Whether he'll be successful at distancing himself from the ugliness or whether it'll sink his future chances of attaining higher office remain to be seen, at this point. So... Ya'all think it's "ugly" that a leader would use political power to be petty and vindictive and adopt a "make it hurt" strategy to punish innocent people whose sole "crime" is that they disagree... "Reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaallllyyyy" -Ace Ventura As far as the '-gate' suffix, it should have been retired decades ago.. But, as we all know, our journalists are lazy and not very innovative... This is happening in the Garden State, so they could have called it "garden gate". And why wasn't the Tailhook scandal called "tailgate"? I hadn't even noticed the absence of the suffix, actually.
