I'll remind ya of this commentary, CW, on 3 Nov 2010. :D

One thing though.. You failed to mention the biggest game changer of 2010 that will utterly decimate the Obama administration in particular and the Democratic Party in general.

If the Xmas Day bombing attempt is any indication, then a successful terrorist attack on US proper in 2010 will show completely and unequivocally how the Obama Administration and, by extension, the Democratic Party are simply incapable of protecting this country and it's citizens.

Forget the economy, forget jobs, forget immigration.. A successful terrorist attack on US citizens will make the War On Terrorists the numero uno election issue.

Speaking of immigration... The funniest political statement out there is still from the immigration debate..

"By and large, illegal immigrants obey the law.."

:D

But rather than change Senate rules, I'd personally rather see the American left to show up and demand reform.

The Left?? Demand???

Shirley, you jest... (Hay, if you can call me Chris, I can call you Shirley.. :D)

The Left "demanded" a single-payer system.. They "demanded" a Public Option.. They "demanded" Global "Warming" legislation..

What does they Left have to show for all their "demands"?

zilch... zero... nada... nuttin'...

They Left always "demands".. They never get what they want..

You would think they would learn the obvious lesson.

"This could be a prescription for utter gridlock on Capitol Hill for the next two years, as the Republicans gleefully filibuster everything to death."

--Which makes a change in cloture rules all the more tasty. My own preference is for the "time" option that would let you keep debating for so long before you take a vote with 57 for cloture.
