I call this the President's "training year," but now the training wheels come off, and he really needs to show us he can deliver. In comparison, I call 2001 Bush's "training year" (and 9/11 the unfortunate result, which is why i don't blame him for the event). in comparison, Barack's first year was actually quite good, but that's not saying much. Getting back to the actual topic of the article:
