Chris,

..."freudian slip"? Right. I assumed that was just another in a long line of slams against the president from the "professional left". :)

I've become so accustomed to that sort of thing, you understand, I didn't even give it a second thought ...

I applaud Obama's veto of the foreclosure change. How that got through the Senate ... sheesh.

I'd like to see him take advantage of some business framing and say that he's "letting the market work".

And what happens in the market when you commit a crime like this ... you get pursued by 50 state attorney generals.

The alternative was what they tried to do in that bill. Legislate the problem away = corporate bailout. But mark my words, if this truly is as big as I think, there will be demands for a government bailout.

I also applaud the use of the word "intransigence" in your speech. Some may accuse you of elitism :), but I miss the days when "speechifiers" strove to make their speeches more intelligent and not less.

Cheers

Sorry... I forgot to attribute the quote.

That was David Axelrod who stated that on one of the Sunday talk shows...

CW,

Heh. Sorry for the subliminal joke, everyone, as the joke was really on me. Just had to admit that...

I totally missed it. :D

But, in the "things that make you go hmmmmm" category....

"If people don't disclose {their donations/dues), there's a reason."

Logically then, if Obama doesn't show his original birth certificate then "there's a reason"....

Can't have it both ways....

@cw,

i thought it was a joke, and intentional. considering how disappointing the president has been to many of us over the last couple years, i figured it was a comment on that.

OK, I have to admit, there's a foreshadowing bit of a Freudian slip in this article (which, thankfully, everyone either missed or thought was an intentional joke). I was just re-reading it in preparation for answering comments here and noticed:

"Some might have expected this discussion to take place a little further down this column, in the Most Disappointing President Of The Week award section"

That was supposed to just say Most Disappointing Democrat Of The Week, I swear. My own rapidly-typing fingers betrayed me, and during editing I never even noticed it.

Heh. Sorry for the subliminal joke, everyone, as the joke was really on me. Just had to admit that...

The repeal of DADT might not be so forgone a conclusion as some might think..

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/10/15/retiring-marines-chief-warns-uncomfortable-serving-openly-gay-troops/

Postulate a scenario whereas the December report from the military would show that there would be widespread morale issues if the DADT were repealed.

What would happen then??

those who don't own an entire mortgage have no standing to enforce foreclosure proceedings. if the mortgage is tied up in derivatives, either they should bring in all the owners of the derivatives, buy them all back, or (pardon my french but) leave the house alone and shut the hell up.
