We all should have voted for Limberbutt McCubbins!

Sample commentary:

Tweet from Neil deGrasse Tyson:

"Evidence that humans are smarter than cats: We don't chase Laser dots on the carpet. We aren't afraid of vacuum cleaners."

Response:

"Evidence that cats are smarter than humans: We didn't elect Donald Trump president. I don't even need a second point."

Heh.

I seriously doubt that many Dems will change their minds one way or another on impeachment based on whether Trump supported any one bill or not. Call me an optimist, I guess...

Your last sentence was pretty classic, by the way!

John M -

"Wouldn't it be ironic if the Democrats in the House end up saving Trump from being impeached by the Tea Party conservative base (over DACA, immigration, and Russia) because Democrats can make better deals with Trump than Republicans can?"

I'm of a similar mind about this, but in two variants.

The first is that of a genuine, workable Trump-Dem alliance that squeezes out the Tea Party and enacts some important legislation. I think this rather unlikely, expect on some narrow fronts such as DACA.

The second is that a Trump-Dem alliance is a craven political anti-impeachment/25th amendment tactic intended to corral a few vulnerable/gullible Dems into the President's camp should too many Republicans peel away from the President.

Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer would be working the first option, Trump lawyers and handlers would be more realistically working the second. Nobody knows what Trump is thinking at given moment, including Trump himself.

"It's also evidence that his own base doesn't really trust Trump."

That's true when you have the likes of Ann Coulter tweeting: "At this point, who DOESN'T want Trump impeached?"

Wouldn't it be ironic if the Democrats in the House end up saving Trump from being impeached by the Tea Party conservative base (over DACA, immigration, and Russia) because Democrats can make better deals with Trump than Republicans can? Or also because of the alternative of trying to make deals with Pence?

So, did Trump do a "dine and dash" with regards to a DACA agreement with Shumer and Pelosi? Are there any tapes from the meetings?

This morning's Trump Tweets are a disorienting and contradictory stream of conscience on the subject. Luv the dream, hate the dreamer, the new fence is the spruced up old fence.

Trump's Base certainly believed a DACA deal had been reached - their resulting firestorm of ELECTRONIC RAGE is ample evidence of that. It's also evidence that his own base doesn't really trust Trump.

I have to admit that I thought that Alt-Orange was Putin's puppet, but now it looks a lot like he's actually Pelosi's bitch. I certainly hope that Nancy is on board with Bernie.

I'm with Bernie. The Republicans may be able to counter him with a quick and dirty* 7 page white paper that says next to nothing, but maybe not even that. Fallback is the tried and true obstruction unto death.

* No, this is not a reference to the Ted Cruz "Like"
