People are feeling much better about Obama's handling of the economy, too, where he's now above water:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/21/americans-economy-obama_n_7107934.html

Yes.. I am sure the people at HuffPo ARE feeling better about Obama.. :D

But, ask an "every day" American, ask Joe and Jane SixPack if they like the way things are..

I am sure you can guess what their answer will be...

Come on... Ya gotta admit it..

Obama is NO WHERE near the President we thought he would be...

Michale -

As for polls, day-to-day, they bounce around (even the poll-of-polls on RCP). He's actually up today (and his disapproval's down). But since January, pretty flat average. That's why I do the whole monthly thing with the polls. Smooths out the tics in the trendlines...

The kid was being lied to by his school. He knew differently, because his mom used medical marijuana for her Crohn's Disease. He stood up and said so (they both used to live in Colorado, where this is legal). So, yeah, he spoke truth to power, and that's bravery in my book.

I remember another little kid who also spoke truth to power in a YouTube video..

I also remember how that little kid was treated around here...

Do you recall??

What numbers have you been looking at? Obama's job approval went up in Jan. and have largely held steady since...

I am looking at RCP poll of polls.. Steady with a slight upward tic of the disapproval rating..

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/10/17/157477/-List-of-Reagan-administration-convictions#

Michale, meet facts. Facts, this is Michale. I just know you two will hit it off!

You quote DailyKos and call them facts?? :D

And, just because the other guys did it, doesn't make it right for Obama, eh??

If the Reagan Administration jumped off a cliff......??? :D

The point is that, according to Obama, his administration was going to be the most "transparent" and "ethical" administration in history..

Can you honestly say that THAT has been factually accurate??

I don't think you can...

Seen the latest Hillary poll numbers against all the GOP crowd? She polls at 55-60% The GOPers poll between 36-41%

I am not asking about polls..

I am asking ya'all if Hillary Clinton is the best that Democrats can offer??

Except, you know, when you do. See comment [8] if you've forgotten typing it...

Ya lost me... What does me pointing out that JFC hates so much have to do with the inability of the Left to prove that Republicans "hate" gays and "hate" immigrants??

Oh, now you're just makin' stuff up. Four Republicans and four Dems in the Senate got together and hammered out a bill. It got like 68 or 69 votes in the Senate. That's bipartisan, and how you strike a deal. The House refused to do anything. So what, exactly, could the Dems have done? The House Republicans couldn't even agree AMONG THEMSELVES about an immigration bill!

The House DID do something..

They listened to the American People and the refused to process legislation that they thought was bad for the country...

THAT is their jobs...

When you say "The House refused to do anything" what you are really saying is that "The House refused to bow to Emperor Palpatine's will"...

Obamacare is actually polling a lot better these days, too, as more people see the reality instead of all the scare stories they were fed by Republicans. In a recent Bloomberg poll, 51 percent agreed that: "It may need small modifications, but we should see how it works," and a further 12 percent said: "It should be left alone." Only 35 percent said: "It should be repealed." That means 63 percent of Americans think Obamacare should go forward, and should be tweaked when necessary to make it better. Public opinion on Obamacare keeps going up as time goes by.

TrainWreckCare polls MAY be going up..

But, as I pointed out by what California's doing, it's all based on lies...

THAT was the point of the comment..

Obama and his administration are CONTINUING the lying about TrainWreckCare...

If lies must be told about it, how good can it really be??

Michale [3] -

What numbers have you been looking at? Obama's job approval went up in Jan. and have largely held steady since...

Michale, meet facts. Facts, this is Michale. I just know you two will hit it off!

:-)

Pastafarian Dan [6] -

Oh, you're preaching to the choir on that one! Brilliant! Start a "kill the DEA" campaign among Republicans!

Heh.

Michale [9] -

We had a wetter rainy season than last year, but it wasn't enough to catch us back up. So restrictions are going into effect. Jerry Brown is doing it right, though, as each district gets targets to reduce based on how much water they've already saved. So our (liberal area) district is only getting an 8% reduction target. But some areas down south (Beverly Hills, other mega-wealthy areas) are getting hit with 35% reduction targets (because they're still overwatering their lawns, etc.).

So things could be worse, but we're still waiting for a good wet winter, haven't had one in three or four years now.

TheStig [11] -

Whenever I think of Scooby Doo, I think of Rob Lowe on SNL... maybe someone will accuse Hillary of "Meddling" sooner or later... heh...

As for HC' s faulty contraction chip, the Clinton IT team is working the problem.

OK, now that was funny... even without CBG's voice!

TheStig [12] -

I just like typing "paean" since it's the only word I know with "aea" in it (there are probably other Greek-derived words like it though)...

Michale [15] -

Switzerland actually has a mandatory firearms law like this. But that gun and its ammo can ONLY be used for defense of the country (not hunting or anything, you've got to have separate guns for that). This actually came up during the Obamacare debate because one of the New England states had such a law for their militia in the earliest days of the USA. It was used as justification that government mandate laws (forcing you to buy something) were indeed constitutional, in fact.

LizM [23] -

Nice "Me And Bobby McGee" quote!

I'm impressed you knew that source. Well done!

More Obamacare good news

CA Obamacare Exchange Claimed 30,000 Enrollees First Month...
...True Number Was 4,000
http://dailysignal.com/2015/04/20/incompetence-mismanagement-plague-californias-obamacare-insurance-exchange/

This is why it's simply impossible to believe that ANY good news about TrainWreckCare is credible.

This administration has proved beyond ANY doubt that it will tell any lie to sell the American people on this edsel...

"Obamacare. Never wanted it.. STILL don't want it..."

Looks like war with Iran is coming whether we like it or not..

US WARSHIP HEADS TO YEMENI WATERS; COULD BLOCK IRAN WEAPONS

Problem here is Iran knows Obama is a weak-knee'ed noodle-fer-brains who won't commit military forces in theater because it would displease Left Wingers...

That's what we get for having a poll-driven POTUS...

Congress spent the week actually -- are you sitting down? -- getting some things done. No, really! Rather than screaming across the aisle, several big deals were struck this week. As with any deal, there was good news and bad news for both sides. The week began with an agreed compromise between the Senate and the White House over giving Congress one shot at derailing whatever Iran deal John Kerry comes up with. They'll have to have a veto-proof majority to do so, the vote will happen within the month after the deal is reached, and they only get one bite at this particular apple -- once the month is over, they can't keep coming back to it (see, for contrast: House, Obamacare votes). President Obama didn't want any Congressional vote, but then again he got a fairly good deal because Republicans won't be allowed to attach all sorts of poison-pill amendments designed to kill any deal before it is struck. So both sides got something out of the compromise.

Which is EXACTLY how government is supposed to work...

This is EXACTLY what Obama should have done with Immigration..

Work WITH Congress rather than doing an end run AROUND Congress...

As bitchy and moaning as the American people are against Congress, they would support Obama's policies a LOT more if Obama didn't try to act like the Emperor Palpatine...

<I. Republican haters (IOW Republican voters), can't handle the truth about their hatefulness. Tough "love" doesn't hurt anybody!

You have yet to provide any evidence that it's about "hate"...

Your "truth" is subjective and is solely and completely based on your hatred of Republicans...

That's why I deal in "FACTS" and not "truth"..

When Jorge Ramos asked Rubio whether he'd attend the wedding of a gay family member or staffer, Rubio replied: "I'm not going to hurt them simply because I disagree with a choice they've made or because I disagree with a decision they've made"

He really should've learned something from Rick Perry calling the Latino haters "heartless". Republican haters (IOW Republican voters), can't handle the truth about their hatefulness. Tough "love" doesn't hurt anybody!

Looks like Rubio has staked out the "gay people were born that way, but we have to discriminate against them on a state by state basis because God thinks man lying with man is an abomination even if it's His fault" position. It's a good thing the horse race coverage is shallow and superficial.

"Of course, you can PROVE that, right?? Oh that's right, I forgot. You were absent the day they taught LAW at Law School!"

"In Kansas, an 11-year-old stood up for medical marijuana in school. For bravely questioning authority, he was rewarded with a trip to the police station"

So, if an 11-year-old stood up for legalizing heroin and crack cocaine you would call him "brave"??

What's next???

Having 6-yr olds advocate for AIDS awareness???

Here's a thought..

Why don't we let kids be kids for a while??

Why push them to grow up so fast??

Speaking as a parent and a grandparent, I mean...

"In Kansas, an 11-year-old stood up for medical marijuana in school. For bravely questioning authority, he was rewarded with a trip to the police station"

Well, at least he's lived to tell about it (so far). He should probably leave town while he still can.

The geriatric pay-to-play cop from Oklahoma went on TV to apologize for tasering that citizen with his gun. He said it was the second worst thing that had ever happened to him (he'd had cancer). Realizing that maybe that didn't sound so good, he said it was actually the worst thing that had ever happened to him.

Since he had shot and killed a fleeing human being (who wasn't himself), it's very bizarre to hear him say that it was something that happened to him. On the other hand, cops seem to shit their pants at the sight of a black man running away from them these days, so maybe that's what he was referring to.

LizM,

"You mean the freedom to be unhealthy and to live in an unhealthy society?"

Nope. Those can't be the freedoms in question. Americans are still as free as ever to be unhealthy. They still smoke lots of cigarettes and consume lots of Big Gulps and fast food. If they have to walk any further than to the car, they drive.

Let's see. Pay-to-play killer cops, white pride delis, gang rape at the beach, anti-gay auto repair shops, perpetual political campaigns, perpetual war, Hillary eating burritos . . .

I'm pretty sure that we're still free to live in an unhealthy society too.

The freedom lost is the freedom to screw the poor people who are priced out of the healthcare market and control the ones who get it through their employers.

BTW - are Canadians free to be unhealthy under the tyranny of the socialism?

How would the Left feel if, since studies show that an armed society is a polite society, the government mandated firearms training and carrying??

How would the Left like THAT "mandate"??

Michale,

Now let's discuss the loss of personal freedoms and liberties that go along with those scenarios...

You mean the freedom to be unhealthy and to live in an unhealthy society?

There appears to be something quite fundamental about healthcare in a first world country that is always missing from your analyses and analogies on this subject.

Had HC used the culturally correct "Mystery Machine" about six people would have known what the hell she was referring to. Scooby Van clicks with many millions of a certain age with a fondness for endearing, enduring cartoon crapitude. Know your audience!

As for HC' s faulty contraction chip, the Clinton IT team is working the problem.

This reply reads better if you use the snarky slurr of Comic Book Guy.

"Yet another quarter's data shows, once again, that Obamacare is doing precisely what it was intended to do: reduce the number of Americans without health insurance.

Uh... yea...

If you make NOT having insurance a crime than.. yea... The numbers of those insured will go up..

Just like if you make NOT owning a firearm a crime...

Guess what??

The number of firearm owners will go up...

Now let's discuss the loss of personal freedoms and liberties that go along with those scenarios...

Actually, they're all haters.

Frothy Santorum decided to throw down the anti-gay gauntlet by declaring that he would not attend a gay wedding. Of course, he'll never receive an invitation to one so he'll be able to keep this promise, but he'll have to do better if he wants to get any attention in the GOP hatefest. Good thing he has a sugar daddy.

The GOP is always looking for federal agencies to get rid of/or at least down-size. I think the DEA is a good place to start. Move ALL drug and drug abuse policy from Law Enforcement to the more rational Public Health system. Shut down the for-profit prison system and use the money for addiction treatment (and the left-over money can be used for education/infrastructure/deficit reduction).

They were given a slap on the wrist, and then later promoted. None of them were fired.

Sounds like what happened at the IRS when the agency targeted Americans solely based on their political beliefs..

Obama's legacy will be heading an Administration that has absolutely no accountability...

Hillary is showing the same level of cultural tone-deafness as when she flubbed her big opening line, saying: "Live from New York, it is Saturday Night!"

Or when Obama mentioned the "Jedi Mind Meld"... :D

Harry Reid perhaps summed up the way most Democrats feel about the Republican field, stating bluntly: "I think they're all losers."
