Michale,

I guess I've just about had it with the nonsense political rhetoric, politely delivered or not. I find this kind of mindless political discourse to be a great obstacle in the effort to make progress on any number of critical issues.

As for the comparisons between the Nazi propaganda machine and the lies and disinformation constantly being propogated by politicians today who demonstrate a flagrant disregard for the truth of the matter and an obvious disdain for facts presented in context in their effort to gain and maintain positions of power ... I really don't want to go there. :)

I would have to disagree...

Inflammatory and nasty rhetoric is usually, by definition, inaccurate..

Take the above from a Dem Congresscritter, comparing the GOP's stance on CrapCare akin to Nazi Propaganda..

Not only is it nasty and inflammatory, it is also completely and wildly inaccurate...

I would much prefer inaccurate, but civil discourse..

One can always argue and debate and, eventually, correct inaccurate civil discussions..

Once you start with the inflammatory and nasty rhetoric that is completely inaccurate, you start burning bridges..

The interaction between myself and Matt Osborne here on CW.COM is a perfect example of this....

Michale,

Wouldn't you agree that the problem with political rhetoric from ALL corners is not that it is becoming increasingly inflammatory or vitriolic. The problem is that it is largely inaccurate and out of context when it's not complelely false.

I mean, give me a good and nasty argument using vitriolic political rhetoric any day of the week - just make sure its based in reality and comports with the facts of any given issue.

While I applaud your efforts to rise above politics, I still think that Sheriff Dupnick deserves the MDDOTW for the week..

At the VERY least, he deserves the MDLEOOTW award and, since I am most representative of that area of expertise, I hereby bestow it. :D Apologies if that seems presumptuous..

Seriously, while it's likely that the Hysterical Left and the Leftist MSM would have gotten around to blaming the Right eventually, it's undeniable that Dupnick got the ball rolling early and often...

Having said that, I wholeheartedly concur with NYpoet...

Obama gave a helluva speech...
