I want to personally thank you for actually writing the White House. We all think "oh, nobody'll ever read this," but they do actually pay attention to what people are saying to them.

One thing I have to give Obama credit for is reading 10 letters a day from average people. He has done this all along, but doesn't make a big deal out of it. And you never know, perhaps yours will be one of the ten his staff puts on his desk.

Being a journalist (or someone who plays one on the web, at least), I have a rule that I don't forward my own columns to politicians. But every so often, I encourage others to do so, and I am always glad when someone makes the effort to do so.

So I just wanted to say thanks, and welcome to the site.

Personally, I like option A the best as it has the best chance of success and uniting ALL Americans.

As I used to say with passion, Obama is an AMERICAN President, not a DEMOCRAT President.

We lived on Whidbey Island for quite a few years and if there is a heaven on Earth, then it is the gorgeous Pacific Northwest in general and the Whidbey Island area specifically.

I am under no illusion that President Obama will ever hear about my message - but hopefully the staff will find your suggestion so useful, that they will pursue such a action.

I'd bet my last dollar that my personal choice (#3) would be an overwhelming winner, and complete surprise, to the President Obama's staff (not to mention the big guy, himself).

The one that was going to change the tone of politics.

The one who was going to have the most transparent and open government in the history of the country.

The one that saw the need for aggressive measures to protect this country and safeguard this country.

I want THAT President Obama.

What we have now seems to be a cross between Richard Nixon and Al Capone..

And I canceled my Democratic party membership over 2 years ago.

I find it hard to support the party because their goal is electing Democrats. I find it hard to support OFA because it's hard to get behind an agenda that sounds like, we believe in "getting something passed regardless of what that something is so we can declare victory".

I will support organizations that are willing to fight for things I believe in. And I support specific candidates who will do the same.

But it's really hard for me to support the Democratic party in general.

A lot of this happened when I read a really interesting article a few years back from some activists who discovered that they could make more of a difference with donations to local individual candidates who supported what they believed in.
