election into a partisan shitstorm that would split the nation!

Reading your links, Michale, I get the feeling that your compadres in Trumpland were none to happy about the McCain and Franklin funerals.

At least the second writer acknowledges: It’s clearly what [McCain wanted], and Trump started the feud.

Yep. If Trump had a bad weekend, it was his own doing. Trump has somehow become convinced that the only allies that he (and by extension, America) needs are on the political right, both at home and internationally.

So the lesson 'you reap what you sow', which ought to be loud and clear by now, has been drowned out in his head by the raucous clamor of his sycophants, and by the rogue regimes that embrace him on the international stage.

Trump's raising of the South African spectre is a clear signal that he realizes that he now belongs to an international Right as well, that he's thrown his lot in with the last real remaining threat to international democracy. Authoritarianism and Nationalism aren't friendly to Democracy, and life in Putin's Russia isn't free.

[169] And, far worse, though still unclear, is the senator’s role in the promulgation of the Steele Dossier. That could, as information evolves, make McCain party to an attempted coup --

He's asserting that Trump could be brought down by gossip to be replaced by - Pence? Some coup. We'd be replacing incompetent maliciousness with competent maliciousness.

[176]Although the left denies it, the America of John McCain was great. But the question is whether the American of John McCain is the America of today. Barack Obama ran against that America (and, of course, against McCain) in 2008, insisting that it needed a major transformation. Obama won. Handily.

So the writer of this piece doesn't think that America is Great today because Obama. He must think, like Trump does, that America will be great again when every bit of Obama has been removed.

That's nonsense, of course.

[187] There's no fixing stupid. Try and focus, learn to process information. I thought I made it crystal clear that couldn't care less about Canadian liberals or any liberals for that matter. I was born Labour, live Labour and will die Labour...I have no intention of explaining what that means to you. To me you are the quintessence of stupidity, things you don't understand are up for instant abuse.

You may well be the only flaw in an otherwise perfect Darwinian theory. Not something one usually puts on a resume, but it's the only unique quality I see in you.

[180] 'Yea... That's what hysterical NeverTrump morons like you said **LAST YEAR**..'

More dross and bollocks from the Merchant of Penis.

I certainly never said anything of the kind, and since Trump's debacle over NAFTA has just come to head in the last week or so, it's unlikely it was an issue last year.

And, oh Wholly Unread and Totally Uniformed One, I don't know where you're getting your "info" from, but here in the real world, Trump has again painted himself into a corner over NAFTA. Signing, or claiming to have a tacit agreement with Mexico, was a huge blunder...One which was instantly recognised here. It put the whole agreement into default abeyance. Canada has no reason to budge, Mexico will have a new president before a pen hits a paper, and Trump won't get his bragging rights in time for the midterms...In fact what he is probably facing is an embarrassing (privately, of course, because he's the great deal maker...who has yet to make a great deal!) walk-back, in which nothing really happens except all three countries get to meet again in six years. All I see really happening is a few concessions on generic drugs, some mention of lumber and some nice ginned-up talking points that appear to look like big bonuses, but are in fact just some more silage for the kind of idiots who Trump feels need to see how well he's doing...People like you, uninformed dullards who spend more time crowing over imagined Trumpian business acumen, than they do actually taking the time to see if it's true. You know you come off as complete fool in a group of people who prefer facts over fiction. No one here believes, much less touts anything they aren't sure of, as you suggest. That's your gambit, and more fool you. Don't assume for a second that I'm not paying close attention to what's going on here, in fact, assume I'm a billion times more aware than you, you sit in some frightful little corner of the US, pontificating on subjects you can't be bothered to look into widely, in a world you don't understand beyond your blinkered and holier-than-thou American upbringing(or up dragging, your case). Take rose-coloured lensed glasses off for a few hours a day, see the world for what is, not what you think it is...otherwise, you might be in for a shock when it all collapses around your ears.

The other possibility is that Neil tends to ignore anything in a comment that disputes his HHPTDS induced worldview...

Any speculation at this point is inadvisable, you can smell the stock market fear in the air. it's getting to that weight in the markets where investors start thinking it's time get while the getting's good, the NAFTA edginess could be final straw.

I know, right!? It smells like pumpkin spice, and every day that goes by is a day that gets us closer to October, and you know what that means. *cue scary music*

Like dominoes, by Christmas NAFTA could be dead, markets could fall, Democrats trounce at the polls and Mueller steps through the rubble and smoke and starts throwing around indictments like confetti...

I can picture that because... well, because. :)

Just as that could happen, so could, NAFTA gets resigned to much rejoicing, the markets chug along smugly, the Dems retake the house but nothing changes and Mueller, depressed that he's now a democrat, shoots himself three times in the head with Don Trump jr's Rhino hunting rifle, and with him goes his investigation.

Not bloody likely since "his investigation" has been scattered to courtrooms across America and shows no signs whatsoever of slowing down.

Happy Labour Day, and you're welcome, my ancestors broke their balls to bring it to us.

Cheers to your ancestors; weren't they striking for like a 60-hour week or something along those lines? If they could see us now, JTC.

Cheers to the common man/woman, regardless of party, we are what makes society great.

I'll drink to that... coffee, though. ;)

So how much are their ratings worth??

So you think that Moody's have made a mistake? Fine, put you money where your mouth is and buy the bonds at a bargain price. When Moody's are proven to be wrong you'll make out like bandit.

I'll bet you won't because, for all your self worship as a financial expert, I'd guess you probably don't know how to buy individual bonds.

MCCAIN’S FUNERAL TURNS INTO RESISTANCE MEETING

Susan Glasser of the New Yorker calls John McCain’s funeral “the biggest resistance meeting yet.” I think Glasser is right, but is this a good thing?

Glasser certainly thinks so. She seems ecstatic about it.

McCain probably would have thought so too. He was a world class grudge holder. McCain was also capable of forgiveness, but that capacity ran in only one direction — left.

It’s rich, though, that Meghan McCain, Barack Obama and others attempted to wax eloquent about the good old days of bipartisanship, civility, and respect, as exemplified by John McCain, while trying to stick it to the President of the United States during a funeral.

I’n not a fan of Donald Trump the man, but I’ll say this for him: When he sticks the knife in, he doesn’t pretend to be the guardian of civility and related virtues.

I don’t blame Meghan McCain for taking shots at President Trump. It’s clearly what her father wanted her to do, and Trump started the feud. I do blame former presidents Obama and Bush for joining in the resistance-fest.

The political class isn’t wrong to bemoan the lack of civility and decorum constantly exhibited by President Trump. But it is wrong to do so while using a funeral to try to score political points. That’s the kind of smugness and hypocrisy that gave rise to Trump’s political success. 7/10
https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2018/09/mccains-funeral-turns-into-resistance-meeting.php

How pathetic...

McCain was a great American and, in the end, the hysterical NeverTrumpers turned him into a caricature.. :(

Sad....

But the commentary makes a VERY good point.. Meghan McCain said (and Odumbo didn't contest it) that the McCain America was always great.. Yet, that's the America that Odumbo ran against in 2008 and back then, Odumbo said that THAT America, McCain's America needed transformation..

Which proves what everyone else already knows..

Odumbo is a master at talking out both sides of his ass...

CRS,

Re Moodys downgrading Ford bonds - I have no interest, personal cause nor desire to dispute their ratings on Ford or anybody, but I can't help but remember that they were the same people who rated the sub-prime mortgage bonds as Triple A, were they not?

So how much are their ratings worth??

Depends...

If the ratings can be used to slam President Trump, they are worth EVERYTHING to hysterical NeverTrump morons..

Liz,

As you see above, Victoria spewed more hate filled and intolerant bullshit filled, I am sure, with more blog terrorism and homophobic slurs..

I won't respond to her and, you watch, she'll just escalate it with more blog terrorism, more homophobic slurs and probably throw in a racist slur for good measure... Thereby proving beyond ANY doubt that she is the perfect candidate for self-euthanasia to remove herself from the gene pool and permanently prevent her from EVER reproducing.....

As I said above, there is 2 ways and 2 ways only this will stop and get Weigantia back to it's former glory..

1. If the blog gods step in and stop it..

2. If Weigantians quit being afraid of going against their Party/Ideological slavery and step up and stop it.. Balthasar proved beyond ANY doubt that *THAT* will work...

But ONLY if it's applied to the SOURCE of the problem...

Balthasar went to Victoria and said, "hay, can you cool it??" and for a couple weeks, it was pretty nice in here. Then the source of all the hate started up again...

Blog gods step in or Weigantians step up...

That's the *ONLY* way it's going to stop..

I'll be here all day if ya want to discuss it more..

Remember the other day when I said I was seeing the "Trump Baby" balloons everywhere; I wasn't kidding. I believe there are now 7 giant-sized ones like the one from the United Kingdom and hundreds of thousands of other sizes.

I spewed my Pumpkin Spice Latte this morning when somebody... without any warning whatsoever... showed me the live cam at Andy Warhol's grave:

Hopefully the Mylar-Man-Baby doesn't get jerked off his little tether or get blown off. ;) *laughs*

Dumbocrats can't even do a boycott right these days!! :D

Matt Fleming, a spokesman for the California Republican Party, also weighed in on the issue.

“It’s disappointing that he’s attacking a company that’s a California institution and widely regarded as a good employer,” he wrote in a tweet.

And THAT is the problem with Dumbocrats.. They think with their Party dicks and nothing else..

Trump Bashing at McCain/Franklin Funerals Truly Juvenile

The Trump bashing at the John McCain and Aretha Franklin funerals was monumentally juvenile.

But still, the bashers clearly lost by making the funerals once again about Trump. As childish as Donald can be, his detractors in politics and the media are far worse. They are more out of control than he is -- truly infantile.

As for McCain, it’s true Trump was way out of line attacking his military service, doubly so since Donald had none to offer of his own. But McCain, whose vaunted maverick qualities often seemed motivated more by narcissism than policy, had more than got his own back on Trump. His last minute vote to save Obamacare couldn’t have been more generated by pique.

And, far worse, though still unclear, is the senator’s role in the promulgation of the Steele Dossier. That could, as information evolves, make McCain party to an attempted coup -- not great for his historical record. At the very least, he appears to have been a useful pawn, his Trump hatred easily exploited.

This juvenile style is not unique to American politics (see Macron and Trudeau), but it’s clearly dominating this Labor Day weekend. With all the attacks on Trump, very little is said of his actual policies. It’s one ad hominem after another, like children throwing mud. You said this. You said that. Rarely, you did that. That even George W. Bush is participating is pathetic and sadly revealing of the emotional development of our ruling class, sometimes absurdly referred to as "elites." 5/8

President Trump is blessed with the most stoopidest, the most moronic and the most immature of enemies..

They make President Trump look presidential by comparison..

OMG and holy F; they are living up to their ticker symbol over at Ford. I followed your link and another link off that link... and another and another and another. I had no idea since I thankfully do not own any.

I do remember about a year ago doing a little research and finding out the consensus of experts was that Ford (F) was a better purchase than Tesla (TSLA). Not sure if that assessment held up because I mercifully decided on neither. Hoo boy, Neil, it's bottoming out now; time to buy it! *shakes head* No way. :)

I'm really, really tired of all this winning. When are the dozy people going to wake up?

I have this theory about a "turning point." Stop me if you've heard it. ;) *wink*

Hey, Neil. Did you hear about Manafort's daughter petitioning a Court to change her last name?

JTC
164

I may be a relative newcomer, but I sussed that on the first day.

No such thing as a "newcomer" in my book... just different posters attempting to have an intelligent conversation about political issues while an effing illiterate moron continually spams the board, hijacks posts from one poster to another, appropriates entire articles and right-wing editorials without attribution, insults the group as a whole using the same stale invective over and over ad nauseam while either being completely clueless or feigning ignorance regarding his near-daily handiwork, all the while bragging about the posters he's run off over the years and promising he'll run off others.

He's harmless enough, his talking points never evolve and they died long ago on the vine. I shouldn't get so wrapped up in all, if I were you.

I'm not "wrapped up," JTC, I'm simply responding in kind. If referring to the group as "hysterical" and claiming everyone has a phony disease he invented, are "party slaves," "bigots," and using movie quotes to spew whatever language he desires is allowed to be normalized and weaponized by him on the blog, then I will respond in kind as I deem necessary. There is nothing he can say about me that bothers me in the least, particularly when 99% of his spew is merely projection of his own admitted pathetic existence.

His type are indestructible, they always have been, and will always be, even a stint in the "Room of Informational Illusions" won't Dent that mindset or Ford that stream.

Are you being sarcastic, JTC? No, they absolutely are not indestructible; why do you think he whines like a little bitch so much? He's never done a thing wrong; everything that ever happened to him in his miserable life can be attributed to somebody else... <---obvious sarcasm... He's got "mommy" issues, etc., believing all the regular BS about women that typical knuckle dragging Neanderthal morons like him generally believe. I could go on, but you get the picture.

I regularly work with recruits, troops, and veterans, and I've literally heard it all... for decades, and his shit is pretty weak tea. He is what I would refer to as the quintessential and forever "aggrieved victim." He's afraid of what he knows nothing about, and he knows so very little that he's continually afraid. I chew up thin-skinned asshats like him regularly and bust their whiny asses out. His morbidly obese anatomy couldn't hang in for a quarter mile of the training I inflict; he would be left panting like a little bitch on the floor. So...

/end rant

LL&P

I plan to, and I already have. :)

Another piece of news, Ford's bonds have just been downgraded to one notch above junk, and the asinine regulations are going to hurt just as the steel tariffs are really beginning to bite. I'm really, really tired of all this winning. When are the dozy people going to wake up?

Great posts; you are so correct. It's a shame that it's the people of our countries that will suffer the most, but the current POTUS has mental issues and is also cornered.

Sad too that it's likely going to get much worse before it gets any better, but Trump too shall pass. :)

[162]Kick...I may be a relative newcomer, but I sussed that on the first day. Michale isn't extraordinary in his style, it's a style driven by content not substance, and certainly not verve. He's harmless enough, his talking points never evolve and they died long ago on the vine. I shouldn't get so wrapped up in all, if I were you. The invective is his way of admitting the well is dry, and kindly change the subject.

His type are indestructible, they always have been, and will always be, even a stint in the "Room of Informational Illusions" won't Dent that mindset or Ford that stream.

We all have our own opinions, Michale has someone else's too. That's fair.

[161] If discretion is the better part of valour for Trump, contrition is near in whole part to impossible.

From what I gather from my well balanced and non-partisan news sources, is this...status quo except for the deftly created supply chain of the auto industry, a pervasive little codicil that seems to have been placed in the original agreement, as much to spread out the industry and labour costs, as it was to prevent someone from extorting the other two later on down the road. Ironically, you'll never guess at who's insistence the labour cost imbalance was central to all those years ago. It's a tricky, elegant way of ensuring the auto industry of all three nations benefits equally proportionate to its work force and overhead. Therefore, there's little or no tinkering with it. The other two issues aren't going to change much at all either...The US doesn't really have a dog in the soft-wood lumber fight, Trump thinks he does, but a 100% tariff on that is meaningless, unless the US New Build housing industry wants to double their costs. lastly, Canada would sooner invade Wisconsin and burn the dairy farmers out, than lower our national dairy standards and decimate one of the only profitable dairy industries in the western world, just because Trump doesn't understand regulatory industry standards, and that other countries take that kind of thing seriously.

So, you have deal that was never to American detriment, as the decades long surplus the US has enjoyed bears out, an industry that pretty much can't be touched, and shouldn't be touched unless the folks in Detroit don't mind a $25 p/hr pay cut to MAGA, the laughable barrel made from dirt cheap Canadian softwood lumber over which Canada will always have the US, and an industry that isn't going to dismantle itself to fix what isn't broken. What you do have is an entire nation giving a prime minister a full-throated mandate to do as he pleases, so long as Trump gets his political comeuppance for assuming people of a sovereign nation have any reason to put up with his preposterous shit. As one pundit put it today, " Justin should ask for a certified cheque for the surplus payment when Trump signs the agreement, he isn't exactly known for his good credit" or his commitment to international agreements, I would add.

You recall how it was stopped before??

Balthasar interceded and asked Crack Whore Welfare Girl to stop with the attacks and such.. ~ Michale

Wrong... Balthasar didn't say anything about Michale's wife or family situation that he keeps informing us about with his repetitive and whining fits of projection. Balthasar said he "loved" me -- obviously proving his superior intelligence over the board troll -- and asked: "sheath your knives, please" (or something similar) and said I didn't need them. Additionally, Balthasar also said he thought Michale should do the same. He posted it the same day Aretha Franklin died; although, I believe it might have been posted on the commentary before. I'll take my trained memory over the empty and clueless BS of Michale any day of the week.

Then Michale responded something like, "I have never instigated anything," and proved for at least the 1000th time on the board that his memory is as short as the "baby carrot of the orange man-baby." <--- Props to you for this instant classic.

And she complied.. And it was relatively peaceful for a few weeks.. ~ Michale

Wrong again. It hasn't even been a few weeks since Balthasar posted it the day Aretha died... as those of us without memory problems can attest.

The following day... repeat: the following day after Balthasar's post, Michale was right back to his regular spamming the blog with multiple entire lengthy articles of right-wing BS and hurling his usual insults toward the entire board in repetitive fashion: "party slaves," sufferers of his fictional invented bullshit syndrome, "hysterical"... same stale shit the following day and I believe referring to posters as "enemy of the people," not patriotic... the same usual shit.

Then he posted toward Balthasar:

Yer so full of shit yer eyes are brown. :D ~ Michale

So I asked Balthasar how that no "personal attacks" thing was working out for him, and off Michale went insulting me and telling me that Balthasar didn't need to hear anything from me.

I have no idea why the resident board troll incorrectly believes there was "relative peace" for a few weeks when he began his spamming and hurling of insults toward the entire board the very next day in his usual fashion. Oh, wait... yes, I do... because, to borrow and invent a new phrase, his memory is as short as the "baby carrot of the orange man-baby." <--- Props, Russ.

Then crack whore started it up again by hurling homophobic slurs and attacking me again..

Wrong on several levels. I don't know why Michale keeps insisting on whining about his personal problems on the board, and... as you know... "cock holster" is not a homophobic slur. It's a military term, and it means "mouth." I have used it during training of troops, and they laugh out loud when I say it. Then I use a few choice other words, and they cannot contain themselves. It breaks the ice. Before training is over, they are calling me Khaleesi, though. ;)

Michale is obviously trying to start shit between me and you, me and Balthasar, me and whoever will believe his asinine bullshit. Pu-leeze. :)

He never stopped with his daily spew and attacks at the entire board using his term "ya'all." His problem is that he's spewed that regular near-daily repetitive shit of his toward everyone on this board so frequently that he mistakenly believes it is acceptable, and then he whines like a little bitch if anyone responds in kind. I know you know that, though.

So lest anyone believes Michale has a problem with hurling personal insults when nothing could be further from the truth, let's be honest. Michale's problem is that he incorrectly believes that his form of near-daily personal insults toward the board should be accepted as perfectly normal... while at the same time he's insisting that someone else... anyone else... giving it back to him shouldn't be allowed.

You want it to stop?? Go to the source... ~ Michale

You did, Russ. Michale is the near-daily effing source. He spams the blog and dishes out the derogatory terms toward the group daily and then whines like a little bitch if anyone responds. He's never once stopped calling anyone/everyone on the blog a "party slave" or "hysterical" or suffering from his fabricated bullshit disease, and he does this so often that in his pathetic empty brain, that is supposed to be considered acceptable name calling that "doesn't count" as such and therefore claims he never instigates anything.

So, as long as he keeps up that regular spew and repertoire of his and feigning ignorance regarding his standard operational daily spamming and trolling bullshit, no one need wonder why somebody/anybody might toss it back in his general direction in their chosen form. :)

Very good point on real friends and the long term importance of allies. Also, your point that:

You might find yourself with a thrashed out ok deal, brokered by people who just want you to go away and stop annoying them with your bellyaching. You might walk away with the appearance of satisfaction, but you definitely walk away with the enemy you created out of thin air to get you to that point.

is likely to apply to the recent "deal" with Mexico. Mexico wanted a deal out of the way by November 1st for internal political reasons. However it isn't a very good deal, and they have two spoilers that the clown in the White House probably doesn't fully understand - one short term, one long term.

In the short term, for all his posturing and bluster, parts of the deal require trilateral agreement, so Canada has to agree.

In the long term the terms regarding auto parts, minimum wages, and other regulations on the auto industry means that the auto industry are going to be fighting to renegotiate the whole thing from day one. Mexico and Canada can sit and wait for either the White House to get so much pressure they have to give in, or a new resident in the White House that the auto industry and everybody else using steel in their products/processes will be screaming for.

Mexico's politicians are too clever to laugh openly at this deal, but they must wonder just how much more they can get away with while the White House is run by an international trade neophyte.

A day late, and surprisingly on time. I was wondering if in death, McCain might get some measure of unity as a fitting epitaph. It might surprise you all to hear, from my perch, I don't see a great deal that separates the two political ideologies that seethe at one-another from the dividing aisle. In fact, both the left and the right in the US are equally exasperated by the extremes in their own party's to notice the headaches of the other. I would imagine that there's more moderates between the two sides that can actually settle their differences and become agents of change. Of course, all effort come to naught if legislators keep toeing party lines in spite of their better judgement. Trump said something I thought summed his character up brilliantly...In regards to Canada, via his twitter-twatter, "We shouldn't have to buy our friends..." No, but when your friends are told they're enemies, and not the people who have thrown their lives into the grinder for your cause, they bristle at the temerity. Much like your other friends, who after stunning attack on 9/11 flew to your side and immediately, for the first time, enacted a treaty to stick by their ally in time of national shock. All the bombast and invented incredulity in the world can't blur international fact that the true nature of a good deal is that which is beneficial to both sides to their individual satisfaction. Internecine party bickering at this stage of the game is undermining all other efforts on a larger stage.
I get that's it's Trump's style to keep people off balance while he cuts a swath through the chaos to arrive at his 'good deal', but it's a ruinous venture on a global scale. You might find yourself with a thrashed out ok deal, brokered by people who just want you to go away and stop annoying them with your bellyaching. You might walk away with the appearance of satisfaction, but you definitely walk away with the enemy you created out of thin air to get you to that point. Picking your battles, even if you know you're going to win them all, is still good advice. Certainly, picking a fight with Canada, one that no one can justify with any rationale, isn't going do anything but sow distrust, the US will still carry a surplus with Canada, as it always has...only it will have cost the price of a best friend. Canada is happy to shrug all this betrayal off, resource economies are the strongest kind, five years from now Canada will adjust the price of it's raw material, and leave it there.

However, all this madness is borne of the chaos at home...if congress could focus on it's job of being an equal third of government, there wouldn't be this loose bull in china shop, uniting the world in contempt for irresponsible international behaviour. Isolationism in a global age is as stupid as it sounds, and not solid foreign policy, in the same way America isn't Trump INC...and if history is anything to go by, massive nation states can only file for bankruptcy one way...Ask the Germans how their last one, the one of 1939, worked out for them.

For my part, I'll start easing up on the odd person and overlook the less niggle-some utterances. Flogging dead horses and patting burning dogs is more a hobby than a raison d'etre, anyway.

In case you haven't realized it yet because it's obvious you are painfully slow to catch on to anything and obviously not cognizant of what's going on here: It is you who are supplying all the "disgusting" attacks.

I'm simply the one pointing out that your projection of your miserable life is obvious. Keep hurling the "disgusting" names, and I'll keep pointing out how it applies to you and yours. It's not at all complicated. If you think the "vile" attacks on yourself and your family are disgusting, then check your mirror for the moron who's hurling the insults.

It's your handiwork, rube. :)

But it's interesting..

You have made it clear that YOU believe that disgusting and perverse attacks on family members is perfectly appropriate and a proper part of a political debate blog..

And, since you have mentioned Devon on more than one occasion, according to Crack Whore Victoria's rules, that means it's perfectly acceptable to attack Devon in the most vile and disgusting ways imaginable..

But, you need not worry... *I* am not a scumbag low life like crack whore Victoria and would never stoop to blog terrorism like that..

But, it's interesting to know that you are completely accepting of such tactics...

That's just sad....

Crack Whore Welfare Girl

This is a political forum. Can you please limit the posts about your wife and family life to one (1) per day? Asking for a friend.

But the simple fact is, you used a gay slur..

I said you were a "Trump cock holster" because you suck the carrot of the orange man-baby every chance you get. Please continue to bring it up frequently and repeat it ad nauseam; that's how everyone here will know that its usage really upsets your tender disposition and politically correct sensibilities.

Cock Holster is a recognized and well defined gay slur..

You are a recognized and well-defined "Trump cock holster" who doesn't seem to grasp the fact that typing something over and over does not magically make it a fact; you have that in common with Your Orange Man-Baby. As I have said many times, unless you prefer appearing like an inveterate halfwit, you might want to crack a book and educate yourself. Here, let me help you:

"Cock holster" is a term that is used frequently in the military, particularly used most liberally during boot camp and other training and has been for decades. If an uneducated poser like yourself didn't hear it multiple times in your very limited time in the military, then somebody obviously didn't do their job properly.

cock holster

English

Alternative forms
cock-holster

Noun
cock holster (plural cock holsters)

Anything that serves as a receptacle for a man's penis during sex.

(by extension) Mouth

quotations:

2009, Shea White & ?Ron White, The History of My Vagina and Other Sordid Tales:
I really did feel sorry for the guy because all he wanted to do was hang out, get drunk and play some golf, but my sister couldn't quit flappin' her cock holster for ONE weekend.

2015, Malcolm Brooks, Painted Horses:
His name is Malloy but you ladies can call him the worst goddamn day of the rest of your short and pathetic life, from now on the first word out of your cock holster will be sir, the last word will be sir, and so forth.

2016, Dev Jarrett, Little Sister, page 72:
Till then, keep your fuckin' cock holster shut.

(derogatory) A despised person, especially one that is weak or effeminate.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cock_holster

And it's documented that you used it..

So, quit lying about it...

Are you deaf, dumb, and blind? I admitted it. I called you a "Trump cock holster." There is no reason to lie about the fact that you are a "Trump cock holster." You should really do something about your obvious reading comprehension problem. Yourg glaring ignorance regarding word meanings is only matched by your inability to comprehend the written word.

Please enjoy posting your links. I don't click on any of them, but knock yourself out in between your frantic sucking of Comrade Trump's baby carrot.

And for gods sake, take a bath and lose some weight.

For a guy who doesn't believe in any god, you sure talk about them a lot, but I digress. You really should take better care of yourself... that picture you posted where you've really let yourself go, multiple chins and girth and flab bursting out all over, and your self-loathing of your body habitus is again duly noted.

Yer really stinking up the place...

Enough already; we all get it. You're a self-admitted whore and morbidly obese self-hating uneducated goober living in the stench of the trailer swamps in Shithole who desperately needs to win at something... anything. :)

Russ,

I’m so sorry that I don’t respond daily to every single comment on here so I would have the moral authority to have an opinion that you disagree with!

It's very convenient for you how variable your availability is, eh??

What a pussy cop-out..

You have no idea of what I am equipped to handle, snowflake.

You have made that very clear...

I will remind you that when you were attacking and mocking Paula for taking anti-depressants, that I asked you to stop that as well.

yes.. You always defend your fellow Democrats..

But did you stand up to Crack Whore when she was attacking my wife and children?? Did you stand up to Crack Whore when she was hurling homophobic slurs??

No you did not..

That's because you are pussy whipped by Party slavery..

THANK YOU for proving my point..

I am sorry that my telling you that I disapprove of you encouraging someone to end their life because they insulted members of your family causes you to think that I am better than you. That you find decency that offensive to your ego is sad.

Didn't you say that your comments this morning were the LAST comment to me???

What a lying pile of shit you are...

For the record.. It is my fervent wish that Crack Whore Victoria removes herself from the gene pool as she has proven beyond ANY doubt that she is a useless pathetic human being who has no business drawing another breath..

NOW will you shut up and stop commenting to me as you promised???

I doubt it.... Like Crack Whore, you are simply full of shit..

Further, I am also constrained to point out, Russ, that there has been MANY instances where commenters here have encouraged generic & specific Republicans to kill themselves...

I’m so sorry that I don’t respond daily to every single comment on here so I would have the moral authority to have an opinion that you disagree with! Do you need a hug?

How dare I take offense at you telling someone directly that they should kill themselves when I intentionally failed to read the alleged comments of others wishing unspecified people (who aren’t on this site) to kill themselves!?!

You really are more like Trump than I thought possible! You insult everyone who disagrees with you as not having opinions and thoughts that are our own, claiming instead that we are only commenting because we suffer from “Party slavery”.

If I had given that encouragement to President Trump or Rush Limbaugh, I am certain you would give me a medal...

Really? And when have I ever done anything like that on here? Your thin skin seems to cause your lies to be even more obvious than normal when it is irritated. Benadryl might help.

It’s kinda like when you claimed I was attacking your grandkid when I said that I hoped karma doesn’t put your grandchild through the suffering that you said you fully supported our government putting asylum-seeking children through — you cannot handle when your vitriol is pointed out to you.

So, please.. Can the holier than thou bullshit..

You simply are not equipped to pull it off...

You have no idea of what I am equipped to handle, snowflake.

I will remind you that when you were attacking and mocking Paula for taking anti-depressants, that I asked you to stop that as well. Mocking someone who is suffering from an illness was quite OK with you, but I find it repulsive and cowardly. It wreaks of the actions of a weak-minded little man who can’t handle having a woman put him in his place.

I am sorry that my telling you that I disapprove of you encouraging someone to end their life because they insulted members of your family causes you to think that I am better than you. That you find decency that offensive to your ego is sad.

If you are ever interested in being the “hag” of a West coast “fag”, just know the position is yours if you want it and I’d be honored!

I'm already yours, baby! :)

But, Russ, please watch your language, there is an admitted whore and Trump cock holster on the board who will be along directly to whine incessantly LALB about your usage of a "slur" because it does so upset his tender sensibilities. ;)

We all have the power to do our part to make this blog a better place.

Yes, we do...

Yet one or two people are overwhelmed by 2 or 3 vile and disgusting souls and the indifference of everyone else..

It may take some here more time, but you and I can start right now and hope that it wears off on others here.

We have been down that road and it lead to family attacks and homophobic slurs..

Since it's obvious that you and I are the only ones interested in making a sincere effort to clean this place off, with one or two others willing to half-heartedly put in their 2 cents....

Well, that's just not enough to start a cleansing movement...

It's going to take either more people really and sincerely wanting the shit to stop... or an effort by the blog gods to stop the shit..

That's the ONLY way this place gets back to it's former glory..

[144]Leaving in a huff of self-righteous indignation, never again to darken this door, would be a step worth taking. You could immerse yourself in the pursuit self-improvement and quiet contemplation. You might be a happier person, we would benefit likewise.

As for the Ontario Liberals and their woes, I'm as indifferent to their plight as I was to the federal conservatives. They found themselves on the same slippery slope after Trudeau knocked seven shades of shit out of Harper and his band of kleptocrats. Their evisceration at the hands of Trudeau was so thorough, the entire caucus was washed out of Ottawa on wave of tears. Harper now enjoys an exciting career as a tie salesman at kiosk tucked away at Calgary International Airport. He may yet make senior clerk.

I vote NDP when I get a chance, even they aren't left enough for my taste...Coming from generations of trade unionists, the last and most notably being the head of the Coal Miners union of the UK, in the 70-80's. Arthur was the man that took Britain to the edge of civil war in the early eighties, and ultimately saw Maggie Thatcher off the Pit Head and into history's prisoners dock. So you can imagine how I feel about the diluted liberal visionaries on this side of the wet. You consider Bernie a step too far, in my reality he's a dilettante any true liberal would stride over to put the boots to the clowns of the right.

I hope this clears up any misunderstanding you created for yourself while in the boundless pursuit of whatever it is you drone on about.

Michale,

We all have the power to do our part to make this blog a better place.

We have been shown how to do that by the legacies left to us by Senator McCain and Aretha Franklin.

We don't have to wait for anyone else to act first or ever, we just have to act ourselves and ignore all of the nonsense whenever it may appear. This is how we can change the nature of this blog.

I will continue to do my part, whenever my increasingly non-existent spare time allows.

The great people who were remembered this past week have left us all a gift and, to paraphrase Joe Biden, their impacts upon us are not over!

And it's not just CW's blog that suffers..

Funerals for two of America's great people was turned into nothing but a hysterical Anti-Trump rally that disgusted 10s of millions of Americans...

The entire American way of life is being attacked by hysterical America Haters who know nothing but hatred and intolerance....

While it would be nice if we could stop the hate and intolerance in our little corner of existence....

When we have commenters who hurl homophobic slurs and attack innocent women and children and other commenters who think such disgusting actions are appropriate???

Well, what hope does this place have??

Unfortunately, Chris's blog is the one that suffers, not that he minds, mind you … ???

Well, I can't speak for CW, but I can assure you that *I* care a lot..

But what can I do??

I am not going to just let such vile and disgusting attacks on my wife and children go unanswered....

I will ALWAYS comment when racist or homophobic slurs are hurled in the comments section..

So, you tell me..

Give me a solution that DOESN'T include me bending over and taking it up the shorts and tolerating my wife and children being disgustingly attacked and I will be HAPPY to consider it...

I have one word for you. And that word is boring.

Although, you seem to have captivated many of the 'new' regulars here, so … more power to you.

[129-130] Not all of us know everything, like you, Michale.

In other myths, fables and right-wing assumptions, I keep an even beadier eye on my own politics and that of the UK and Europe(those are places where other people live, you might overlook them as you gaze lovingly towards the Motherland).

Constitutional monarchies, like your Constitutional republic, that have democracy at the root of their power, rely on their electorate to keep abreast of national concerns, lest they fall prey to the machinations of a self-serving political mountebank.
In my case, it seemed prudent to keep an eye on US politics, considering their effect on my country. Naturally, I was right to do so...but you didn't need a crystal ball to see a Trump circus pulling into town. A quick google here, a slight Wiki there(not Wikileaks, I'm trying not to confuse you with fact) and a school child(were he or she not in chains) could have discovered Trump's chaotic past and known old white men rarely change their ways.
That's right, what you amusingly refer to as unorthodox, clearer, more widely informed people would call unqualified. Again, my concerns were as justified as my hopes were of ash.
I could care less about that centrist rabble at the heart of the Canadian political spectrum, your failure to grasp the obvious in Canadian politics is probably quite widespread among your ilk, shared delusion has that effect on the oblivious.
In Canada(that's the bigger country, with ten times your natural resources, on tenth of your population and 1% of your crime rate, above you) the Grits(your slightly more honest, but equally self-serving GOP) and the Liberals(more progressive, but ultimately more centered than your Democrats) are almost indistinguishable from one another. Their difference is essentially down to one appeals more to the east of the country, the other, the west.

To my mind, Wynne made that most fatal of all mistakes, someone who serves at our pleasure, can make...not knowing when she had overstayed her welcome. We don't do all that messing around in elections you lot do, if you do a good job, keep your hand out of the cookie jar, you stay and put your nose down...we don't have an Neolithic dysfunctional fealty to the party of our fathers here, as you do there. We don't take attendance in our political parties, and we don't have the attendant tribalism baked into the system as a result. It's an asinine system in the US, doomed to these forever vexing cycles of a step forward and two steps back because the definition of democracy got lost and found, redefined and skewed to the point where it barely resembles its definition in any dictionary you might have as door stop around the house.

No no, our version of democracy matured with us, not in spite of our best efforts to mold it into what we thought would sound better. We don't piss around with electoral college's, redistricting to coral blocks of like minded voters into race or religious voting packs nor do we spend our lives in one election cycle after another, forever at each other's throats. Here, where civilisation spends most of its time when not cutting the lawn, we have one vote per head and the person with the most, wins(we like to call it democracy, it's fun, you should try it sometime.)

And this is where it gets fun, and I always go towards the fun...we have a third party, a nifty idea we adopted at the end of the Victorian age when workers decided the two existing parties were cut from the same cloth, and wanted nothing to do with either. That's how we avoid the stupidity of tribalism, we looked to democracy itself and decided more choice better satisfied our definition of the word.

"you can't get anything done without a clear majority" I hear you stomp out in your stall, that's why partisanship doesn't exist here, legislators have to compromise, like adults do everyday, to get results. And results we get, one only needs to look at were the two countries are, socially.

Our leader my be young, but he has decades of political life under his belt. He's not really paying attention to Trump, he knows Trump plays to a small fringe of American society and he can put Trump out of business long before he does any real damage, to you or us. Trump lives and dies with his precious economy. Hanging up a trillion bucks and a huge chunk of the American economy at our borders won't bother us too much, we are diverse and resource based...but it'll tank you lot and kill Trump.

So If I were you(a lot smarter, more politically savvy you, to be sure) I would worry more about that.

Said by your new buddy Glenn Greenwald, Michale.

Although I would probably dispute the term "buddy", as I am sure Greenwald would :D there is NOTHING "new" about my thoughts on GG..

As CW can attest to, my opinion of GG has NEVER changed in the 12+ years I have been posting here in Weigantia..

I'm sure Trump is financially linked to Russian organized crime, and Russian banks, in all kinds of dirty ways that involve money laundering and tax evasion. That stuff I think is 100 percent real and genuinely urgent and pressing.

Yea... Just as YOU are "sure"....

"But real cops have to follow this little thing called 'evidence'...."

There’s this new axis of power, this kind of emerging alliance between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates and Israel and Russia and Trump, and the alt-right movement generally. There are a lot of stories that I find really interesting about Emiratis and Saudis buying apartments in Trump buildings for way above the market price. I'm sure Trump is financially linked to Russian organized crime, and Russian banks, in all kinds of dirty ways that involve money laundering and tax evasion. That stuff I think is 100 percent real and genuinely urgent and pressing.

Encouraging someone to kill themself because they have proven that they can out troll you when you push them to is not acceptable.
It’s a puss thing to do!

Further, I am also constrained to point out, Russ, that there has been MANY instances where commenters here have encouraged generic & specific Republicans to kill themselves...

So, once again, I have proven that your "moral outrage" at my encouraging Crack Whore to do the world a favor and take her fat ass out of the gene pool, is solely and completely based on your Party Slavery...

If I had given that encouragement to President Trump or Rush Limbaugh, I am certain you would give me a medal...

So, please.. Can the holier than thou bullshit..

You simply are not equipped to pull it off...

Ya'all always seem to have a problem with *MY* responses, but rarely, if ever, address the instigator..

To be fair to JL, this is not entirely accurate..

There was a time when Crack Whore Welfare Girl Victoria tried to extort me into silence by using opposition research she paid for...

Joshua spoke up against that... It didn't reign in the crack whore, as she escalated her disgusting attacks..

But it was unfair of me to characterize JL as never having addressed the instigator..

My sincere apologies for the error, JL...

Suspected MS-13 member broke into sleeping girl’s bedroom, raped her: cops

A purported member of the MS-13 gang broke into the bedroom of a sleeping 11-year-old Brooklyn girl and raped her in her bed, cops said Saturday as the suspect was taken into custody.

The horrific crime happened at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, officials said.

The suspect — identified by police sources as El Salvadoran immigrant Julio Cesar Ayala, 18, who lives nearby — had allegedly climbed onto the roof of the girl’s apartment building.

Maybe you should worry less about our country and more about yours Canuck, eh???

Ontario’s Liberals were decimated—and lost party status. What happened?

The election was a mess of the Ontario Liberals’ own making. Here’s what happens next—and why a huge loss might actually be a good thing for the party

...meanwhile, back at the facts. I'm astonished I never heard back from the various "US.GOV's" I fired lawyerly letters off to inquiring about these kids. I took the tack that leapt to mind when the DHS quietly announced the loss of 1500 kids, that surely they kept records of the vetted families they punted these poor buggers to?

Soon thereafter, not looking like 'The Cheshire Cat' at all, the shit hit the fan for the Trump department in charge of lies, bullshit and general deceptions. A couple of days passed and the kids, being too young to be frog-marched to the outskirts of town, much less be made to dig their own mass-grave to disappear helpfully, reappeared alive and well in cages.

Sure, ok...yeah it's hyperbolic, but I don't think this fresh low for the rabble in the Whiter-than White House deserve much quarter on this. These twats separated kids from their parents, were found out, lied about losing them, then found them in the cages they hurled them into, apparently with every intention of permanently tearing them from their parents. And why? well that turned out to be another fresh abhorrence...to make political hay for the fucking idiot's wall!

By my estimation, that act of utter cruelty and barbarism is only gas chamber away from Nazi-like intention. The Trump gang knew damn well it was un-ethical and vile, in the same way the Nazi's knew their actions were...both regimes scurried to hide their crime when light of it was known and they knew the gig was up.

It's state generated cowardice to act reprehensibly and then drag more of its employees into the mess to cover it up, then lie to a society they knew would never reconcile themselves to evil perpetrated in their name.

So, the god-fearing, mulligan dispensing right-wing have that to look forward to when, in his divine query, their maker asks them "so kids, what compassion and love did we get up to, in the name of good will to all man, while you were out?...hmm)

Does the Lord recognise 'Mulligans' as a form of currency?

Just because we like you doesn't mean we have the time or energy to participate on your behalf in a flame war that is at least 50% of your own making.

And the girl who was raped, it's 50% her own fault because she was wearing a short skirt and low cut top, right??

If you don't want to participate in the flame war, then fine.. Stay out of it..

But Russ DIDN'T stay out of it, did he.. He came down on the side of Crack Whore Victoria.. He came down on the side of the person who attacked my wife and children in disgusting and vile ways...

Ya'all always seem to have a problem with *MY* responses, but rarely, if ever, address the instigator..

This being FACT, the ONLY logical conclusion is your attitude is borne SOLELY of Party slavery and not have anything to do with decency or acceptability..

I would love for ya'all to prove me wrong..

But, cest le vie...

Kick wrote: Vice President Biden is hands down and quite easily the most qualified person on the planet to hold the office. Here's hoping he runs. :)

Those of us who have known Joe Biden for decades and have closely followed his senate career, including his moving farewell address to his favourite chamber before being sworn in as vice president, know that what you wrote is true and has been true for a very long time.

But, he received less than one percent of the vote in the 2008 Iowa caucuses. On a personal point of privilege, he withdrew from the race. Some people don't have to be hit over the head with a two-by-four, though that vote must have hurt.

His 1988 run was, in his opinion in retrospect, too soon. Of course his withdrawal from that race saved his life.

He wanted to run in 2004 but he was too involved in fixing the mess in Iraq to be involved with a presidential campaign. Should Kerry have won that race, it is well known that he was going to ask Biden to be Secretary of State. But, assuming Democrats would control the Senate, Biden would rather be chairman of the Foreign Relations committee!

As for Biden running again, I think y'all have missed your chance. And, that, my friend, is a definition of sad. I hope I'm wrong and that he will run again but, I think there is going to have to be a lot of public support for him before he makes that decision again.
