“We debated this legislation for nearly a year before it was finally passed and signed by the president!”
-Elijia Cummings

What complete and utter bullcarp!!

No one "debated" anything...

Democrats imposed and dictated, passed this utter abortion by hook and by crook, using slick parliamentary tricks and then rushed it out for Obama to sign before the "stupid" American people could realize how badly they had been scrooed...

Obama and the Democrats own this debacle lock, stock and barrels and barrels of bullshit..

Gruber's only mistake is that he figured he might as well come clean and earn some brownie points because the dirty deed was done and no one would care enough to do anything about his statements...

"Oh Johnny, Johnny, did you back the wrong horse.."

There is credible intelligence that the IS has a dirty bomb... A twitter feed reports that a confirmed IS bomb-maker has stated the device has been smuggled into Europe..

If the release of this report prompts the detonation of this device, Obama, Feinstein and the Democrat Party will have the blood of thousands of innocent victims on their hand...

Smokey Bear said it best..

THINK!!! Before you strike..

Apparently, thinking is not a Democrat virtue...

When ya look at it, Gruber epitomizes what the Democrat Party has become as laid bare by Pelosi's claim, "We have to pass the law to find out what is in it!"..

Nothing but a bunch of hucksters, whether it be race hucksters (Al Sharpton, Obama, Ben Crump), gender hucksters (Lena Dunham, Mark Uterus) or political hucksters (Obama, Pelosi, Reid et al)...

The Democrat Party has become Gruber-rized...

Whatever the Democrats are doing.... Well it sounds exactly like what you accuse the Republicans of doing.

At the very least, they both achieve the same goal...

This is simply undeniable..

Corruption, tax cuts for the rich, and eliminating regulations are the problem. Unfortunately, these seem to be the same things Republicans are recommending as the solution.

It has been great, however, for wealthy people here in Ohio.

Just as the last 6 years under Obama and the Democrats has been great for the top 10% in the country..

But not the middle class..

It's not a question of Party, it's a question of competence..

The current batch of Democrat leaders have PROVEN they can't govern without overwhelming majorities. Even with a LOCK on all branches of government, the only thing that this current batch of leaders could accomplish was to make the rich richer..

Now the American people have gave them the heave ho and put the other guys in charge...

We're going to see how well they do and if it will be the Dem Party who is the Obstruct Party, the Party Of No...

Considering how badly Obama is doing in the Lame Duck session, I don't hold out too much hope...

Exactly.. It's STILL the economy.

And here in Ohio we have a Republican government.

Their plan was to cut taxes and regulation and voila ... jobs, jobs, jobs.

Only it hasn't worked. Ohio has lagged the nation in job growth.

It has been great, however, for wealthy people here in Ohio.

Right now, Ohio corporate media has figured out how to hide this from most people. I think at some point it has to collapse.

Unfortunately, I think things are going to get a lot worse before they do.

But.... But.... When gas prices fell with Bush, the Left made it clear that a President has absolutely no effect on gas prices at all.

Having said that, I completely agree that, realistically, gas prices do influence how people feel about their government..

The fact that low prices ($2 frakin 50 in my town!!! :D) didn't help Democrats should be a clue how badly the Dem Party has frak'ed up... :D

That's it. Job growth has lagged the nation.

Exactly.. It's STILL the economy..

That is why it's so perplexing that obama and the Dems would ignore the American people, ignore the economy, ignore jobs and concentrate solely on their partisan agenda..

In essence, obama and the Dems gave a big mighty FRAK YOU!! to the American people and the American people were happy to reciprocate on 4 Nov 2014...

Obama did a great job reducing the price of gas.

-David

(Ok, I know the price of gas isn't dependent on Obama. But if a Republican were in the White House this is what we'd be hearing. Here in Ohio, corporate media is going crazy about John Kasich because ...

... he's Republican.

That's it. Job growth has lagged the nation. Schools are being outsourced. We can't even get funding for a bridge that's badly needed rebuilding.

I mean, let's be honest here..

Clinton has skeletons in her closet that have skeletons in THEIR closets...

Do you think a Hillary nomination will be good for the Democrat Party??

The future is looking brighter for a majority of Americans, so sooner or later the talking heads in the media are going to have to take notice."

The problem is, that "brighter future" is a Party construct taken from the cherry picking of a good stat here, a good stat there and a good stat over there and viola!!

One Bright Future, made to order!!

The reality is, the bad overwhelms the good..

Take the Immigration issue...

Forget politics for a second. Take partisan Talking Points OUT of the equation...

"We have to remove the hostages!!"
"We're not going to shoot them, are we??"
"No. We're just going to take them out of the equation."
-SPEED

:D

Look at the Immigration issue with the cold light of objectivity and logic..

For the sake of clarity, let's simplify the issue..

Say you have a workforce of 50,000... It's a depressed time and only 45,000 of that workforce are actually working.. There are 5,000 in the workforce that don't have work.

Then, you throw another 10,000 workers into that same workforce..

Now, HOW exactly, can ANYTHING good come of it??

Those 45,000 who ARE working are going to be concerned that they will be replaced. The 5,000 who are NOT working are going to be concerned that they have an additional 10,000 workers that they are going to be competing for jobs..

How, EXACTLY by ANY stretch of reality, could this become a good thing??

Are new jobs going to suddenly materialize out of thin air??

Of course not... No matter HOW you look at this, ignoring politics and partisanship, this is a really REALLY bad idea...

Put it into another context..

Postulate a scenario where you have a raging fire at a gas tank farm that is burning out of control..

The OnScene Commander decides that the solution to this raging fire is to add another 50,000 gallons of GASOLINE to the fire!!

How, EXACTLY, will that make things all better??

Forget the political... Just look at this logically..

No matter HOW you slice it, it's a bad VERY bad idea..

So, yes... There is a bright spot here and a bright spot there..

But those bright spots are not bright enough to obfuscate the fact that things are going to hell in a hand-basket and someone just kicked in the basket's warp drive..

What is it with you people??!!

Look, I know ya'all's Democrat Party has taken a huge nuclear shellacking..

I know that Obama's not the wunderkind ya'all had hoped he would be..

I know you can't find much to point to with pride in what the Democrats are doing..

I know that the GOP is making huge strides and is capitalizing on all the huge blunders and mistakes that Democrats are making up and down the line..

And I know that I am an arrogant prick who gloats his ass off at the drop of a dime and never misses an opportunity to rub ya'all's noses in it..

But, com'on!! Don't sulk!!

You win some, you lose some... For the first 4 or 5 years, ya'all won a LOT of battles...

Now it's my turn to win a lot of battles...

I didn't take my ball and go home when ya'all were up.. Well, there was that one time, but that doesn't count.. :D

I don't think ya'all should take your ball and go home just because ya'all are down...

We have a mission to accomplish here.

For CW...

After that, if ya'all want to sulk and pout, that's fine... But let's give CW the support he deserves and has earned...

I should be well over 300 comments by now and I ain't even HALF that far...

I'm just sayin'....

(Copied over from the previous commentary because I am an idjut..)

The religion? Christianity, not Islam. If the same thing had happened and the guy had been carrying a Koran, imagine how different the news coverage would have been (and the sheer volume of it)!

Troo...

The Left would be screaming hysterically to high heaven about how the police used excessive force against a person who was simply exercising his freedom of religion. The Leftist MSM would declare that McQuilliams was a "Black-White" man and Al Sharpton would swarm his goons all over Austin and make speeches ad nasuem regarding the militarized police force who "obviously" used snipers to brutally murder this unarmed poor soul.

Eric Holder would immediately open up a civil rights case and investigate every nook and cranny to make sure McQuilliams' civil rights of freedom of religion and due process were not curtailed in the least...

Obama would take to the airwaves....

"It's my policy to never comment on cases that are under investigation but if I had a son, he would look like Larry McQuilliams.. Obviously Sgt "CrackShot" Johnson of the Austin Police Department acted stupidly."

Obama would declare that this was a case of "work place violence" which would make Sgt Johnson ineligible for any recognition whatsoever...

So, yea... I guess it's a good thing that this scumbag was a christian scumbag.. :^/

By a cop, who drew his sidearm while his OTHER hand was holding the reins of two police horses, took aim, one handed mind you, with no brace and hit the gunman dead center mass in the chest..

AT 312 FEET!!!!

Now THAT is marksmanship

Incidentially the sidearm the cop used was a Smith & Wesson M&P .40, standard issue for Austin PD...

I have a feeling that cop is never going to have to buy himself a beer in any cop bar in Texas... :D

Speaking of Islamic terrorism, yet another congressional investigation run by a Republican wrapped up and released its findings on the Benghazi attack. These findings amounted to: "Everything Fox News has ever said about Benghazi is completely false and there is no evidence for any of their conspiracy theories." Yet another big story the mainstream media (including the non-Fox media) largely chose to ignore, after breathlessly reporting on every rumor and crackpot theory for two years.

And, if ya'all think this is the last we'll hear of Benghazi, then I have some swampland in Florida I wanna sell you..

Benghazi is going to be 2016 election fodder for the next two years and I wager that what we know now will be NOTHING compared to what we will learn about Benghazi in the next two years..

You heard it here first...

It's easy to blame the mainstream media for not adequately covering this stuff, but in the spirit of the season, we're going to let them off the hook, because there were so many other stories that they also were busily and studiously ignoring -- like the one where an ultra-right-wing anti-immigrant homegrown terrorist shot up a Texas city in the name of his twisted concept of religion. The religion? Christianity, not Islam. If the same thing had happened and the guy had been carrying a Koran, imagine how different the news coverage would have been (and the sheer volume of it)!

In fairness, if it was a guy with a Koran, it would be happening daily...

But the interesting part of this story is not that the guy shot up an Austin street. The interesting part is how he was brought down.

By a cop, who drew his sidearm while his OTHER hand was holding the reins of two police horses, took aim, one handed mind you, with no brace and hit the gunman dead center mass in the chest..

AT 312 FEET!!!!

Now THAT is marksmanship!

Of course, the Benghazi report ignored ALL the eyewitness accounts..

But why let the FACTS get in the way of a good crow, eh?? :D

Her apology wasn't enough, and she was forced to resign Monday morning. Now she'll have a whole lot of time for such self-reflection.

When will we hear apologies for all the hits the Left took against the Bush girls??

{{chiirrrppp}} {{chiirrrrrpppp}}

Get to the TPs later...

The future is looking brighter for a majority of Americans, so sooner or later the talking heads in the media are going to have to take notice."

I think the media can pencil that in. Does 11/9/2016 work for you?

'Hey, all those terrifying worst-possible-case scenarios never actually happened, folks!'

The effect of the Ebola panicdemic may not have been worst-possible-case, but it sure was worse than you predicted. By quite a few seats, if I remember right.
