Regarding your speech ratings, I'd have to agree, although I missed Biden's speech. The night that Hillary spoke, I actually turned to my brother and said "That's the best speech she ever gave.", so you have me firmly in your camp for that. And I couldn't agree with you more about the "10 minutes too much" observation about many of the speeches.

I heard that a fellow named Khan spoke too. Did he mention the Federation at all? And then, I guess Trump broke the Prime Directive, or something. I'm still catching up..

I should have said that NYT upshot lists PROBABILITIES of states going D or R in the Presidential voting....from multiple sources. From these data you can calculate or simulate probabilities of a candidate meeting or exceeding 270 electoral votes. That's ultimately what you want in a forecast.

National voting percentages are reasonably well correlated with Presidential victory, but state polls get to the heart of electoral votes. Little has been said about state by state bounces....but NYT upshot lists state polls, and it will be VERY interesting to see how these break in the next few days.

Clinton gave one of her better speeches, but she is not a gifted orator. I'd rate her a 5 or 6 slot, viewed on a tablet mind you...she might have been seemed more impressive live, with all the background noise and an amplified delivery. Grateful Dead Effect.

My rule of thumb: don't believe any polls until 4 or 5 days after an event. Meaning that the polls coming out now show the Dem convention bounce. But the polls showing Trump's Khan problem won't be out until about Thursday. Those will be interesting indeed.

Hillary's convention bounce is real -- as real as any other convention bounce. It could fade. But then again, it could be the start of a real trend. Only time will tell...

Um, what graphs are you looking at? RCP shows Trump leading for precisely 4 days in July (I'll even toss in the one day they were tied, how's that?). So 5 days is what I see for Trump leading. That was his convention bounce which disappeared as quickly as the morning dew.

Also, in other posts, you supposedly say you're non-partisan, but it's incredible the disrespect for the military you'll tolerate from a Republican. Just think to yourself: if a Dem said that, how would I feel? Go on, give it a try. I dare you.
