On the one hand, Vegas is near LA, and has lots of talented folks already doing shows on the strip. That show would be a cake walk to produce, and feature stars and musical acts, both old and new, in ample supply. On the other hand, a Maria telethon could headline the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Bruno Mars, Marc Anthony, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, <i>just to start</i>. The music would be unquestionably better, and draw an international spanish-speaking audience in the tens millions. On the other hand, production costs would double, and what venue would you use? Miami (still recovering from Irma)? New York (would that be racist)? And what if another disaster occurs while we're setting all that up? Hmmm.
