Whups. Not sure how things got cut.

Take 2 ... apologies for reprint
----------

This reminds me of something I saw last weekend at the market. There was group selling Christmas trees to raise money to fight AIDS.

As I walked past I asked one of the sellers how he was doing. "Great," he said, "we're hoping to sell out again this year!"

I was a bit surprised.

Because I thought sales of Christmas trees were declining. Especially among the environmentally conscious group that usually frequents the market.

And then I thought about buying a Christmas tree to help prevent AIDS. Would an AIDS fundraiser make it ok for the environmentally conscious to buy a Christmas tree?

This immediately came to mind upon reading Obama's speech.

I have to admit, those are pretty words. Some of Obama's better ones of late..

I especially like how he makes it clear that use of force and military might are NOT the dirty words that those on the Left would like us to believe they are.

As I said, pretty words... But Obama usually doesn't have a problem with pretty words..

Where Obama usually falls flat on his face is following thru with the actions to back up those words...

Time will tell...

That was a long and very remarkable speech...and may become a defining moment of the Obama presidency.

I think we're going to have more than one volume of 'Barack Obama: In His Own Words' by the end of this administration. I mean, it hasn't even been a year yet and the record is already immense and substantial.
