<B>But generally speaking you get past the next election by changing your policies, by announcing new initiatives, but not by wantonly changing the law lawlessly. This is stuff you do in a banana republic. It’s as if the law is simply a blackboard on which Obama writes any number he wants, any delay he wants, and any provision.

It’s now reached a point where it is so endemic that nobody even notices or complains. I think if the complaints had started with the first arbitrary changes — and these are are not adjustments or transitions. These are political decisions to minimize the impact leading up to an election. And it’s changing the law in a way that you are not allowed to do.</B>
-Charles Krauthammer

Once again, ole Chuck nails it..

Can you imagine how the Left would have reacted if a GOP POTUS was so blatantly lawless??

My gods, the fear-mongering hysteria would have been deafening!!

What with the latest illegal extension of TrainWreckCare I think we can ALL agree on one thing..

It's obvious to anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together that obamacare simply WAS NOT READY for debut...

Ya know what is funny?? When I type 'obamacare' the only match that the spell check can come up with is 'macabre'...

Howz THAT for irony!!?? :D

And TrainWreckCare gets ANOTHER extension!

This, despite Seibelus's claim that there would be NO MORE extensions to TWC....

This begs the question...

If obamacare is so gosh durn awesome, WHY must there be so many extensions??

Oh, that's an easy one to answer.

It's because obamacare is going to cause so much headaches and heartaches, that Democrats simply MUST extend the pain so it doesn't happen right before the mid-term elections...

It's also interesting to note that EVERYONE is getting extensions except for middle class Americans...

Which simply provides MORE evidence (as if any more is needed) that those who support TrainWreckCare are supporting corporate entities and are in favor of screwing over middle class Americans..

Who would have thunked it...

Let's hope those that survived (16) took the training to heart and follow their instructor's example when THEY train additional scumbags..

<B>"We are going to have parents being able to come home, working reasonable hours. People are going to be able to retire. People might actually be able to cook dinner rather than have to order out and get some takeout. If you look at international comparisons country by country, Americans work way more than the average of industrialized countries around the world."</B>
-Democrat Keith Ellison

Ahhhh....

So THAT's the problem with America..

According to Democrats, Americans "work too hard"...

And the Democrats are going to SAVE Americans from working!!

If there ever was a reason to get Democrats far FAR away from the reigns of power, this would be it..

CW,

It's not "JOB LOCK" that's the issue..

It's WORK LOCK...

So, let me see if I understand Democrats now..

They view honest hard work as a burden that people must be protected from??

Are you SERIOUS!!????

If anyone sane ever needed any proof that Obama and the Democrats are destroying this country, there it is.

In un-spin-anable black and white.

Democrats are going to save Americans from having to work...

Gods help us all...

Speak2,

That's a very good point. And, I think you're right - there must be any number of examples out there of why a person might have been "locked in job" and unable to move to another one or start a new business just because they were afraid of not having quality healthcare.

As a Canadian, the whole idea of linking healthcare to your employer is quite foreign and not an easy concept for me to understand.

NYPOET [5]
The jobs that would open are existing jobs. Many would be unfulfilling, PT, minimum wage, etc. But those jobs already actually exist, so their is no net change for the worse, per se.

Hey CW & Elizabeth:

Continuing with "talking points" focused on the CBO Jobs bit. Rather than talking about the near-elderly looking to retire early, but needing employer-sponsored health care or the other groups Dems are speaking to, another group strikes me as the more powerful "talking point."

People who wish to go out on their own, but are afraid to leave their current job b/c of health care.

There are really some good examples of people who can be brought to appeal to our sympathies with this one.

One example is a friend of mine. He was working for an organic produce distributor, working in inventory and driving a truck. He left to become a contractor (he's my GC). However, until the ACA took effect, his decision cost him the ability to have health insurance. Since he's unmarried and without children or any serious condition, he was taking the chance, but not such a big deal.

Others, in his situation, who might have a spouse or child in need of regular health care could not have started their own business in such a situation b/c of their health care needs. The ACA enables such people to strike out on their own and start their own businesses.

This was one of the talking points when the ACA was being hashed out, but it seems to be missing from the discussion that followed the CBO report, even by ACA supporters and it strikes me as exceptionally powerful.

<I>You left yourself so wide open on that one and so completely unprotected that I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that and just let this wonderfully delicious opportunity pass ...</I>

Damn!!! You avoided the trap!!

<B>"DRAT!! Foiled again!!!"</B>
-Dick Dastardly

 :D

But the second part of my comment just cries out for an answer..

Where is the *AFFORDABLE* part of the ACA???

Will the American people ever see it??

Or (more likely) will the insurance corporations just get richer while the middle class just gets scrooed over by Democrats and Republicans??

Once again... Warriors for the middle class, my arse!!

Michale,

Now THAT was funny!

You left yourself so wide open on that one and so completely unprotected that I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that and just let this wonderfully delicious opportunity pass ...

Because, I'm such a good-hearted person, you know. :)

<I>This really isn't that meaningful since the same CBO report concludes that the economic impact of the ACA is positive in the overall, increasing net employment and decreasing the budget deficit.</I>

No. That is what the CBO PROJECT will happen..

NONE of it has come to pass..

And, until the ACA lives up to the *AFFORDABLE* part of it's name, it will be an epic fail.

A Train Wreck...

It's really that simple...

We're not even talking about <I>actual</I> jobs here but, rather a loss of hours worked and what the equivalent of those lost hours is in terms of full-time jobs.

This really isn't that meaningful since the same CBO report concludes that the economic impact of the ACA is positive in the overall, increasing net employment and decreasing the budget deficit.

<I>It would seem that the real talking point to push hard is that 2.5 million unemployed people will now be able to find jobs, as positions open up.</I>

No...

The REAL talking point is will those 2.5 million actually TAKE the jobs??

Or will they continue to sponge off the taxpayers, since Democrats are making that so easy to do...

Chris,

That House hearing on marijuana sure does sound like one not to be missed!

Which is probably why there are no comments yet - here or over at HuffPo - everyone is gearing up to watch it in its entirety ...
