Chris
     Very interesting Talking Point #7,Oddly I have knowledge about that topic,the Republicans will never go for it,the island is ninety nine percent simpatico with the Democratic Party and the Republicans know that,add to that the sentiment of their base,Bible and gun lovin' 'Mericans, "don't want nobody that don't talk no 'Merican." It seems to me that our beloved Republican Party will continue down the road as the party of the rich and or ignorant.

   In the mean time those of us who remain partisan Democrats,will have to suffer with the likes of Mr.Reid,I really can't get worked up about 2016 till we sort out 2014 first;if we can stick together it is my belief we can defeat Gerry Mander in 2014;call me mad as a March hare.

The Court already "settled" the issue of abortion 40 years ago with Roe v Wade, but that hasn't stopped the right-wing fanatics from pursuing it as an issue.

@Pastafarian-
Thus making it the perfect campaign issue!

It riles up the faithful and gets them to the polls and has been nearly unattainable. The last thing Republican politicians actually want is to repeal Roe/Wade. If this happened, they'd lose it as a campaign issue.

And, their position is out of the mainstream when it comes to the economy.

So much so that when non-partisan research doesn't support their view, they suppress it.

“The reduction in the top tax rates appears to be uncorrelated with saving, investment and productivity growth. The top tax rates appear to have little or no relation to the size of the economic pie. However, the top tax rate reductions appear to be associated with the increasing concentration of income at the top of the income distribution.”

Just like when science doesn't support their view, they propose teaching their view as well. Even though one is science, one religion.
