Liz,

It would have been a huge mistake, I think, to put new sanctions, delayed or otherwise, in that bill, at this very sensitive time.

77% of Americans want MORE sanctions on Iran, not less...

We recognize that Iran simply cannot be trusted..

Let Iran unequivocally and publicly withdraw support for Hamas and Hezbollah..

THEN we can discuss a deal...

Michale [13] -

Actually, it has come full circle -- I wrote the article after hearing Menendez interviewed.

But it looks like the sanctions are not going to be in the military appropriations bill...

Hay CW!!

The Senate group, led by Sens. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., and Mark Kirk, R-Ill., has agreed that the new sanctions would take effect in six months, when the current interim deal brokered between the U.S., Iran, and five other world powers expires. The sanctions would permit Iran to develop nuclear power for commercial purposes, so long as the development is monitored by the international community.

"We'll do sanctions tied to the end game where the relief will only come if they stop the enrichment program, dismantle the reactor and turn over the enriched uranium," Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. told CNN Monday.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/12/10/senators-prepare-new-sanctions-against-iran/

Apparently Congress reads CW.COM!!!

Good call!!! :D

Sounds great in theory, but the reality is far FAR different...

obamacare is working???

Of the 1.6 million people who signed up for obamacare, only .14 million of those actually signed up for private market health insurance.....

The other 1.46 million who signed up, signed up for MEDICAID....

This is projected to cost the Federal and State governments up to a TRILLION dollars over the next decade...

And I can personally attest to how bad government run medicaid really is....

This is why I don't understand how people can say, "Let the government run health care!!"

Yea, cause the government does such a bang-up job in other businesses...

The VA... The Post Office.... The list of government/business screw ups is long and distinguished...

"Yea? So'se my johnson."

Was rather more about spending for scientific & space exploration. I understand your eagerness to jump on the one point; but, to me, scientific research is a valid government expense.

I gotta agree with DB...

On the face of it SETI activities does sound like sci-fi and a useless endeavor, but think of it..

What's left to discover??

Can anyone think of any other possible discovery that has the potential to alter the lives of every single person on the planet??

We're a Been There Done That race. I can't think of anything else that would literally stop every single person dead in their tracks...

On a more humorous note..

Wanna give a geek an aneurysm???

As further evidenced by the huge increase in premiums virtually across the board...

I guess the "AFFORDABLE" part of obamacare is being ignored...

DB,

Remember Michale has stated, for the record, that Obamacare is nothing more or less than the web site.

With an overwhelming number of facts to prove it..

If the website fails, then obamacare fails..

Ergo, obamacare is a website..

 Obamacare is working

Yea, the problem is that obamacare IS working..

Top hospitals are opting out of obamacare...

70% of doctors in California will boycott obamacare..

That's the "beauty" of obamacare..

OK, first let me catch up on some old business...

David,

Sorry, mate. I cross posted it on my site earlier this morn.

http://akadjian.com/2013/12/im-tired-explaining-conservative-health-care-law-conservatives/

BTW, lemme know what you think about the site redesign. Just finished a complete makeover

I like the new site.. In websites, less is always more and your site really nails it. My problem with anything creative is that I never know when to stop.. I always add a cute graphic here or a nifty font there.

It's the clay hippo all over again! :D

db -

I almost included a snarky line about how it was right there in the title: WALL STREET Journal. But I figured everyone would get the point anyway.

:-)

Yeah, I felt a little bad about #7 (which is why I linked to that particular article, which does treat the issue fairly), but hey Republicans do this sort of thing all the time (pointing out Democrats dealing with strange issues in Congress) so I felt it was fair enough. To me, it's about the priorities in December, a month when Congress will only be in session a handful of days. They've got better things to do right now, that's my point.

Wall Street Journal is owned by Rupert Murdock's News Corp. What's the surprise?

#5

Remember Michale has stated, for the record, that Obamacare is nothing more or less than the web site.

#6

And watch Fox "News" twist. Jon Stewart has eviscerated them already.

#7
