Good point, but not just one arbitrator, not all of them get treated the same, and the GOP side of the analysis looks roughly the same. Plenty of press, plenty of closets and skeletons.

My conclusion is: wait until the field settles.

Consider two things..

1.. It's the press that's the ultimate arbiter as to what scandal gets airplay and which scandal does not..

2.. Hillary's treatment of the press has been abysmal...

But, to date, we are talking HUNDREDS of documents..

Ultimately, Clinton had broad, some might even say near dictatorial legal authority to classify/declassify material generated within State. Including material generated by her predecessors. She also seems to have the legal authority to delegate declassification to supervisory staff. Arrrggh, Apostolic powers too!!!!!

If a mislabeled declassified document goes out with a classified stamp, what is the harm in that? Does it encourage the recipient to "leak" the document formerly known as classified? Sloppy maybe, but illegal? Tough to go to court with this case and win. Possibly a reason not to vote for somebody, but maybe not in the aggregate. The ballot box ultimately decides.

That's why all this security classification hyperventilation strikes me as Swift Boat + Lawyer Ball, to which Clintons seem highly resistant...in large part because they always seem to thoroughly research the ground rules of any park they play in. FDR did this sort of thing too. It lets you get things done if you don't mind a bit of heat and regular basting.

There is a political price to be paid for this particular Clintonism, but there are political risks in attacking them in this way too. Political ballet with a courtroom motif.

Each tribe must build their own platform using local materals. Candidates may only address TV audience (air time) from ther own platforms, while holding the tribal Speaking Spear, unless the can successfully comandeer the plaform of another tribe to gain additional air time.

Candidates are eliminated by several mechanisms:

Removal by the GOP Elder Council for violating sacred taboos

Failure to fulfill tribal challenges

Audience voting

Withdrawal due to insect bites, injuries, malnutrition - voluntary or mandated by supervisory medical staff. Expect high initial attrition, vanity candidates and the physically/mentally/spiritually infirm will not last.

Proposed format provides great TV drama and can accommodate a full platoon of candidates. Candidates must demonstrate genuine real world survival skills. Teddy Roosevelt would have been awesome at this! Trump talks a good game......Christie could be formidable in a cool, flat setting.

Proposed format gives Party Leadership something useful to do (scripting the action).

The reason that drugs are considered a criminal issue is not the ingesting of drugs themselves..

It's the associative actions that go along with the taking of the drugs..

If there wasn't such a HUGE and DEFINITIVE link between drug usage and criminality, I would wager that you would have your mental/public health issue..
