Minor correction to the above..

In 2008, Mexico made being an illegal immigrant a civil crime and no longer a felony...

Once again, the unmitigated gall and blatant hypocrisy displayed by the Mexican President is enough to piss off the pope!

Calderón Before Congress: AZ Immigration Law ‘Carries Great Amount of Risk’
http://www.breitbart.tv/calderon-before-congress-az-immigration-law-carries-great-amount-of-risk/

Someone with a pair should tell El Presidente to get his own house in order before he presumes to lecture the US on how to handle illegal immigration.

The Arizona Law is a LOVE FEST compared to Mexico's illegal immigration laws..

Mexico is a much smaller country than the US, but it deports more illegal immigrants than the US... Being an illegal immigrant in Mexico is a felony punishable by up to a year in jail.

Mexico has a single easy to understand law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

A. In Mexico legally

B. Have the means to sustain themselves economically

C. Not destined to be burdens on society

D. Of economic and social benefit to society

E. Of good character and have no criminal records

F. Contributors to the general well being of the nation.

Mexico's law also ensures that:

A. Authorities have a record of each foreign visitor

B. Foreign visitors do not violate their visa status

C. Foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics

D. Foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported

E. Foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported

F. Those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison

THIS is the law in Mexico...

Now compare that to SB1070...

You can't because there simply is no comparison...

President Calderon.. Go home.. The US doesn't need YOU to lecture us on how to handle our laws...

Well, iddn't this interesting... :D

The city of Los Angeles has voted to boycott Arizona..

Yet, that same city gets about 25% of it's power FROM Arizona...

NOW, Arizona is saying, "Fine.. If you don't want anything to do with us, we guess that means you don't want our power.."

:D

LA's boycott resolution sparks a threat over power the city receives from Arizona
http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local-beat/Power-Play-Over-Immigration-Law-94251079.html

I say, leave LA in the dark.. Serves them right for their narrow-minded and terroristic tactics...

And we have ANOTHER Obama official who has been bad mouthing the Arizona law without having read it.

Napolitano Admits She Hasn't Read Arizona Law But Says She Wouldn't Sign It
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/05/17/napolitano_admits_she_hasnt_read_arizona_law_but_says_she_wouldnt_sign_it.html

What IS it about this Administration that let's the Left Wing media decide Administration policy???

I really REALLY pine for the days when elected officials actually READ the things they have strong opinions on..

Surely, ya'all aren't defending this, eh??

Thanx Shirley... That IS an interesting chart..

However, the ONLY similarity between 1948 and 2010 is that both years had a political election...

I would file this more under wishcasting than anything else as it really has no basis in reality or what has occurred in past elections under these circumstances...

But, I'll give you an "E" for effort... :D

Democrats can only win people over if they make the case to people why they're the better choice.

The problem with that is they (Democrats) can't make such a case without lying thru their teeth..

And even if they tried, the public actually knows better..

From CrapCare to lies about unemployment to lies about JOBS ARE NUMBER 1 PRIORITY to all the rest, the American public is on to this Administration..

In the 2008 elections the American people (including me) said...

"Ya know, the GOP has royally screwed the pooch in most areas. Let's see if the Democrats can do better."

Us Independents gave the DP a shot and things are worse now than ever before. And there doesn't seem to be ANY sign of improvement over the next 3-5 years...

So now, us Independents are going to give the keys back to the GOP..

While they may royally frak things up domestically, at least they know how to keep this country safe...

The second Obama speech excerpt is from an event he held in Buffalo, where he was mostly focused on the economy.

JOBS are our number 1 priority!
-President Obama, 2010 State Of The Union address

This president is the epitome of knowing all the right things to say, but never following thru with action...

But so few Democrats even bother making the point, right when it might actually gain some traction.

Because Democrats know that they will be hoisted by their own petard if they were to attempt to make such an argument..

According to Bill Clinton, the Democrats are more to blame for deregulation than the Republicans...

One trillion dollars and counting...

And we're going to spend MORE than that on CrapCare... And things won't get better, they will get worse...

As with illegal immigration, the war against illegal drugs is an easy one to fight. It just takes the will to ignore the namby-pamby politically correct solutions and go with real punishment for casual users instead of the revolving door, slap on the wrist "punishment" favored by the Democrats..

Once we start treating the casual users like the criminals they are, as opposed to victims, you can bet that casual usage will decline immensely.. Once you get rid of the casual users and beef up the security at the southern border, you will be well on your way to winning the "drug war"...

Like I have said time and time again.. Surrender and appeasement (aka Legalization) NEVER works and simply creates more and bigger problems..

Coincidences of this magnitude sometimes have a reason, and I think it's worth looking at for this very reason."

You mean like the huge coincidence of the announcement of civil actions against GoldmanSachs that coincided PERFECTLY with the White House announcement of it's "war on Wall Street"??

You mean THAT magnitude of coincidence? :D

I won't even bother to mention how many Wall Street fund raisers that Obama and the Democrats have attended since then... That would just be WAY to easy of an argument... :D

reportedly because they didn't want the image of their party to be tied to what's going on currently in Arizona.

Who "reported" it?? :D DNCC?? HuffPo?? :D

Liz,

I guess if the president has little benefit of the doubt at this point, the treasury secretary might as well be on the board of directers at GS.

I thought he was... :D

Shirley,

Chris, I won't say that I told you so...but it's interesting how the Senate seems to have cleared the decks by passing health insurance reform. It's as if the longest, toughest battle was fought first to make way for the successive ones.

Funny how that worked out.

I'll remind you as to how well it "worked out" on 3 November 2010... :D

"That's what elections are for."
-President Obama

I have a feeling that Obama is going to regret saying those words... :D

But you are putting all of that at risk, by appearing in a sentence in the news linked together with "Wall Street" in opposition to what you yourselves called for doing -- popular and strong reform. And you simply don't have a lot of "benefit of the doubt" left at this point, I'm sad to say.

Are you serious!? You are actually condeming the president with a MDDOTW award for being mentioned in a media report, or two, that we all know couldn't get a story like this right if their lives depended on it!!!

Did the media explain WHY the president had concerns about the Fed audit amendment?

I guess if the president has little benefit of the doubt at this point, the treasury secretary might as well be on the board of directers at GS. I'd bet that a majority of the people believe that to be true anyway - they probably read it in some 'media' report.
