1. The gap has grown to it's biggest point since the 1920s
2. It's still growing

And what's the point in showing that...

Other than making the poor feel more pissed off, I mean??

David,

What's the solution??

Anything the Democrats have tried the last 6-8 years has been a dismal failure..

What's the solution if the GOP ideas suck and the Dem ideas suck worse???

4. Trickle down theory has not worked. Nothing has trickled down.

On the contrary, it's worked perfectly: nothing has trickled down.

All that shows is that there is a gap between the rich and the poor.

Well, it shows a little more than that ...

1. The gap has grown to it's biggest point since the 1920s
2. It's still growing
3. The wealthy have benefited most from tax cuts (corporate welfare)
4. Trickle down theory has not worked. Nothing has trickled down.

So any time I hear any politician proposing some form of "trickle down" theory, I'm skeptical.

My point was that the Obama administration will have a much better record of getting budget deficits under control and managing the national debt.

We'll soon see...

Because, as our esteemed leader has said...

"That's what elections are for"

Michale,

Oh, there is no reason to believe that these projections are not accurate. But,I think we're confusing debt with deficits. :)

Liz,

Oh I believe you.. I just don't believe the projections are accurate... :D

They couldn't possibly be... How will we go from 14 TRILLION in debt to just 6 Trillion in debt in five years...

It's simply not possible...

CW,

All that shows is that there is a gap between the rich and the poor....

Speaking as one of the "poor" I would have to say, "So??"

Yea, it would be nice if the rich could be less rich so the poor could be less poor..

It would also be nice if Buffett would send me a million dollars. He can afford it, right??

But that's not how things work in this country. If someone wants to be rich, then let them EARN it..

Trust me, it's a LOT more satisfying when wealth is earned, rather than given.. I know.. :D

Michale,

The debt has been accumulating under several administrations, both Republican and Democrat.

However, the Congressional Budget Office has studied the cost of policies under the last two administrations, with projections to 2017. They have found that the Bush policies have cost $5.07 trillion dollars while the Obama policies are - projected through fiscal 2017 - to cost 1.44 trillion dollars.

I can muster up a link if you don't believe me. :)

tinsldr2,

Well ... it's late, I'm tired and I'm not really sure what I should make of all of that.

Hey, I should get special brownie points, though, just for clicking on it without hesitation or any mental reservation, whatsoever. :)

Ya know what is really funny about Warren's speech??

She drags up the old dead horse that it's all Bush's fault. Wars, Medicare Drug program, etc etc.. She counts it all off and says, "That's how we got 4 trillion in debt"...

Then she stops...

So, the LOGICAL people watching this, who KNOW our country is FOURTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS in debt, are asking.....

"Uhh... Ms Warren?? If Bush is responsible for the FOUR Trillion dollars in debt and, by your own saying, the way to AVOID that is not to do those things..... Well, can you explain where the other TEN TRILLION DOLLARS in debt came from???? And should the country have done THOSE things??? HMMMMMMM??????? Well?????????"

Obama and the Democrats have almost TRIPLED the debt that they castigate Bush for...

Now, call me silly, but that seems to me to be the EPITOME of hypocrisy......

Someone... ANYONE... please explain to me why making FOUR TRILLION DOLLARS in debt is a BAD thing, but making almost THREE TIMES THAT in debt is NOT a bad thing???

"Anyone??? Anyone??? Beuhler???"

Now, let's move on...

But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did.

"Ya know what's really funny? These people don't realize that we pay taxes too!"
-Pete Malloy, ADAM-12

Warren doesn't seem to realize that the guy who got rich building the factory ALSO paid the people who built the roads, ALSO paid the people who educated his workers and ALSO pays the police and fire personnel...

The factory builder did everything that everyone else did PLUS put his own money and sweat equity into building his business from the ground up..

So, please explain to me why ANYONE else deserves the benefits of THAT guy's sweat and labor??

If someone wants the monetary benefits of building a factory or having a great idea, here's a unique and astounding idea...

Let them go out and BUILD a factory!!! Or HAVE a great idea!!!!

Whooooaaaaaaaa Watta concept!!!

/sarcasm

I applaud Ms Warren for knowing the buttons to push to get the American Left to grab their torches and pitchforks and go all hate on the American Right..

But, seriously...

Does that solve ANYTHING???

Any two bit psychotic personality can pick a group and get another group to hate and despise them...

It takes a REAL leader to get people to work together...

Ya gotta admit, tinsldr2 has a good point..

You read about those Union thugs who armed themselves with chains and bats and took security personnel hostage??

Are these the Union "rights" that Democrats fight for???

" just for Liz:

"at least until gangs armed with pitchforks and torches start appearing across the land"

I sell pitchforks and torches at my website at www.sharkfighter.com/tinsldr2

If you havent seen that yet you should :)

And for Chris:

Armed gangs? You mean like the flash Mobs of Obama supporters in the streets of Philly?

Or the Union thugs?

Or liberal protesters to austerity measures like we had in London coming to America?

Surely you don't mean the blue haired ladies and folks with walkers that make up the Tea Party right?

You must be referring to the type of violence that the Huffington Post predicts will happen from his base if Obama Loses the election.

Framing the issues compellingly is not such an easy thing to do so it's wonderful to see such good examples going 'round.
