Disappointed that the DREAM act didn't, but progress is progress.

I was for the DREAM act.... Before I was against it. :D

On a happy note ...

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see that DADT passed.

But the real irony here is that the feds didn't go ballistic when Assange published his war documents, but when he released diplomatic cables.

Glad to see that I am not the only one who noticed this.

The hypocrisy from the Administration is appalling.. And I can imagine the grunts on the ground are pretty disgusted with their civilian leadership..

Good call on person of the year! Time Magazine totally chickened out - probably afraid they'd somehow draw the ire of the Justice Department.

almost nobody is talking about punishing respected news organizations (the New York Times, among them) for doing essentially the same thing Wikileaks did, with the same documents

Seems like they might be investigating just this idea ...
http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6BH03F20101218

I have no idea what they're hoping to gain from this as the more they go after Wikileaks, the more people are curious about it.

Unless they've finally started playing by conservative rules of "gaming the media" w/ fake national security issues :)
